One of the few places to dine in Buckie. Strangely stops serving alcohol at 9pm , stops serving Indian food 8.30pm. We ordered lasagne & baked potatoe which isn’t a usual evening menu but very limited choices in offer. Food was fine, and plentiful, staff very friendly but clearly bound by hotel rules limiting them to offer a better service

I believe the picture says it all. Depressing, dark and dingy reception area. Small rooms with uncomfortable mattresses. Inadequate bathroom facilities. Couldn’t wait to check out after one night stay.

On arrival at 19.15 recepiton was dark and had to look for someone to book us in we had three rooms booked a family room for me and two chidren and two double rooms for other family members they was a mix up on the price of the double rooms so this caused some confuson as it was 60 pounds over what we were meant to pay but this was soon sorted by the staff member but because of this deley we were not able to eat in the hotel that night because we missed the last orders for food which was 19.45 but hotel staff did say we could order from a local take away and eat it in our rooms or In the bar area so this made it a bit easier. The family room was an avarage size but did only sleep three and the bathroom was very small with shower the double rooms were again an average size and one had a small bathroom with shower and the other had a much larger bathroom with a bath in. All 3 rooms were clean and tidy. also corridoors were very dark with not much light also had to get a pram up the stairs as there was no lift .Staff were friendly and helpfull. On the second night we ate in the hotel the food was very good and prices were good. Overall it was a nice stay if I went back I would probably use this hotel again.

Visited for lunch, staff friendly to the point of over the top, darling this, dearie that, lovely to start with but grating by the time we left. Will say best prawn cocktail we have tasted in some time but usually served with lettuce not supermarket salad bag mix, our mains arrived and I can only think they were under some kind of heat source for quite some time as the side salad, coleslaw and accompanying tub of sauce were all hot and wilted, the fish and chicken fillets were from a freezer, disappointing about the fish given we are in a fishing port! We wished the receptionist cheerio in leaving, still waiting for an answer.....
