The Landing is a gracious, historic property dating back to 1800. This boutique hotel overlooks the harbour in the heart of Dunmore Town, an easy five minute stroll to the powder fine, pink sand beach where we have our own beach chairs and umbrellas for our guests to enjoy. Our thirteen guest rooms are designed and inspired by India Hicks in a classic plantation style with colonial inspired Caribbean influences. The library offers a quiet place to relax in a huge cane chair or cozy sofa and read one of the novels or photographic books that line the shelves. In the evening, sit back in one of the Adirondack chairs on the wide verandah and watch the sun set over the harbour. Guests can refresh themselves at the bar and dine in our world-class restaurant, which features a contemporary menu based on seafood and expertly prepared by Chef Madelene Pedican.

The Landing is simplistic, yet clean, quaint, and inviting. The staff is AMAZING and immediately made us feel so welcome!! When our flight was canceled unexpectedly on our last day (after we had already left the island!), they welcomed us back and put us in one of their cottages at a great rate. Phenomenal customer service!

If you can, get a room with a balcony! It's so worth it! The view from the Sea Sage room gave you all the Harbour Island vibes. Our room was lightly cleaned and refreshed with fresh towels daily, including beach towels! The Landing has a designated spot on the beach with their own chairs and it was the quietest part of the whole beach! Even on one of their busiest weekends of the year, the beach could hardly be considered "busy!" We also got dessert one evening from their restaurant and they allowed us to take it up to our room which was great.

You are near the government dock, so there is a fair amount of golf cart traffic and boats coming and going. If you stay in the Sea Sage room, you may be woken up by a rooster every morning, but that was our only minor complaint! ;)

This was our second time staying at the Landing, both for one week. We stayed in sea Sage last trip which was spacious and had a great veranda and view. This trip we booked Woodrose which was the tub of our dreams. My girlfriend took a pre dinner bath each night and was in heaven. The tub has a view of the harbour. We ended up extending our trip and moved to Frangipani in the captains house. This room was in a more lively area, but we enjoyed being in the center of it all and listening to happy families arrive to a wonderful landing dinner next door. The view was also incredible and close to the harbour from the veranda.

The staff was welcoming and helpful. The housekeeping each day was thorough and much needed after days at the beach. Everyone is so friendly and lovely around the property. We truly have no complaints. The beds are the most comfortable we have ever found in a hotel.

Make your dinner reservations in advance because it is the best on the island! Breakfast on the front porch is also a highlight. We plan to stay here each trip, it feels like home when you’re there. Breakfast at the landing and a quick 3 minute golf cart ride to the beach with pre dinner drinks on a veranda overlooking the harbour is a perfect day.

We were a family of four visiting the island for our first time. With a 14 and 16 year old you just need more space and the adjoining room was more than ideal. The beach towels daily, beach bag to use, and reserved spots on the beach were perfect. The golf cart from majors was there waiting for us, we didn't have any issues with finding parking for the cart. I would say logistically it is the easiest hotel to get to. It was nice being able to walk off the dock and not have to trek very far with the luggage and not knowing where you are. We enjoyed MANY of their Ginger Fro drinks from the bar, and dinner in the restaurant.
The location is on the harbour side, close to walk to two different coffee spots as the kids were taking it slow each morning. We preferred Bahamas Coffee Roasters for coffee, tea and muffins or the smoothies from Sweet Spot Cafe a little further down. We did get the banana pancakes from the restaurant on our last day and they were, in fact enough to share, amazing. Isabella in the office helped me with reservations for dinners out, and all the ladies we interacted with are gems, and very easy to work with. The pool setting is dreamy, and not much used. We enjoyed sitting out even if we didn't swim there much.
Get a golf cart, cruise to the beach, and come back to enjoy The Landing! A real value on a splurge island.

Spent a week.
Exactly what they say it is.
A colonial house, full of charm and warmth. No luxuries with the exception of the loveliest surroundings.
It’s not the place to go if you look for hotel gadgets, etc..
No TV nor kettle in the room, bathroom is basic.
But I had the most amazing poster bed and 4 windows.
Don’t choose the gumelemi room if you are looking for quietness because between 7 and 11 pm you will have all the noise of the restaurant in the room. Didn’t bother me but could bother other people.
Breakfast is amazing. They have the best granola ever made.
And the best bread.
Only point to be really picky is the presence of a paper cloth over the regular one, it’s an expensive restaurant..
Food over dinner is to die for.
I missed the view of the ocean which you will have at the resorts on the beach but the hotel is great.
And the staff is particularly friendly and accommodating.
Go and visit if you stay in the special harbour island.

