Named in honor of St. Christopher, patron of travelers, surfers, sailors and protector during long journeys, Hotel San Cristobal Punta Lobos sits on the beach on the southwestern edge of the Baja peninsula in Todos Santos, Mexico. Positioned along the Tropic of Cancer and framed by the Sierra de la Laguna mountains, Punta Lobos, and the Pacific Ocean, there is something about the quality of light. Please note: the hotel allows children over the age of 12.

This hotel is in an exceptional location with exceptional staff and food. I’ve stayed here many times and am always happy to see they haven’t lost their magic. It’s a 45 minute drive from the Cabo airport to tranquility and beauty and great food and drinks. The service is incredible . Miguel and Octavio took great care of us at all our meals . The food is fresh, authentic and delicious. Our go-tos were choyero for breakfast, shrimp salad for lunch and scallops and gnocchi for dinner. Best food in the area for sure ! We stay in the sea queen suite which faces the ocean . You sleep listening to the ocean at night . It is paradise .

First it was suggested we use TS Private Transportation from Cabo to the hotel. Be prepared to pay USD200.00 one way plus you can add on an ice chest for beer and water for an extra 45.00. Secondly the property is beautiful and they think of every comfort for you; nice deep couches with good pillows. Blankets for cooler nights. They were always checking on us and making sure fires were going. We were there for a family wedding so we had the entire hotel rented out for this event. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Food was fantastic. If you host a wedding there be sure to inquire about having an after party at the ruins. Wow. What a way to end a wedding. The hotel went above and beyond to make a one of kind wedding for the happy couple. Water pressure in the shower was so nice. Big walk in shower. High-end bath products; hair dryer; NO TV’s in rooms but we weren’t there to watch tv. The only fly in the ointment was their concierge services. Left emails with them prior to us arriving about a couple of things and they do not respond, so you’re better off trying to call them. They do have a shuttle service but is used more for shuttling guests to/from Todos.

Just returned from my second stay here (first was in 2019). For me this is the perfect hotel- stunning, private location highlighting the stark natural beauty of the area. Stylish, comfortable rooms. Not too big/crowded. Other guests are friendly and having fun but in a relaxed way (not a screaming party scene). Not to mention- the food and drinks are excellent and the staff are so incredibly warm and welcoming. I have not yet explored much around the area as I chose to enjoy the property during my stays. Perfect easy long weekend getaway. One change since my previous trip- looks like they are now allowing children. This is a minor disappointment since there are so many places for families to stay but relatively few havens for grown ups to enjoy a peaceful moment. As a kid I think I would find this spot a little boring too! I do plan to return in future. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful stay.

We spent 5 nights at this amazing hotel mid-March 2023. Couldn't have asked for a better holiday. First off, the hotel itself is in a stunning location. Right on the beach, with amazing views (including of whales) and sunsets like you have never seen. Right behind the hotel is a hill with several hiking trails. We'd have a nice breakfast at Benno's (restaurant hotel), and take a nice hike. 90 - 120 minutes depending on how far you want to go. At the top, you get a gorgeous view of the old port, with turquoise water. You can walk down to the beach there too. Solid workout but nothing crazy. Lunch at the poolside restaurant was terrific. Amazing guac served in a mortar with the best chips. Their fish and shrimp tacos are delicious. Plenty of juices and of course, alcoholic beverages. The pool is beautiful with two jacuzzis sort of built into the pool. They even have a bibliotheca with a tiny record player, a nice bar, and plenty of activities. We enjoyed playing Mexican bingo, even won a bunch of drinks. Dinner at the restaurant - we ate there most nights - is terrific. We're pescatarian and after trying most of their seafood dishes, we asked if they could make us something off menu twice. They graciously obliged and these were amazingly good. Try their fish in a green mole - it's like nothing you get in the US. And they have something called corn ribs, which was spectacular. The sommelier, Sergio, is incredibly knowledgeable about not just local wines, but wines from all over the world. The rooms are generously sized and very comfortable with a balcony; ours even had a bonus outdoor shower. And here's the best part - while everything was superb, what makes it so entirely special is the staff. They are all wonderful people, expressing genuine warmth and grace, and always leaping to help, whether it is moving the umbrella to get you a little more shade or sun, to seeing you coming out of the pool and racing over with a towel, to checking in if you need anything. this is an incredibly high level of service with a layer of genuineness that you won't see at other hotels. even when they are very good. I'd like to give a shout out to Brenda and Orlando by the pool who are just amazing, Sergio (mentioned above), Bruno and Bryan, who served us often, and Carlos and Enrique! I'm missing a few names, but you will not find better service and warmth anywhere. As a small property, and one where the typical guest spends a lot of time on property, the staff make all the difference. The last think I will say is that the guests at the hotel also add to the experience. We met some really interesting people there and there's something about the activities and layout of the place that encourages the guests to interact. All in all, couldn't ask for a better experience. Thank you to the staff of Hotel San Cristobal. Until next time.

