I can only support everything the previous reviewer stated. We have been here about 16 months at Happiness Resort. We love it! We love our bungalow (beautifully designed with lots of windows and fresh air). We have great neighbors. It's quiet and green. For us, it feels like home. We even have our own garden.
This is our 6th month staying here @ Happiness Resort, Ao Nang. A few other long termers here too which makes for a nice little community feel. The bungalows are set around a garden courtyard and there are horses, cats and birds to talk to every day. Lovely and helpful management, this is an old school resort. Not luxury but everything you need for a few days, weeks or months. The price is great long term. Location is perfect with a scooter .. quiet place, 5mins from one of the best beaches in Thailand and the buzz of Ao Nang.
A nice resort with easy reach of nopparathara beach and ao nang. Rent a motorbike for freedom of travel. Clean tidy rooms, friendly staff and a nice set breakfast. Would likely stay again next time :)
a wonderful place and friendly staff. the rooms were good and air conditioned. we were here for 2 weeks. the food is good and cheap. 3 times a day free shuttle to the beach. we will come again sometime. thanks to the happiness resort.
I have stayed here a week now and am thrilled with the decision. I was after something that was quiet, cheap and friendly and it is all of those things. Don't expect the Taj Mahal. At these prices you would be unrealistic. Staff often took me up to the local store or even loaned me their personal transportation to make short trips. On one occasion one of the owner/managers invited me to the market with his friend where they guided me through some amazing street side delicacies. Dinner can be served at a cheap price and is always seriously tasty. Wow can they cook here. Its about a 7 minute walk to the pier where you can catch a boat to Phi Phi and other islands or hire a scooter for around 200 baht a day.
Location: Was told 5 min walk from aonang beach. Reality 5 min DRIVE from aonang beach. Rooms: A little more dated than the pictures, but not that bad. Pretty decent I would say. Facilities: Have swimingpool, Chillout area. OK Service: Free rides to the beach 3 times a day. Thats IT! Rooms where neve cleaned, beds never made up. Even when we put out the sign to clean our room. The breakfast was egg bread and some fruit, that's it, no choice. Nobody really speaks English. And the last day before we left we used 30 minutes arguing that we had paid for all nights of our stay while they meant we didn't pay for the last night. Argument settled when they looked at the receipt. That proved our innocence. All inn all it's a ok place if you treat it as a self service apartment. However, this is a resort, and priced like a resort, so I rate it as 2 points. …
If you want to avoid a busy downtown area for tourist this would be a nice place as an alternative. It's a five minute taxi or scooter ride outside of the beach area and it's quiet and has a jungle feeling and the rooms are for me super nice and clean and the price is reasonable and there's a restaurant on site with very inexpensive food but very delicious at the same time. For the breakfast they can make western style pancakes!!! Order the lemongrass soda(fresh lime)in picture very refreshing!!!
Some friends and I stayed here for a couple of nights on the start of a mini adventure. It was the first place we arrived to after 2 nights in Bangkok, so in my opinion it was definitely a breath of fresh air! We'd booked through agodo and upon arrival, noticed it was a little outdated to the pictures available online (pretty common and I won't hold it against them). In saying that, It was full of charm and the people running the place were just lovely! The resort was close to Auo Nang town and offered 3 free shuttle services per day (although as it wasn't very busy, they would bring us wherever we wanted within reasonable distance) the rooms/cabins were comfortable, and the food was good although slightly limited, but everything was on the less expensive side. As the owners are Muslim they did not sell alcohol onsite but we were allowed to bring out supplies in so long as we were respectful to our surroundings. (There's a small shop that you can walk to in about 3 mins) Our stay was perfect, it was quiet and relaxing, just make sure you stock up on bug spray and keep your eyes peeled for the inevitable little critters 😊 Thanks happiness resort! …
I stayed here for 2 nights with a group of friends, we all loved it. The people are so kind and friendly, really helpful. The restaurant food is a little better than average but is very well priced and worth a meal there. The area the resort is in is beautiful, surrounded by trees and water and chill out huts. The pool is a great addition. I would go here again because of the lovely staff, they really make it worth while. Free shuttle 4 times a day. No alcohol sold on site as this is a Muslim resort, but they are more than happy for you to buy your alcohol from the shop next door and have a few beers in a chill out hut.
happiness Resort lives up to its name. The staff were so friendly and welcoming throughout and were always keen to look after us if we had to book something by phone. It is a cluster of small chalets around a green luscious central area with a covered chill area to chat at any time. There is a beautiful little pool with it, cleaned and maintained daily. Breakfast is provided but not evening meals. However there is a small restaurant located immediately next door. It is about 5 minutes bike ride out of the main area which ensures it's quiet and tranquil setting. It runs a free taxi into Ao Nang 3 times daily but you need to make your own way back, 150baht. We hired a motor bike for our stay, only 250 baht per day for 5 days. Our resort arranged this and the bike was delivered/collected from the resort, all within 30 minutes from the booking request. If you want relaxed, this is a place to stay…
