I booked a room with 1 bed for 2 people at $108. They gave us a room with 2 beds saying that they only had a 2 beds room. The next morning AFTER my check out, I got charged $40 more. Called them, they told us that we moved the beds so they had to charge us. With hair and stain on the bed sheet, I personally wouldn’t charge these kind of extra charge just to advantage of tourists.

Nick the owner asks for payment/card details FIRST and then gives you the room keys. Once paid, the amount is NON-REFUNDABLE. Many decent people/families do not prefer staying here and leave the room in 5 mins after check-in. If you give a review on google & expedia the FRAUD owner Nick will abuse and charge your card without your permission. Very filthy rooms, no cleaning staff , dishonest motel owners- Nick and his wife are the cleaners of this motel and do a pathetic job in cleaning the rooms. Motel is very rundown, rooms smell of mould, loose squeaky flooring , flies and bedbugs in the rooms. This place is not safe at night , many junkies, crackheads, homeless people live here. P:S: I have many pictures to upload but google allows only one picture. If the owner has guts to say it's a lie or fake review, I will upload a receipt of my motel-stay and more pictures in another review....…

We stayed here 1 nite in Aug. the room was basic…..but clean & comfortable. Everything worked. Room included coffee maker & fridge. The owner allowed us the use of the BBQ grill which was a nice touch as restaurants on Manitoulin are few. I left my external battery in the room on checkout. Owner drove to the ferry to return it to me. Very nice gesture.

My spouse and I stayed here between 15-17 July. It is clean and basic. We booked a queen bed non smoking. Although the amenities said no pets allowed. I called Nick and he said they don't but with additional cost of $20. Which is reasonable as other hotels charge about the same. He arranged for us to have a corner rooms close to the grounds so that our lil dog can do her business. The location is great there is mum's bakery, foodland, mindemoya lake is walking distance. Nick gave us a map of the island suggested what we can do on our first day there. Anandi is the hostess and very friendly too. AC in our room worked. Simple toiletries - soap and shampoo conditioner. All in all it was a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend as it's nice and peaceful although old building it is clean and tidy and it's central location.…

The motel doesn't look like its pictures. Last Fall when I was there it housed some longhorn low income guests with junk stacked outside the rooms. I didn't feel safe at night. The flood of room had collapsed. the owner swore at me when I complied about the room. His anger was scary.

My softball team and I recently stayed at this motel for a weekend. The outside of the motel made me believe the inside would be dirty and grimy as well, however, the rooms were clean and fresh. We paid $215 per night which was steep considering the size and amenities available. On our second day, the owner called me into his office and had me sign two $100 deposit forms (one for each room we had booked). My brother booked an additional room and didn’t have to sign for a deposit at all. After we left, the owner sent me pictures of a broken bolt on a toilet and said he wouldn’t be returning either deposit. So that’s $200 for a broken bolt. I asked to see a receipt but he refused saying he didn’t have to show proof. Despite there being “damage” to only one room, he decided it was his right to keep both deposits. I have tried numerous times to reach out and explain that he cannot do this, that he is only entitled to one deposit, but he either ignores my texts, or yells at me on the phone and talks over me when I try to discuss the situation. Needless to say, we will not be staying there again and I would advise anyone who chooses to, to be cautious.…

My Girlfriend and I went to Manitoulin Island in August, We drove all day and it was Dark and all the Hotels were filled. Tired and exhausted another motel Owner called around and found a room here. The Owner was great and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The next day He upgraded us to a cottage style room for no extra cost. I would definitely recommend this Motel it isn't fancy just clean and well maintained. My personal joy came from using the open fire-pit in the back at night.

I my self have never stayed in a motel before and it was the best experience I had and great prices. The owner was there when we needed help with something and when our heat went out tried to get it going again but gave us a portable heater to use in case it had gone out again in us. The rooms were clean all around inside and cozy. The grounds maintained as well. Always made sure we had coffee and fresh towels. I definitely RECOMMEND Mindemoya Motel 👍👍👍👍👍

We stayed for one night at this motel. It's simple but nice. We were with three and Nick offered to show us either the (spacious) family room as well as the seperate upstairs apartment. We chose the apartment. We were surprised of the space for a reasonable price. It was spacious and comfortable because we could use the 2 seperate bedrooms and a pullout in the living. The apartment was pretty clean, beds were good and wifi worked well. What we liked most was that nick was very friendly, helpful and wanted to make sure we had a good stay. He even gave us a discount for the ferry. We would stay here again!

I miscalculated my travel plans on that day, and needed a room at the height of the season, later at night. Nick held a room for me and helped me with directions. Despite that fact that I got lost twice (my fault), he waited up for me and got me there. Room was fine for what I needed - clean, large, nice and quiet for the night. In the morning he gave me a discount code to use for the ferry. Nothing fancy, but I'd stay there again.
