Detailed Reviews
The Westin Baja is a stunning resort with service and villas far beyond our expectations. I can't begin to describe how wonderful it is to sit in your own private hot tub looking out over the beach and ocean at the whales and other wildlife. Or the villa's many delightful and thoughtful touches - like an 'extra' shower in the living room's '1/2 bath' for those sleeping on the sofa bed (or in our case allowing both of our adult children to shower simultaneously).
Baja Point is separate from the main (and huge) Westin resort so it felt like we were at a small, quiet resort while still having access to all of the services of a larger one. The onsite pool bar and high end restaurant were both wonderful and the main restaurant perfectly fine (see separate reviews).
San Jose del Cabo is a 20-ish minute drive away and Cabos San Lucas a bit farther than that (while you can rent a car Ubers were ubiquitous and relatively inexpensive). We had many wonderful meals and experiences in SJC (I particularly recommend the Saturday Organic Farmers Market and Thursday night Art Walk).
The one downside is that while the beach is beautiful, most of the year it is unsuitable for swimming because of rough water or cold temps (Chileno Bay Beach is a nice beach about 10 minutes south). But we made do with the pools and our hot tub and the lack was more than made up for by the sheer wonderfulness of the resort.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Westin Baja Point this week. We are Vistana owners, but actually booked this on our own. We had a huge 2 bedroom unit that was actually one normal two bedroom room plus an adjoining villa suite. It was huge with great amenities. We enjoyed being able to use the facilities at both the Baja Point and the main Westin next door. Fernando and all of the bell staff were magnifico! The only negative was we weren’t told at check-in that we weren’t eligible for free breakfast and didn’t realize that until the day. A small negative on an overall very positive stay.

Just came from a short trip to Cabo San Lucas. The Westin Baja Points was an absolutely beautiful resort with stunning views of the deep blue ocean and surrounding mountains. We booked the one bed room villa at the Baja Point section which is closer to the beach. it was spacious 1288 sq ft with Bose surround sound in the living room. That was much better than the 2 bed room villa at the Westin Villa side. However, the Westin Villa part also has a nice view. We had a great time even with the hurricane for 2 days. One supervisor at the reception area was rude and not helpful, not consistent with Marriott standard, However, the rest of the staffs were friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet at Cocina Casera was not worth the $32 USD price since the food selection was limited and not tasty. Water is not included in the price. This was surprised to us since the food everywhere else was really good. I highly recommend El Ciruelo which offers delicious upscale food , stunning sunset view and great service from staff. Lunch from the Playa restaurant at the beach was fresh and with high quality.

So we booked a 1 night stay at the Westin Cabo San Lucas Oct 20th. We knew there was a Hurricane coming. Because it was not a high category hurricane we decided to stay one night at the Westin. They Quoted a price of $435 for the room online. Then when we tried to finalize the room rate they increased the rate to $635 . Finally after we called and complained they lowered the rate to $585 plus tax. We had no A/C that night and the next day we called several times to get help, they continued to say that someone would call us back they never did. The toilet started smelling of sewer gas they finally sent some one to the room to address A/C issue but couldn’t fix the issue. They continue to tell us that some one would call us back. The last time I called and asked to speak to a manager they said they would call us back in 10 minutes. They never called back. I get that the hurricane caused problems, but for the Westin ( Marriott property to treat there customers this way is not acceptable and people that own property with Marriott should be very upset that this has not been handled better. I am a Marriott owner as well and will be sending letter to Management complaining about the lack of help during a very stressful time at this property. Please do not buy any property from Marriott until they change the way they handle these types of issues during a very stressful time at Westin Cabo San Lucas.

There is no drinking water provided with the room, and there is no way to get water at night if you didn’t know you needed to bring your own water. Honestly this feels a little insane. I’ve never stayed in a hotel in which no drinking water was available.
Aside from this extremely disturbing health concern, the Baja point rooms are a ten minute walk to the real Westin, they don’t have chairs on the balcony’s and are extremely dated.
But really, having no access to drinking water is a complete deal breaker for me for staying here.

We had to move to a condo in the Westin Baja Point after Air Canada changes flight schedules for two nights. Jackelyne at Reception provided excellent service, and the two bedroom premium villa was comfortable with a superb view down the coast of the peninsula. Excellent dinner at the restaurant, and a shout out to Jose who remembered me from last year at another hotel!

Another great experience at Baja Point. We’ve had the pleasure of staying on both sides of the property (the Westin side and the Baja Point side) and enjoy returning as often as we can.
While the dining/menu options at the property are rather limited, especially for this size of resort, the staff here make up for it. Standouts include Augustino, Angel and Flower at the Baja Point pool, Sergio at the sports bar and Alfonso and Tomas (thanks for all the golf cart rides!) along with countless others.
The rooms are spacious and bright, the beach is stunning (and usually empty) and the views are picture perfect - just be prepared for lots of walking.
Hoping management would refresh the menus (some variety would be nice) but there’s plenty of options off-property if you have a car or are willing to Uber.
If you’re looking for a peaceful vacation with great views, Baja Point is your spot.

I had a 2bed/3bath villa at Baja Point and it was fabulous!! The space was immaculate - I loved the view from my balcony and the hot tub was just what I needed. The pools were wonderful with plenty of shaded chaise loungers. I went to the market to stock up with what I needed, so I did not eat at Cerulo (sp?) at Baja Point. On Tuesday evening, there was live music at the Sunset Lounge - a violinist, and she was excellent! I would have liked more events like this or a wine/tequila tasting. I spent some time at the Westin also - which was lovely but a bit younger and busier. The quiet and slower pace at Baja was just my speed. You need a car or hire a taxi because walking anywhere is out of the question unless its along the beach, which is rocky and beautiful but not swimmable. This space really lends itself to couples, families and groups of mature friends. I will definitely return.

This was our 1st time at the resort and had a wonderful room with a private hot tub. The staff did a great job communicating about Hurricane Hillary and asked all guests to stay in their rooms if possible. The accommodations at the pools and service was great along with the FUN team who kept you as busy as you liked. My only complaints is that the Baja Point should have a concierge on duty 7 days a week during the day. The other minor detail was the manager of the hotel's El Ciruelo restaurant. We tried to make a reservation on our 1st night and was flexible in both the time and seating area. His attitude was rude and when we passed the place to grab a bite at the sport's bar there were a number of tables available.

For our first time in Cabo we stayed at the Westin Baja point for 6 nights not knowing what to expect, and it really exceeded our expectations. The location is beautiful and the property is amazing. The people however were the stars. We had such great service from beginning to end. The greeters in front taking care of the transporation and bags were so friendly and helpful, Fernando and Alfonso were great. Ricardo at the front dest was delightful and quite informative with places to visit around the area. Luis in concierge was so wonderful, he provided such great service in where to go and what to do and was so willing to help with any activities and places to eat. He really went out of his way to make sure our time here was as good as can be. My girlfriend and I felt really taking care of with any of our needs. I really don't write a lot of reviews but when you get this kind of service you just have to make sure that the people get recognized. We are already booked to come back in 3 months for another wonderful stay. Can't wait!