After a week on Harbour Island we booked a weekend stay at The Landing for our final few days as a special treat. The room (Woodrose) was spectacular, with every detail considered (beach bag, robes, wine opener, decadent duvet, incredible tub!). We enjoyed the new outdoor shower and pristine pool. The ricotta hot cakes at the restaurant for breakfast live up to the hype in every way, and getting drinks from Honey at the bar was a perfect nightcap.

The staff went over and beyond to make us comfortable, and we were so sad to leave. Thanks for taking such great care of us, Tracy and Isabella!

Step back in time to the circa 1800 “Landing” bungalow style house overlooking the “Government Dock” aka the pink house where all ferry and commerce takes place on Briland.

The menu is otherworldly try the Cocuq Mare with eggs, virginia ham and guerye cheese on the signature sourdough toast. Order the banana pancake as a share for the table cut it in 1/4 and everyone have a melt in your mouth pancake with a dripping molasses type honey topping (whew it’s good!)

Step inside to see the bar; a scene out of a movie scene; think of Humphrey Bogart and the lush landscaping inspires a Caribbean themed “cool vibe” that is made perfect by the artwork and old photos adorning the walls.

Go during the week as the weekend scene is “overcrowded”; the staff is most friendly and we met the owner who’s photo adorns the bathrooms walls with famous guests and reminds one of the Gataby era.

Put this one on your HI list!

I LOVED this place. I was lucky enough to stay in Jacaranda and Hibiscus for one week. Isabella is AMAZING and Tina is lovely, these two ladies made sure my stay was extra special. The rooms are beautiful, clean and so unique and it was one of my favorite places on the island. Already missing my stay and looking forward to going back! Thank you!

My girlfriend and I stayed at the marvellous Landing Hotel for two weeks in June 2004. The Landing is a small hotel (7 rooms I think) but has plenty of amenities for its size, including a large terraced garden (with a day-bed, shaded sitting areas and an outdoor shower), comfortable library (with a growing collection of books, television and broadband internet access), an excellent restaurant, great bar and even a hotel shop. The overall feel is of a traditional Inn which we loved.

Our room (Frangipani) was extremely comfortable, tastefully decorated and well appointed. We loved the huge four-post bed. The polished dark wood floors suit the room very well. The furniture includes a writing desk, chaise long and two other chairs. The bathroom is large with plenty of storage space. There are views of the harbour from the private terrace. Fresh flowers are put in the room every day. Beach towels are provided daily in your room.

Brenda (the hotel manager and part-owner) looked after us throughout our stay and all our additional requirements (e.g. iron and ironing board, map of the island, bag storage, extra towels on the last day, messages from the marina and excursion operators etc) were met efficiently and timely (I am pretty sure the member of staff asked to give us a map of the island on our first day ran over to our room). Service in every part of the hotel was excellent.

We began each day with breakfast (included in the room rate) on the veranda watching the morning rush-hour of Harbour Island (kids walking to school and a few golf carts heading here and there). A different choice is available for breakfast each day, but will generally include delights such as local fruit plate (we luckily hit the pineapple season); eggs, bacon, English muffin; French toast (amazing); fruit bread etc, etc plus coffee and juice as you would expect.

The main attraction of Harbour Island is undoubtedly its staggeringly beautiful beach. You can get to the beach from The Landing in just over 5 minutes. Alternatively getting around is even quicker with a golf cart (available from $40 per day. The rental shop just across the road from The Landing is convenient or other providers will deliver to the hotel). On the beach you can rent beach chairs and large shade (as well as other beach equipment e.g. boogie boards) for $10 per person, per day. Coral Sands, Pink Sands and Sip Sip all provide food and drink just off the beach. They are all excellent. Drinks can also be brought to you on the beach if you need. If you don’t want to pay for a beach chair you can head to the beach in the late afternoon as there are some shady spots available.