I stopped to see the hotel and grab some lunch. Perfect! The service was great - Rosie (sweet potato) was wonderful and attentive. I ordered a glass of vino verde and some shrimp tacos. It was quiet and the perfect setting but the food was just as lovely. If you’re heading to Cerritos for a beach day, make a stop for lunch - you won’t regret it.

A very isolated hotel. Lovely staff. Good food. The location is a bit of a problem. thoughSomething was awry the minute we went to the beach. Why was there tension between the local fishermen and ...us? The tourists? We did our research and you owe it to yourself to do so as well...otherwise we remain ignorant travelers. The internet will provide the information regarding the hotel's controversial beginnings.

Ahhh this place! Not only is this a beautiful, serene setting with the sound of waves crashing, blue ocean water, hip design, a gorgeous pool and attentive servers… but it’s more than a boutique hotel. Another review said it’s a community, and I understand that now that I’ve experienced it. They’ve built a culture of warmth and service, and if you want to be part of the community, bienvenidos. (Or you can be left alone if that’s your vibe!) We booked this trip for my bf’s birthday, and I spoke to the concierge staff in advance. When we arrived, they wished him “feliz cumpleaños” immediately and had a negroni ready in moments. (I had forgotten they had asked me on the phone what his favorite drink was so it surprised me too!) This personal and thoughtful feel is how our long weekend continued. We said we hoped to experience the local food and people- so Carlo the concierge organized a food tour that was one of the highlights of our trip. In a private taxi, he accompanied us to 3 or 4 different local palapa-covered roadside restaurants and an artisan workshop. Carlo translated and told stories from his childhood, explaining how and when people eat this type of food, and in some cases they let us try preparing it! He told us it was only his second time doing this food tour- but that he had a passion for the food and people in Todos Santos and he loved being able to share his culture with guests. What a treat! Speaking of food, the hotel restaurant Benno is incredible – the food rivals anything from Los Angeles or other foodie towns (try the green mole daily fish special or the mushroom risotto at dinner and the machaca mini burritos at breakfast!), but it’s the Benno team’s service that makes it extra special. We were lucky to have Edna as our very warm and happy server each night (she’s thrilled to be doing her “dream job” and it shows!) and Diana made me the most amazing spicy margarita – she figured out exactly how tart and how spicy I liked it and delighted in my satisfaction with her talents. She also made my boyfriend’s negronis perfectly. We asked how—she said she makes her drinks with love and I believe it. And Sergio the wine sommelier knows his stuff- Mexican wines can rival that of Napa if you have the right guide! For the day of my bf’s birthday I wanted to do an extra special brunch, so I enlisted Carlo’s help. He kept everything a secret but that morning… wow! The staff all knew his name and that it was his birthday! We were blown away by the thoughtful touches to his birthday brunch, set up at a quiet, private ocean-front table with a view to die for. Omar our server made my boyfriend feel like a celebrity- he was one of the many, many staff-members Carlo had coordinated with to make it special. To top it off, the food and the cake (baked in house by Lupita) was deliciously gluten-free… because he knew I was GF …! That blew my mind. Summary 1. The hotel is small and the concierge staff is EXCELLENT at personalizing the trip to your desires. Tell them in advance what you’d like to do and see. If they know a little about you and what you hope to gain from the trip, they can personalize the trip even more. 2. Get to know the staff. Take the time to ask them their names and a little about them. They’re amazing people and so kind. 3. Rooms are simple but more than adequate. You won’t spend that much time inside, anyway. Most, if not all, have an outdoor deck or patio off the bedroom area. 4. Beds are very comfortable and the sheets are top notch. If you need something, the staff are there within moments. Freshly baked cookies or sweets are delivered to the rooms each night, which is a nice touch. 5. Eat at Benno! Okay to go out too, but no other local menu was as tasty and creative as Benno. Service is stellar! Thank you again Hotel San Cristobal. ¡Hasta muy pronto!

We had a fabulous week here. The food and drinks are fresh and delicious. The views are spectacular -including of the migrating whales. The rooms are clean and comfortable - although tbh the ocean view rooms were very loud because of the big January surf. But that’s hardly a complaint. The staff are helpful and friendly. Carlo, the concierge, planned a food tour experience for us - tasting the favorite foods of the locals, and hearing their stories - that was really the highlight of our trip. We highly recommend you ask for this experience. We also loved our cooking class with chef Ramon - it was a demonstration class and we learned how to prepare a fish and make ceviche and sashimi. We enjoyed many other offerings at the hotel - hiking, yoga, bingo and relaxing. The only thing I would say is sometimes the music at the pool is just too much. Just enjoying the sounds of the ocean is nice too.
