The Premier Inn Littlehampton Hotel garners praise for its hospitable staff, though some guests have encountered problems with the restaurant service and hinted at possible staff shortages. Cleanliness is a highlight, with clean rooms and bathrooms frequently mentioned, despite occasional housekeeping lapses. While rooms are described as clean and comfortably modern, especially the Premier Plus, noise and a scant selection of amenities like decaf coffee have been points of contention. The hotel's value proposition has come under scrutiny, with several travelers questioning the balance between cost and value, citing high prices and unwarranted additional charges. Amenities are deemed adequate, offering clean and spacious rooms, cozy beds, and quality toiletries, yet some guests were disappointed by the limited refreshment options and unexpected restaurant closures.

We have stayed in Premier Inns all over the country and this was far the best. We booked an accessible twin room and was surprised when we got a accessible twin plus room with a large power shower wet room , fridge with bottled water and chocolates in. A very comfortable room.
We were met at reception by Naomi who was very helpful as were all the other staff. We definitely will be returning.

Check-in was smooth and friendly.

Room was in the new block, we was given ground floor, which turned out to be a mistake. Next time we stay there, i shall request 1st floor (only ground and 1st floor) as you can hear EVERY movement. Sadly we must have had young children above us and they did not stop running up and down, early morning and late at night. Not technically their fault, but something to bare in mind when staying on the ground floor, as you can hear every movement.

Otherwise, we found our stay very comfortable, plenty of room for a family room, was very impressed.

Due to covid, everything is minimal, such as only one pillow each, and minimal tea and coffee etc, however, you can request more when required and they couldn’t be more happy to help.

Parking was free, Which was a bonus, and always could get a space.

Aircon was a big hit even though our bank hols weekend was chilly outside, it got very warm and stuffy inside, as no windows can be opened, I’m guessing due to security.

We didn’t eat there, we took our own mini fridge and had our own cereal so can’t comment on food and ate out around the area.

You check out at 12, but be careful as our key cards stopped working from 11:30, so we ended up having to wedge our door open and having to work as a team to keep doors open within the building that open via the key card. However, I mentioned this when I checked out, only to be told they can activate the keys again. Damm wish I had known that haha.

During covid times there is no room service, this we was perfectly happy with as was only there for a couple of days anyway.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, would stay again but would stay on first floor.

As veteran Premier Inn users and whilst visiting for one night on business, we thought we would try a Premier Plus room. The rooms are bigger and there are some extra things such as a coffee machine but I asked for some decaf pods and they don’t provide these nor is there any decaf tea. There some very small but good quality chocolate bars and the seating was slightly better quality. Would have preferred biscuits. The bed is no bigger than a standard room however and apart from the disappointment of the small bed it did look a bit lost in the larger room. The bathroom provided Baylis and Harding hand soap and shower gel(we had no shampoo provided but two shower gels instead, not spotted by housekeeping ). The mirror is heated so doesn’t steam up which is good. The rain shower part of the shower is fixed so low that you cannot slide the hand held shower part up and down as it’s in the way. This should have been much higher and as we are tall it was a nuisance. Teabags are better quality but nothing extra like hot chocolate for example. Pillows need replacing. They are flat and hard.
Cleaning was not very thorough. Hand soap and dispenser very dusty. We could not mention this when leavings as no one was at the reception desk. Breakfast in the adjacent pub / restaurant was good and up to the usual standard with prompt service, but the building looks very sad and scruffy from the outside which worried us when we arrived, wondering what on earth it would look like inside. On balance we didn’t think the extra cost was worth it sadly.

Upon arrival, we went into reception to book in and collect our key. We were met by a gentleman who I can only describe as very rude and arrogant, who insisted on arguing with my wife over some small technicality, that we have recently established my wife was correct. I believe his name to be Mark Sawyer, the hotel manager (would suggest a crash course on customer service training). Not a great start to our stay so we decided to take our bags to the room and go for something to eat in the bar attached to the hotel despite my wife being clearly upset.
Once in the pub, we approached a waitress and asked politely if we could eat in the bar area, the waitress ignored us and walked by, another customer service training course required. We settled ourselves down within the bar area regardless, decided what food and drink we wanted, and I went to the bar to order. The barman was not rude nor was he very helpful either, no conversation and no smile the whole time we were there, another customer service training course maybe? At this point I realised we had made a bad decision staying at the Littlehampton hotel, so we just went back to our room and watched tv to avoid any contact with staff.
After a terrible night’s sleep as the mattress was too hard, and after a very bad customer experience on the Saturday, we decided to have breakfast and leave early! The guys who served breakfast were completely different, clearly customer focused and very helpful, just like the lady on reception who should both be commended for their customer service. Had it not been for the Sunday staff, this review would have been a 1 star at best!!!
To summarise, based on our experienced I would recommend driving passed this hotel for a few more miles and visit Premier Inn in Worthing, fantastic location as its sea front and all the staff are very helpful and friendly and not just a few.

I've stayed in many Premier Inn's in the past, some fantastic, others average and a small number of poor but this one tops the list be a huge margin.

