We stayed here May 12, 2015. The lodging is located on a large and lovely estate with a fine manor house. The lodging is not in the manor, but attached to it in the rear as a newer add-on building. The rooms are small and sparingly furnished, and the small window doesn't open, the result being that even on a... More

Have been coming here for many years and I love the peacefulness of the estate. The pines(?!) villa has become quite dated and could do with some new decor. As for the strange hot tub in a separate shed-like room; that needs to be binned!! Meal at the white cockade was delicious thoroughly recommend the haddock and chips.

i stopped her for one night on business the room i was allocated was basic but was acceptable, the only faults with the room were that the kettle power lead wouldnt reach the socket from the table and had to be perched on the chair, and also one of the cups was dirty from the last visitor, and the kettle... As a long standing visitor to the estate for over thirty years, we visited again last week and it was magical, as ever. Excellent upgrade to the villa and all the facilities and grounds were clean and well kept. The stables are under new management under Ed and offer great tuition and friendly service at a very reasonable price. And... More

Arrived for one night en route back from a lovely stay in Kenmore (for less money!) for my daughter's birthday & we were allocated room CS1B. It was dark, dingy & had a disgusting smell. We attempted to upgrade but, despite reception staff's best efforts & helpful manner, there was no availability so we came home, despite losing half the... More

£140 for a one night stay in a double bed room with the conservatory. Dirty bedding and cheap pine furniture littered with stains as well as old vandalised seating. The kitchenette came with a whole basket of complimentary UHT milk and instant coffee, nothing else complimentary whatsoever, all expense spared (clearly). Check out was 10am and you are charged for... More

Room 16 accommodation tired. The room itself was clean and the bed was comfortable, however the side light did not work, the bathroom smelt of mildew and there was a tiny shower that needed refurbishing. The resort itself was friendly and the bistro was good. It did not live up to my expectations of a castle and I felt they... More

Located in rural Scotland, 45 minutes by bus from St. Andrews, minutes away from other seaside towns, Ansthruther and others. Our "flat" had a fully equipped kitchen and an attached conservatory for relaxation and reading. The resort offered golfing, horseback riding, swimming, hiking, and a lovely restaurant. Edinburgh is accessible by bus (2 hrs away); a car would be a... More

Had an overnight stay in April with family. Allocated rooms 14 & 15. Rooms very drab and dated. Poor lighting and dark grey painted walls gives a clostrophoblic feeling to the already small rooms. Accumulation of sticky dust at the back of the coffee/tea tray. Only a small shower room (no bath) with a shower curtain. Never a good option... More

We stayed at Kilconquhar (self-catering villa no 71) in the Easter hols. First of all, let me tell you why we chose Kilconquhar. We have previously stayed in self-catering accommodation at the Crieff Hydro which, back in February, was already fully booked which was disappointing but understandable due to its fantastic accommodation and amenities. Keen to try a new area... More
