Value
On 5,000 acres, extending inland from 5km of pristine Mexican Pacific coastline, Cuixmala and its 40 total rooms comprise an extraordinary eco-resort where the boundaries separating humankind from nature are dissolved. Lush jungle and coconut palm groves roll into sweeping savannahs and lagoons, where protected wildlife, from zebras to crocodiles, roam free. Sensitively interwoven with the natural landscape, terracotta dwellings emerge above the sea of green, acting as beacons guiding guests through the estate. Private beaches, horseback riding, surfing, wellness and more all await travelers looking for a Mexico experience like no other.

I stayed here in November for my birthday and it was
The best trip. The hotel staff - Janet and Jennifer, Ramon a the beach and boat captain, Saul, Marcos and Alex the chef who made sure to prepare my vegan meals based on my dietary restrictions. Everyone is extremely attentive!! I was traveling solo and flew in from PVR on their private charter flights which is worth it and saves time driving
To the resort. I stayed for 3 nights before heading somewhere else and wish it was longer. I
Stayed in the horse suite which is spacious and beautiful. While at the resort I went horse back-riding, a boat ride, hung out at the beach (I recommend renting a car) and the beach veggie food was delicious, yoga (was great), and turtle release. I would definitely come back and stay a bit longer. My
only con is there’s not a full service gym. Thanks Cuixmala for making my birthday special!

This hotel has so many activities that for the price it is such a good value. We went on a lagoon tour, property tour (must do!), did horseback riding, etc. The staff are really nice too.

The best meal we had was at Playa Caleta Blanca, and the nicest beach on property.

You do need a 4x4 Jeep to get around the property. You can bring your own car or rent from them starting at $130/day.

My only complaint is that the bathroom style is too old-school (my preference). The showers should be walk-in showers instead of the shower/tub combination that they have in cheaper hotels.

The Cuixmala resort is simply paradise. We stayed in a beautiful casita with a view of the ocean and the hills. The house was beautifully decorated with attention to every little detail. The staff made sure that we could join several great activities - like the release of baby turtles into the ocean! The food was amazing. We are vegetarians and after a small disappointment with the lack of choice on the menu, the head chef developed a daily vegetarian menu.

We have been driving by Cuixmala for years and we knew we had to experience the property…it did not disappoint! The property is vast and eco-focused with bamboo fields and little to no use of plastic. The architecture of the main residence and our bungalow is breathtaking, like something we have not experienced in all of our travels. Everything is immaculate. The interior design is so perfect. We took the ATV tour to see crocodiles and birds galore. We saw the wildlife from the restaurant terrace that also shares sweeping views of the ocean. We took a boat out to whale watch and it may be the nicest cleanest boat we have ever been on. And yes we saw whales. The pool experience is a must. We spent a day at the beach that you have to drive 30 mins to but its worth it. I snorkeled and enjoyed cocktails and a yummy lunch. Oh and don’t miss the boutique!! Everyone should experience Cuixmala.

Stayed 4 nights on the Horse Suite. The property is incredible, the service is beyond top notch, the house is out of this world. It does not feel like a hotel, more like your billionaire friend’s house where you help pay for the stay costs, food or drinks. It is hard to describe the distinct experience.

This is what every ultra-luxury hotel should strive for in every way: the service, feeling and experience. I sincerely hope they never ever change and keep doing what they are doing so far.

The most amazing beach property with breathtaking views, the best service my wife and I have ever received, fantastic food, and offer very unique activities for their guests. From the horse back riding along side zebras, spending the day at one of their luxurious private beaches, to touring the property where you learn about how Cuixmala is a self sustaining property.

I would highly recommend visiting Cuixmala to anyone looking for a beautiful, luxurious, and memorable vacation.

Our recent stay at your resort was marred by persistent delays in the chauffeur service. Unfortunately, these delays led to us missing our scheduled spa appointment, significantly diminishing our overall experience. We are paying for a five-star resort and the chauffeur service really affected our stay.

This place is magical. We enjoyed (part 2) of our honeymoon in this beautiful place. The staff's hospitality is OFF THE charts, the food amazing, and the entire place is even more beautiful in person. I found this place on Architectural Digest and I was sold. We were graciously upgraded to the Horse Suite in Casa Cuixmala which was an absolute dream.
We went on a sunrise deep fishing trip, and the Capitan Ramon (he even cooked us an amazing meal from our day's catch). We went horseback riding with Alejandro - the best caballerango. We'd never been horseback riding before, but he was awsome. All of the staff went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. We can't wait to go back!

Before booking at Cuixmala one needs to:

1) Be comfortable with the risks of travelling to Jalisco and Colima (where the nearest airport is located)

2) Consider the hotel’s onerous cancellation policy, and

3) Be aware that this is a family owned hotel with an approach to guest relations which I have never had the misfortune to experience before..

I contacted the hotel about six weeks before arrival to cancel due to security concerns. My subsequent conversations with the hotel’s management left me very glad not to be staying there.

In a country where there are so many lovely hotels with extremely friendly staff, their approach was quite a shock.

Amazing property with lot of activities. Casa cuixmala is really a WOW experience. The architecture and location is jaw-dropping. Also the beach is super nice but the road there was a bit rough so it might get tiring if you go there several days.

Answer from Cuixmala
Dear Gizelle In regards to the smoking policy, as the casita are semi open allowing for fresh air to circulate within in the whole casita. This has prevented any smells to linger for the next guests.

No, the swimming beach is a 15min drive away but private and gorgeous. The other beach closer to the casitas is reachable by bike or golf cart but because of the currents you cannot swim there. We released the baby turtles from that beach.
