Stayed 1 night on way south to stay at York. Food was great and room good, nae complaints. Service friendly and quick. Grand breakfast of Bacon egg and sausage. Room comfy and clean well worth the cost of only £100 all in for 2 people including wine and 2 large malt whiskys.

Stayed here on Saturday 19th April, to do the Sprint Triathlon at Galashiels the next day. Staff friendly and helpful (took great care of my bike!) spacious room, and oh - so - comfy bed. Great night's sleep followed by excellent breakfast. Very reasonably priced too.

Myself and my friend popped into this quaint wee pub for a quiet pint and decided to try a snack, we ordered the smoked chicken, mozzarella and chutney panini, it came with fresh salad and the flavors were amazing. For such a small place the food can only get better, if the snacks are this good we will have to...

The Eagle Hotel was a nice place to stay for us long distance walkers. The twin room was very nice and pleasant although the shower needs attention. We were told to use the separate bathroom whose shower was great. The Landlady couldn't have been more helpful and put the heating on specially for us to dry out our socks and...

We were in Lauder for a wedding so staying for 2 nights. Had originally booked elsewhere but that fell through at last minute so we had to find somewhere else with very short notice. The Eagle was the first place we tried; bit of a 'locals' pub feel but the staff were very friendly and sorted a room for us...

We booked two rooms for one night. I originally booked 1 en suite room and 1 room with shared bathroom. I was then contacted to say that they had another booking and would I take two rooms with shared bathrooms. That was a mistake. My mother had a room on the top floor, which was basic and shabby, but at...

Dark and gloomy bar on entering. Room was stuck in a seventies time warp. TV only had limited channels. Toilet noise would wake the dead. Shower either freezing or scalding hot. It must have been the least comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Cooked breakfast was a lesson in grease. Stuck to cereal and toast on day two. Maybe they...

Stayed from Monday to Thursday had two evening meals then decided enough was enough, food was awful, Curry one night then a Burger both dreadful. Food was only served to 7pm and it would appear that the rest of Lauder followed suit. They even had...

We dined here whilst staying at The Black Bull. The service, atmosphere and prices were far superior to where we were staying. We had the steak deal with the bottle of wine and it was lovely. The staff were friendly and there was a lovely open fire.If we were staying in Lauder again I would stay at this hotel and not the...
