What an amazing host and beautiful little cottage. From my arrival, the hospitality and friendliness of the owner and his staff was absolutely perfect. Before my visit, they kept in touch with me, asking me what I would like for my breakfast and making sure everything was all sorted for when I got there.

It is only five minutes drive away from Coed y brenin mountain bike park, which was the reason of my visit.

There is storage available for mountain bikes, and the parking is secure.

The room I stayed in had everything I needed including ensuite bathroom, place to dry wet gear and even extra blankets and hot water bottles.

All in all a beautiful little place to use as a base if you wanted to do what I’m doing or any other outdoor activity.

I stayed as one member of a group that had block booked the entire premises as a base for an extended walking weekend

My room, Poppy Fields, was decorated throughout with poppy themed items - bed linen, mugs and tray for self service drinks, wall paper and pictures. The interior of the room was comfortable, warm, and modern with adequate en-suite facilities. Its stable door opened directly into the discretely hidden car park.

Breakfast service was delightfully unrushed and old fashioned. A generously but not over large optional cooked breakfast is provided with the possibility of having any selection of the items - sausage, bacon, mushroom, tomato, hash brown, baked beans, and fried, scrambled or poached egg.

This is an ideal centre for day trips, and there are plenty of local possibilities for eating out in the evenings. Please see my reviews of these.

I would definitely stay here again.

Gorgeous surroundings (despite the rain!) and cozy rooms. Breakfast was tasty and not greasy as can often be the case with English breakfasts. The owners were super friendly, and it's a great point from which to explore North Wales.

I have stayed at Old Mill Farmhouse on many occasions over the last 20 years. I would visit with my parents when I was younger and now take my own children.
The last time we stopped we were in Blue Lagoon which slept the four of us and our dogs. The room was very clean and perfectly sized for what we needed.
The WiFi is great, in fact it's better than what we have at home so the kids were very happy, although they didn't make much use of it as they enjoyed watching the model trains run, visiting the animals and playing in the garden.
Breakfast is delicious, my husband and I had a full cooked breakfast and the kids took advantage of the choice and had cereal and toast with bacon and egg.
The B&B is set in such an idyllic place with stunning views and plenty of spots to take the dogs for a walk.
We highly recommend and will be visiting again very soon!

Absolutely lovely place to stay. Due to Covid19 unable to eat in main house but had a full English breakfast, served hot with toast and jam, in takeaway containers in our room which was delicious.were treated to a display of the miniature trains running in the garden which is magical for children. There are even Llamas. Nothing was too much trouble for Margaret and Penny. They were fantastic at giving us tips on places to visit and where to park etc. The property is an absolute credit to the owners. Room was spotlessly clean and the bed comfortable. Wonderful.

We had a lovely stay in wonderful scenery. The garden was like a fairytale garden, so so beautiful. The room was nice and had a cosy feel. Fantastic location ,perfect for a short or long break and exploring all attractions around. the place was one of the loveliest we have stayed in for a while - and the team of people working there are so helpful and friendly (specially Margaret) , it leaves you wanting to go back ...

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay in the Forest Glade room at The Old Mill Farmhouse. Margaret and Penny were wonderful hosts - friendly, warm and welcoming and always on hand to help.

The room itself was spotlessly clean, the bed really comfy & we had no issues whatsoever during our stay. The cooked breakfast was superb & Margaret & Penny accommodated us changing our breakfast order & times every day we stayed.

Margaret recommended us a few lovely places to visit during our stay - Portmeirion in particular was a lovely day out wandering around the woodland & quaint Italian style village.

It really is a lovely place to stay - ideal for couples who want to get away from the hustle & bustle & enjoy a lovely few days surrounded by the amazing scenery, breathtaking mountains & beautiful lakes Snowdonia has to offer! We will definitely look forward to coming back in the future! Thank you again both 🙂

A lovely, and very old, building to spend a night or two in. Not close to public transport, so you really need a car. Free onsite parking is available.

Our room was comfortable and warm with a nicely renovated bathroom. Good water pressure and hot water.

The hosts are quite nice and provided breakfast for us, which was different to normal due to Covid restrictions. Great lengths were taken to ensure the room was clean and we remained healthy and safe during our stay.

Thank you so much for your appreciation of the work which goes into keeping people safe. It's been a challenging time for everyone. We're pleased you enjoyed your holiday and stayed Covid-free. We have been back in the dining room for some weeks now and it's great to be back to 'normal' for breakfast. All the best, Margaret.

Lovely little stay with an amazing host! Margaret was really kind, courteous and helpful.
Great location for getting around North Wales, we had activities at Zip World so only about 20 minutes away.
Also next to a reservoir where you can park up or visit a cafe. Views are beautiful and there's also Lamas next to the B&B
Appeared to be train enthusiasts that stayed to use the model railway, along with families, dog owners and bikers. Wonderful mix of people and felt really comfortable sitting outside our rooms and chatting with all.

So pleased you had a lovely stay and enjoyed your activities and our wonderful scenery. Our llamas tend to stay at the top of the field in this weather - a bit more breeze, I think. (We could all do with a bit more breeze, I'm sure!) We hope to see you again sometime. Thank you for your review.
