Carfraemill Lodge is a privately run hotel and shows it. Apart from the friendly staff, the warm welcome, the excellent menu and good quality food and the comfortable bedrooms with their individual homely touches, the whole operation speaks of the care and concern of people who clearly regard it as more than just a business. This is unique in the...

A warm, comfortable hotel with friendly staff, excellent food and a good selection of wines and beers, Rooms were well equipped although ours proved a little small. The ensuite shower room was quite sufficient but the water pressure in the shower itself barely adequate. Some difficulty getting wet! An ideal base from which to explore the Scottish Borders within easy...

Nice rooms, great staff and friendly atmosphere. The food is excellent with great choice. Carfraemill has a great reputation in the Scottish Borders and having stayed there for the first time it is well recommended. It is also great for family meals and weddings to which I have been for meals many times before

A lovely hotel and super room. Great food and warm welcome. We are regular visitors and always book the romantic break for dinner bed and breakfast. We'll definitely continue to stay here as often as we can on our travels from the Aberdeen area down south to visit family.

We took a small double at £110 as there were no deluxe doubles at £120 left. What a difference - I saw the deluxe room and it looked lovely and comfortable and worth the money compared to our little back room at only £10 less. The smaller room was overpriced but the bigger room looked worth the money and if...

Stayed here many times and will stay many more, a great central location. Comfortable rooms and good food. A bonus of a bath and a shower in my room. A good choice of things to choose from at breakfast too

My friend Brian and I breakfast almost every Saturday in life and have done so for the last 7 years. We have been to many establishments until we found The Lodge at Carfraemill 3 years ago, we have never been anywhere else since. It is comfortable, warm, welcoming and the food is great. The owner Jo and manager Susan are...

We stayed here for two nights and had dinner on the first night for the birthday celebrations. The meals are good and are severed in a relaxed atmosphere and the staff are very friendly especially Margaret and Ella. The bedrooms are comfortable and are very homely. The rooms are also spacious. The homemade shortbread is delicious and worth purchasing to take...

Have eaten here a number of times and food has always been excellent and the rooms were the same. Very tastefully decorated and comfortable. Great breakfast choice and freshly cooked. Would recommend as a relaxing stop off going north.

This small friendly and uncomplicated hotel is situated a few seconds drive from the A68, near Lauder. It is ideal as a stop off point for those who are travelling or as a base to explore the area. We stay on a couple of occasions each year for a night and have done so for many years. It has never...
