We have only been back one week and already we are planning our next trip back. We got married in Barbados and stayed at the Sea-U as a honeymoon. Uschi and the staff's hospitality was incredible. We looked forward to the family style dinners and relaxing breakfasts. There is plenty to do on the island, but it is great to...

Sea-U In a nutshell Positives: - Beautiful property - Lovely staff [esp. in the kitchen and Seacat (sp?)] - Great dinners at the comfort of your home away from home - Comfortable rooms (although they could have used a hot pot, better mattress and a couple extra bars of soap - we had to buy our own as we were...

We spent the first 2 nights of our 10 day vacation at Sea-U as we were looking to escape to quiet, tranquil spot to enjoy the sun and surf in Barbados. I was traveling with my wife and 4 year old daughter. We stayed in a studio room on the first floor of the main guest house. The accomodations were...

Having stayed in Barbados several times, I had seen the photos on the websites and thought this would be a change from the glitzy 5* hotels on the west coast. The fact that it rained almost every day did not help, but the welcome drink on arrival was help yourself from a fridge behind the open dining room. Breakfast was...

This beautiful part of Barbados is enhanced by the friendliness and ambience of Sea-u-Guest House! While we more often stay at a resort type setting, this vacation was so much fun and relaxing. Whether sipping coconut milk which was provided by Seacat or lounging in one of several hammocks, this oasis seems far removed from even the hustle and pretense...

Sea-U Guest House is an exceptionally well run establishment in a beautiful location on the relatively uncrowded east coast of Barbados. The owner was very helpful without being too "in your face." I love Sea-U's Antillean style of ventilating with louvered windows and doors which catch the winds off the ocean. My only complaint was that the dinner we had...

I'm sat on the colonial style veranda of the main house with my wife - it's getting dark, the sound of the surf rolling off the Atlantic Ocean on to the East Coast fills the air together with a chorus of frogs and crickets. We love the island! Normally we'd go for a five-star resort holiday in St. James but...

Our party consisted of Mother, son and daughter in law. We stayed last year at the same time and found the guesthouse to be even better this time around. The owner and her small team of staff make one very welcome indeed. Our rooms nos 6 and 7 share a large verandah with views to the sea, only palm trees...

This lovely guest-house is the ideal place for a gentle, old-world travel experience. With no televisions, radios, or “background” music constantly pervading the atmosphere, the discerning traveler can relax to the sound of the nearby pounding surf. The view of the sea from the room and the shared verandah is obscured to some extent by the beautiful garden, but because...

This place is truly a Paradise! No noise, but the sound of the sea, no T.V.'s, but breath taking scenery right in front of one's eyes. This is THE place to relax. Great service from friendly staff. A wonderful place to meet like-minded travelers - i.e those who want to find the simple pleasures in life. We have tried to...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A chic and affordable bed & breakfast at the lush east coast. Sea-U is tucked within a lush tropical garden along the seaside slopes of the village of Bathsheba on the east coast of Barbados, the most natural side of the island. Here you can enjoy unspoiled beaches, breathtaking views and mingle with locals. Uschi Wetzels, owner and manager and fell in love with Bathsheba and its friendly people, while working on a Barbados travel guide for a German editor. With hammocks strung between coconut palms, the Atlantic Ocean waves breaking against massive limestone boulders. Sea-U is a place for those who are looking for a decidedly significant change of pace from a busy life. The main house and the cottage are built in a traditional island style out of wood with large patios. The 10 rooms and apartments are decorated with mahogany furniture, louver window treatments, rattan chairs, locally handcrafted clay lamps and batik art. Sea-U's welcoming staff provides knowledgeable information. The atmosphere is relaxed, and guests quickly become friends. Green Globe certified, close to Andromeda Botanical Gardens and world class surfing at Soup Bowl. ... more   less
