The Old School offers accommodation for mountain bikers, run by mountain bikers. The trails at Coed y Brenin are less than 3 miles from our door and accessible via an off road ride. Many of North Wales’ finest trails are within an hour drive, including; Dyfi Forest, Gwydir Forest, Penmachno, Antur Stiniog, Revolution Bike Park, Llandegla and Snowdon. Secure bike storage and bike wash facilities are available, as well as plenty of cake. Although we cater predominantly for mountain bikers, all adventurers are welcome!

Great accommodation with hosts that cannot do enough for you. Rooms are clean and ensuite. Secure bike storage with tool kits and bike wash available. We were full board. The food was good quality and large portions. I put the unlimited cake promise to the test and failed to empty the cake tin!. The hosts are regular riders and can offer valuable advice but never intrude. Only 3 miles from Coed-Y-Brenin Park on a busy main Rd or 5 miles via quiet lanes and off road tracks. We are talking about rebooking already and we havnt got home yet!🤟

What a great two night stay me and a few friends had here last week.
If you like your home comforts after a day’s wet trail riding this is a ‘must go to’ lodge to stay.
A warm welcome by the owners was followed by late afternoon tea and delicious homemade cakes. The two course supper each night was excellent, and comfortable beds made for a good night’s sleep. The handy drying room and shoe dryers ensured we all had dry kit where needed. We’ll definitely be booking again, can’t wait!

Stayed here a few nights with my son to sneak in some end of holiday mountain biking as a birthday present. Absolutely superb place really well located for the trails. We enjoyed the fully catered option and the food was wonderful - came back to home-made cake each afternoon after a day on the trails. Evening meals and breakfasts were delicious as were the sandwiches for packed lunches. Rooms and bathrooms really clean and comfortable. Plenty of parking and secure bike storage. Danielle and Lewis were fantastic hosts - we really couldn't have asked for more and will certainly be back!

Awesome accommodation for our long weekend mountain biking in Coed Y Brenin and Climachx. With ample room for 12, the 8 of us enjoyed a great stay at Old-Skool with all the facilities (and more) you need. Loads of space inside and outside with a short 3 mile trip to Coed Y Brenin. Our host was incredibly helpful and everything is thought of and waiting for you in a superbly renovated property, even down to some binoculars and guide book for some bird watching - we will be returning!

Quite simply because Lewis and Danielle have created what can only be described as the PERFECT accommodation for mountain bikers. Stay here and everywhere else after will feel like a second best compromise. Comfy, welcoming, cheerful with everything you need before and after a day on the trails. I don't know why I'm telling you this, I'd prefer if you booked elsewhere so that they have more availability for us to return in the future ;)

An excellent three night stay in comfortable accommodation in a great location with great food, great hosts, great views and great riding. Great to have drying facilities too for when the weather isn't quite so great.

By the way, did I mention it was great?!

3 nights breakfast lunch and a 2 course dinner all freshly handmade. The food blew us away. 4 men and we struggled to clear our plates. Clean. Comfortable beds. Drying facilitie for wet clothes and a place to lock our bikes up at night. The Hosts were absolutely amazing and couldn't do enough for us. We loved it there that much that we booked straight away for next year but not for 3 days but 5.

Great time at Old Skool, Lewis and Danielle could not have been better host's even with the Covid restrictions. The accomodation was clean tidy and the food was very tasty. I would highly recommend Old Skool anytime you want to mountain bike in North Wales!

6 of us chose the Old Skool as our base for riding Coed y Brenin and Snowdon. Lewis and Danielle were very welcoming and super helpful with great advice for enhancing our rides. The location is fantastic, the accomodation clean and comfortable and food and hospitality first class. Thanks!

Stayed for four nights which were originally booked pre-pandemic. Worth the wait. Danielle and Lewis run a great place where nothing too much trouble. Accommodation was very comfortable. Breakfasts and dinner nicely cooked and decent portions. Secure storage for bikes. Loads to do locally. Highly recommended.
