We stayed at Eilean Dhu, 2 doors down and also owned by Patricia, but had family members staying in the hotel, so got to see 2 of the rooms. They are beautifully presented and very comfortable. The overall atmosphere of the hotel is relaxed, all of the staff are really friendly and Patricia is a great hostess. We had breakfast...

We spent 2 nights recently . This is our favourite Hotel. The food , service , personal attention, atmosphere and rooms were first class. What did puzzle us however , was , why is this fabulous hotel not mentioned in the Michelin Guide?

Stayed here as two couples. The accommodation is good with absolutely stunning views across the loch. Do take one of the rooms with a loch side view- so special ! The staff were excellent and the owner so welcoming . Food was wonderful with emphasis on local produce- well worth a visit from larger Scottish towns, quite unique!

Came across this Hotel at the Ferry crossing to Bute. Not much to look at from the outside, but inside, a Gastromic Cosmos. There are 4 rooms if you want to book a stay, but not much to do unless you like fishing, but the views around the area are stunning. Well worth a visit for the food though. The...

This is a lovely small hotel, very much run with the personal touch and extremely comfortable. The food is delicious with an emphasis on local seafood. The room was excellent, with more than adequate drawers/cupboards for clothes (often a problem), a modern bathroom and a spectacular view over the Kyles. The price is not bargain basement but is eminently fair...

This was the first booked hotel on our Scotland tour...and probably one of our favorites. Charming, well run, great food...and in spite of the weather...a great start to our tour. The bar area had a very local flavor, which we loved. And in spite of its location, which is in the country, a very good starting point for touring. Would...

This is a small hotel, pub, restaurant (with shop and Post Office out the back) near the ferry at Colintraive. It is friendly and comfortable with a relaxed atmosphere. We ate twice in the bar and along with our three teenagers enjoyed the excellent, wholesome food and our interactions with the barmaid who was happy to provide local information. The...

We had a simply wonderful lunch here yesterday. The welcome was very warm and friendly and the food was very, very nice. Looking forward to going back on Saturday with the family for dinner. My wife had fish pie and I had the most fantastic seafood tagliatelle dish with a rich tomato sauce - delicious.

Arriving by charter yacht after a long beat up the West Kyle of Bute is not everyone's idea of fun but it is certainly ours and having turned at the head of the Kyles we picked up one of the very conveniently laid hotel mooring buoys which are but a short dingy ride away from the hotel. Suitably ashore safely...
