The reviews were misleading. They didn't state that this place was in the worst part of San Jose. It was loud, the street was dirty, graffiti on buildings getting there. They told us we had to go to another property. It was late. We were tired.

Depends on where your room is, the noise from the restaurant is loud until 9 pm, so don't go to bed early. Can't sleep in past 5 am because the train whistle is right beside you and it shakes the floor in the front of the hotel. Even earplugs don't help. Bathroom is delightful, large and lots of hot water....

After over paying for a dingy dated hotel in the city center, we found this little gem. Simple, fresh, and hip. Just the basics, tastefully done. Great value. Yes, the train goes by during commuting hours, but it did not bother us. The best restaurants in town are all in a few blocks near by. However, the lunch we had...

Located in the slightly upscale Barrio Escalante, on Calle 33. This neighbourhood is generally fairly safe (but still be cautious after dark!) and is home to many up and coming artisan bistros and restaurants, cafes, bakeries etc. The commuter rail line runs just 50 metres away, with an uncontrolled crossing that requires an excess of train whistles. They did not...

Stayed at Luz de Luna for two nights in November 2016. The hotel was well priced and staff is friendly. The rooms are basic but clean and spacious, and shower is excellent. Breakfast was included and was good, choice of continental or tipico (rice beans plantain egg), portion was a bit small for me (though i am a big eater!),...

The place is located in a perfect place, very close from everything and in a very quiet and safe neighborhood, in a classy area and surrounded by a bunch of gastronomic places that are amazing. The place was big, nice and clean..wirh a...

Location is good but room was very basic and in serious need of painting and updating. I arrived to find there was no water which after 30 hours of travelling is pretty horrific! They then charged me an extra $20 for an early check in. The water was also off for several hours the following day and there were extensive...

My wife wanted to stay here. I wasn't sure but in no time I was glad she did. The service from the front desk(Ferdanda, a sweet young lady) to the dining room, it was great!!) I wanted to stay here our last day in the country, but got out voted to stay some where else. They helped us in every...

POS: Good matress, location in street with restaurants. Safe neighbourhood. NEG: Asked parking, car ended up on the street (was safe though and free). Breakfast rather poor (2 toast, little eggs, little fruit, only thee or coffee). Room with window on the hall, really very noisy, mostly from trains (they blow the wistle at each crossing realy loud!), also heard...

A delightful boutique hotel the San Jose area. Great folks and nice rooms for a reasonable price. The free breakfast is limited but pleasant and adequate. The beds are good the bath is awesome. The only down side is some outside noise at 5am not ending until after 9PM. The area has several very, very good restaurants.