Generally in the evening we would make sure we passed through the Landing bar for a drink (even if we were not having dinner). It is a great bar with good atmosphere. A full range of drinks is available from cocktails to a selection of beers. The Landing restaurant is superb. Just mention when you want to eat in sometime during the day. It offers a selection of locally themed and international choices. There is a full wine list likely to satisfy the demanding (and wine by the glass for, like me, the more easily satisfied). A typical meal for two including olives, bread, starter, main, water, wine and service worked out between $110 and $150 (about 60 UK pounds). A bargain compared to eating out in London.

Beyond The Landing there is plenty to enjoy on Harbour Island. It has the benefit of offering a number of restaurants with good food and service yet within a relaxed overall setting (we particuarly liked the Harbour Lounge). Almost everyone will say hello and it is easy to strike up conversations if you want to. Many of the activities available centre around the beach and sea (as you would expect) and the more you are happy just enjoying the relaxed pace of Harbour Island the better. We enjoyed a number of snorkelling trips (excellent value and with great sites), a trip to Spanish Wells (not much tourism, but quite fascinating), a trip to Eleuthera (including the preacher’s cave, glass window bridge and Gregory Town), lots of swimming, boogie boarding, reading, star-gazing, night-clubbing (Gustys), strolling around Dunmore Town, wandering around the marinas, visiting most of the restaurants and bars in the evening (The Rock House, Harbour Lounge and marina are within a short stroll of The Landing), going into town for lunch (Arthurs, Dunmore Deli and Browser Cafe are excellent), visits to the local art gallery, shopping for various arts and crafts, early morning runs on the beach, island exploring via Mini Moke and Golf Cart, etc. We didn’t get around to fishing, Scuba diving, horse riding, jet skiing, some of the restaurants, the spa and a range of other activities.

I haven’t ever had such a pleasantly relaxing holiday and we hope to return.

The Landing was the best surpise of our trip. We stayed at the Coral Sands and had dinner at The Landing. Drinks in the cozy bar before dinner was fun. The colorful walls are decorated with fun personal pictures. The food was the best of the trip and the wine list was outstanding. The grouper was fabulous. Dinner was so good we went back a second night. The service was attentive without being intrusive.

We went back the following day and the owner showed us the rooms which were charming. The pretty hardwood floors with crisp Ralph Lauren bedding it was simple elegance. Also the sun sets on the bay side of the island and you experience the most beautiful sunsets. A three minute golf cart ride takes you to the beach. This is a special place to stay.

We had dinner at The Pink Sands and The Rock House (both beautiful settings) but for food and wine list The Landing is the best choice.

We just returned from a Paradise Island/Harbour Island stay. Harbour Island is a quaint little island with a casual and layed back atmosphere.

The Landing is beautifully decorated with Ralph Lauren linens, antiques and nice touches. We found the owner to be gracious and friendly. We were 2 couples that stayed in the 2 BR/1BA suite. The window units for both rooms worked intermittenty and there were small ants in the bathroom/2nd bedroom. We did not mention these to management as the AC blitzes seemed to occur late at night and the ants were harmless. However, we did blow a circuit up and downstairs by blow drying hair in bathroom and having 1 AC on at the same time. That was easily remedied.

Overall, neat island with not alot to do. If thats what you are looking for, great place! Shopping is limited as well. We explored all other places to stay and walked around those properties and defintiely decided we got the best deal. Although, its not located on the beach, it is convenient to arrival from the Bo Hengy ferry from Paradise.

Breakfast there was good. Had a choice of 4-5 similar items each day. Dinner at the Rock House next door was nice. Of course its pricey but service was good and beautiful surroundings. We lunched at Tingum Village - reportedly known for best hamburgers. It was OK. The bread at Arthur's Bakery (specifically bacon cheese loaf) was divine! I could have eaten all meals there! Dessert there were OK but bread was better. Also, had a good drink at Sip Sips.

Running around the island on golf carts was fun. However, you get warm and a tad bit sandly depending on where you are heading.

The Landing is lovely and reminds me of a Southern Plantation with large shuttered doors. Friendly hosts who were eager to make recommendations for eating, etc. Enjoy this quaint place with character!

You can definitely walk to the beach (public access right next to Sip Sip). It’s an uphill 0.25 mile walk to the beach. The Landing has lounge chairs and umbrellas set up for guests at the beach. If you want to zip around the entire island, you may want a golf cart for at least part of your visit.
