I had a wonderful evening and night at Anakiwa Lodge. After two days of mountain biking on the Queen Charlotte track, I was very happy to find a clean, bright and fully equipped place like this one. Darrell is very helpful with everything and sorted out all my problems. La cerise sur le gateau: the hot tub !!! After the...

We stayed a night in Anakiwa and it is a lovely little place. The lodge is only a minute away from the water and it is a big house with lots of rooms. We had a twin room at the back. It had its own balcony with table and chairs so it was great to sit out and enjoy dinner...

Always a bit nervous staying at a backpacker type accommodation but Anakiwa Lodge is lovely. Great facilities, nice room and well stocked kitchen. We were in the family room which was very good - I camped mostly on this holiday so it was lovely to have a real bed for a night! We also made use of the spa and...

Hostels can be pretty big and pretty basic. This was more like a small inn than a hostel, and had way more amenities, like a hot tub, use of kayaks, huge DVD library, hair dryers and more. It was spotlessly clean and well maintained. And it's a 2 minute walk from the start of the beautiful Queen Charlotte track! I...

This was one of the best YHA's I have stopped in during a recent trip to NZ and like other reviewers could not believe this was a YHA. Set in a quiet location only a short drive from Picton and a short walk down to the water and Queen Charlotte Track. I had booked a double but when I arrived...

Like others I couldn't believe this is a YHA, it's more like a hotel. There was a slight mix up with my booking which was fine because I ended up in a lovely room with a double bed that was the most comfortable bed I've slept in during my travels. The facilities are spotlessy clean and it has everything you...

We got an Special offer, because there were no free dormbeds left. So we slept in a kingsize bed for the price of a dormbed. This is what I call Service. And the owner has given us a lift in his truck, back to the highway. Only the fact that is there no groceriestore or anything else, is a little...

Lovely bathroom adjacent to our room with separate loo also very clean. We appreciated the free tea making facilities upstairs too! Spa well worth it for...

Stayed for 3 nights while exploring the marlborough sounds. Couldn't fault the hostel. Stayed in a double with adjacent bathroom, facilities were very clean. Darryl was very helpful and it was great to be able to use the single kayaks for free. The free spa use with the room and movie rental are a nice touch too. Can't believe it's...
