It is a small hotel, it does not have a beach or a beach club, however it has very good facilities, clean, spacious, the pool is heated, it is beautiful and it has relaxing ambient sound. If you go as a family with children it is fine, the pool is open until 10 at night, the rooms in front of the pool only need to put a double curtain to have a little privacy. I don't remember having seen a ramp for the disabled, although it is not that difficult to access the rooms, it will always be necessary. Since we arrived, excellent service, our check-in was at 3 p.m., as the room was available, they allowed us to enter from 9:30 a.m. without any problem or extra charge. Very comfortable rooms and despite being in front of the pool, they have very good control over the hours of use of the pool to be able to rest. Very clean, heated and very large pool. The hotel had lovely views and the pool was amazing at night. The pictures were misleading as the room was not true to the pictures and overall could use some updating. I'd suggest perhaps some better quality amenities (soap, shampoo, body lotion etc) would be a nice touch as well. Perhaps a grab and go breakfast buffet option with fruit, yogurt and some pastries might be a great idea for those that don't eat much in the morning and also would take pressure off the restaurant staff. The beds were also very firm and uncomfortable.
The one super disappointing thing was that upon checking in, the hotel staff assumed I didn't speak Spanish (which was true) so they started gossiping about us in Spanish in front of me. The thing they neglected to consider was that my friend was Venezuelan and could understand everything they said. A younger lady at reception came by as we were checking in and commented about how handsome we were. Then Ricardo (front desk agent) said, don't worry honey, they don't play for your team (which was a dig at us being gay). I find this super inappropriate and had I not been so exhausted, I would have just gone to another hotel. It's also super unfortunate as I'm a travel agent and could have send a ton of business their way, but now because of this experience, I obviously won't.
I'd recommend some hospitality training for the staff as their behaviour was both inappropriate and offensive. Note for next time, maybe ask if anyone speaks Spanish before you gossip about them.

Great views, food and service at Princess Mayev! All the staff at the front desk, in the restaurant, the housekeeping staff and even the groundkeepers greet you each day with a smile. The grounds, rooms and pool area are kept neat and tidy daily. Food at the Xima restaurant is all delicious and great service whether you are dining there for breakfast, lunch or supper. We enjoying coming back and also getting to know the other guests who return each year. Will be back next year! Thanks to Ricardo and staff for a great vacation!

We visited at the begining of October and fell in love. The hotel was better than we expected. The view is like living in a postcard, the pools are super clean, the staff is very helpful, the distance from everwhere was great and if you need a taxi the hotel calls one for you (only $35 pesos to town!!!) . Chahue is very close by and although it is not recommended for swimming, a walk on the beach is amazing. We walked there and were lucky to see turtles being released!!! I really recommend them! 1 bad thing- I don't recommend the bahia tour that they recommended. The Macho one was very lacking in information about the bahias, the restaurant they take you to charges a surprise $50 peso service fee, and they didn't take us to 3 bahias but only 2. The whole thing felt off.

This was not our first place to stay at, but it is special to my wife and I primarily to the staff and their assistance to accommodate us whenever possible. Our room was one of their semi-huts w/ a private pool overlooking the mountains, plant and tree life. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the dual sinks were a bonus for us to wash up! There was a good amount of space inside and the private patio was relaxing too. We were visited by Geckos and tropical birds on the deck and the AC was a lifesaver!
The staff at the front desk who we became acquainted when we would stop by were Antonio and Aidee. They were very nice, friendly and helpful in providing pickup service from local taxis, sharing information about where to go and cost along with just being available to assist us while staying at the hotel.
I wasn't feeling good with my health and it started after a couple of days of arriving, so the staff and the restaurant upstairs were so kind and thoughtful to bring added comfort to me. When my wife was not feeling well, she was treated with the same amount of attention that I was given, so we were fortunate and grateful to be in their good hands.
One of the highlights to our trip was when we had missed our flight Antonio was able to set us up with a room for an extra night, so we were lucky to be able to stay at the same place but a different room! We are thankful and appreciative to the staff especially Antonio and Aidee and of course of Princess Mayev as well!
A great staff from being professional to personal care. We will always remember the good experiences and if you haven't stayed here before...you should try it!

It was honestly a little slow especially during the afternoon. Apparently it is like this everywhere in Huatulco not only at the hotel. Work might be a little tricky at times. Not a Princess Mayev thing though.
There are more places to choose from in the Huatulco area.