Firstly, the Room:

Cables dangling from the TV, all un-useable, the control (where you plug a HDMI Cable to allow an external device) was not working.

TV Channels, most of the decent channels had no signal,

Air Conditioning comes on but didn't work

Plugs literally coming out of the wall

Bathroom Light didn't work, just the little spotlight above the mirror

And the people on Reception were very nice but had no real clue what they were doing. As an example, we opted to stay for 1 more day and agreed a price of around £130. On the morning of the additional day, the man behind reception tried charging me £185. I went on to explain the situation and he was having none of it. After I produced the email confirming the price agreed, he then went onto say how the person who booked this in made a mistake yet kind of was reading everything he was seeing and from our side, it looked like the lady had did the job correctly and that he was the one who made a mistake.

Overall 2 out of 10 and I will 100% never return to this hotel ever again!

RESTURAUNT:

The Roundstone, attached to Premier were just as, if not worse.

We booked in a breakfast (just the table, not pre-paid) only to arrive and be told that they were out of food! YES,,,, Out of Food!

I then booked a meal for the following evening and when we arrived the host said the following ''We only have enough food for those currently booked in''. I mentioned then that I was booked in and the host replied ''no, for those currently seated... all 7 of them!

Hands down, never seen anything like that in my life and clearly its ran by incompetent people!

Another place I will never return to

Staying for 4 nights with my adult daughter who is blind and 16 year old grand daughter. Only double bed and pull out bed available. Temperature not able to go lower than 19 and was much too hot. On second day had to ask for clean towels, bin to be emptied, toilet and wash basin to be cleaned, cups to be washed, shower gel replaced, a glass for water. I appreciate Covid has caused problems but for £613 I do expect basic hygiene not to be compromised and a bed of my own to sleep in.

I requested on the second day of my stay that I want by room clean because but nothing was done about it. The third day again I went to reception to requested the room to be cleaned to my surprise when I came back from my outing with my husband the room still unclean so I went to reception and strongly demanded that I will sit at the reception until the room is cleaned that when they went to changed the bed sheet but the carpet was not cleaned. I work with NHS as a front line staff this my first short-term holiday from home after the pandemic and a very stressful period at work my stay at the Premier Inn littlehampton was unpleasant. The service was very poor.

Response from Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, Other at Premier Inn Littlehampton Hotel
Responded Aug 24, 2021
Hi there, Thank you for your review. We’re very sorry that you were left disappointed by the cleanliness standards in your room on arrival. This certainly isn't the experience we would expect for you. The safety and wellbeing of our guests and teams has always been incredibly important to us and everyone in our hotels should rightly expect a safe, clean and protected environment. The Coronavirus crisis has brought this into sharp focus, which is why we have launched a new rigorous, daily cleaning regime across all our hotels. We apologise you found your room to not be up to the high standard we would expect. We have ensured this feedback has been logged to the Hotel Management team so that they can look into these issues with our Housekeeping teams to prevent this experience from being repeated again in the future. Thank you for taking the time to contact us and we hope we can welcome you for a more enjoyable stay in the future. Kind regards, Danny

Chosen for the location this premier inn offers plenty of parking & friendly service. The rooms were quiet with comfy beds, hot showers and a good standard of cleanliness. The breakfast offered in the roundhouse pub next door was fine except they had run out of veggie sausages and the crumpets, pastries etc were not covered and had probably been out for a while so didn’t have those. The coffee was great. The issue we had with the hotel was the twin room has one double bed and one sofa type single pushed up against the wall under the window. This was not suitable for 2 adults sharing so one had a good nights sleep and the other not for this reason we would not stay again if a twin was required. When mentioned to reception the response was I know what you mean and unfortunately there was not another room available. I believe this should be mentioned upon booking as it was assumed that a twin room would offer twin beds if the same standard

We stayed at this Premier Inn for one night as we had a social event to attend in Rustington. All in all we enjoyed it, the check-in staff being very helpful, and the room generally being of quite a high standard.
Just a few MINOR issues worth noting:
1. There were one or two human hairs in the bath (that didn't belong to us!)
2. The 'free' wifi is almost useless. I got the impression that it could've possibly been better had we not been given a room in the annexe. I think they'd like guests to upgrade to their 'Ultimate' Wifi.
3. Similarly the reception on the TV was pretty poor. Again something to do with being in the annexe I guess?
However, despite the above we will definitely return again (maybe ask for a room in the main hotel?).

We have just spent a night away here as a family, we had three rooms and each room beautifully cleaned and comfortable, the air con was just wonderful as coming from London the heat was unbearable.
Breakfast was perfect everything we needed and such lovely staff who were just so lovely, 9.30 am and singing happy birthday to our grandson with some chocolate cake, honestly our stay was perfect.
Thank you to all the staff for a lovely night away ..

The building housing the hotel rooms has a separate entrance but is constructed effectively as an annexe to the pub, so they appear as one, though the pub can be treated as a distinct entity. They operate largely as one with breakfasts served in the pub. Not sure what you mean by 'Table Table'.

Afraid I can't help with that. I didn't notice any pets when I was there, nor did I see any hotel information about it. Good luck with finding somewhere that is pet friendly.
