My wife and I spent 3 days at Playa Manglares. Olga was a great host - you feel like she is your 'abuela' (or you want her to be) by the end of your stay. If you're expecting an all-inclusive, fancy, resort-type feel, this is not your place. Rather, the very appeal of Manglares is its raw, authentic, off-the-beaten path...

Olga is a spectacular hostess who readily makes you feel at home with a big hug and declaration that you are " adorable". Ease into the rhythm and relinquish expectations and your time will be sublime. If you opt to control when and what you eat or who you eat with disappointment lurks. We arrived exhausted and spent a restful...

The property is on the private beach with very quiet and pleasant sea. Clean spacious rooms. Well groomed garden. Plenty of shade. Good mattresses. The owner, a very friendly and nice lady, is always on the property. The food is delicious and made of good quality components. However, the portions are tiny and dull. You will never see beef, any...

Really nice place with private beach and nice hammacas for relaxation and great food. The owner (Olga) is the best host you can imagine. The rooms are big and beautifully decorated, the outdoor showers on the terrace are really nice. The hotel is located only 20 meters from the ocean but it is surrounded by trees and nature. Take time...

This is one of those places that you visit and fall in love with. Not because it's postcard picture perfect but because it has something magical and truly special. The rooms here are cosy and comfortable. But the setting is even better- you walk right onto the beach, where you won't find any other person than the hotel guests (only...

Playa Manglares is a bungalow style retreat in the middle of the jungle, or at least it feels that way. It is actually situated on a small farm and is a small, three-story home with one room on each floor (though the owner is slowly but surely expanding). Each room has a king-sized bed (covered in a mosquito net), ample...

We stayed at the top floor of the main building and were completely amazed by the openness of the room without losing any privacy. It's very spacious, fitted with an outdoor shower from where you can see part of the ocean and the surrounding vegetation. It's basically what comes to mind if you had to shoot a romantic honeymoon movie....

This was the highlight of our trip to Cartagena and beyond. We couldn't have felt more welcome, and the entire stay was absolutely fantastic! Oh wow, what an experience. Olga arranged the transfer from Cartagena airport (ca 1h) and when we arrived, it was like stepping into your own little paradise.
