Las Brisas Huatulco captivates numerous guests with its picturesque location and easy beach access, though a few mention the pools could be larger. The hotel earns high marks for cleanliness, with travelers regularly complimenting the well-maintained rooms and grounds. While the rooms offer stunning views and ample space, some visitors feel updates are needed and report occasional maintenance issues. The hotel presents a mix of opinions regarding value; some guests find it reasonable, but others take issue with additional costs. The amenities, including various beaches and activities, are a hit, but securing a beach chair early is advised. Service is generally well-regarded, with staff described as friendly and shuttles efficient, though not without the odd delay. The atmosphere is lively with entertainment options, yet some suggest room for improvement in the music and entertainment areas.

Speaking to our taxi driver in Huatulco it seemed clear that this resort was one of two that was the best bang for your buck. We felt that in comparison to food we've had in other resorts in Mexico (Cancun, Mazatlan) the food in this resort was quite good. We really enjoyed the Mexican food on the resort which hasn't always been the case at resorts. The beach, bar facilities and pool were gorgeous, perfectly located and could not use many improvements. I was blown away by cleanliness of the resort. It took me a few days to realize it was Fall because they were so fast at cleaning up any type of debris from the paths and pool. This resort is slightly dated in its look and layout and one thing I noticed (probably because I had a potty training toddler) was that washrooms weren't always in the most convenient of locations, but not enough that it would stop me from go back. The other small comment I would have is that most basic rooms did not have balconies which would have been nice with children having to go to bed early and also for drying clothes, obviously I can understand that it's not an easy design feature to just add. The mountainous nature of the resort is worth mentioning but we had seniors and small children in our party and were happy enough sometimes walking and sometimes using the shuttle service. The shuttle drivers were very helpful and friendly. The resort was not too far from anything and was a great place to relax and unwind.

I feel like this resort was very good for the price and I would not hesitate to return.

This was our third trip to Huatulco (had stayed at Dreams and the Barceló) but our first time at this hotel. We will return! Most of the guests were repeat visitors and I can see why. The three beaches are beautiful and easy to access, the weather is hot, the food and drinks are very good, the landscape is very interesting and the staff is friendly and hardworking. Highlights for me were running along the beach walkway each morning, reading under the palapa, floating in the waves, eating spicy tacos, sipping mojitos, dining in the a la carte restaurants and playing board games in the lobby in the evening. Highlights for my husband were snorkelling over the reef right off two of the three beaches, playing beach volleyball and listening to podcasts under the palapa. The wifi was very good all over the resort which is not always the case at these resorts. We dined at four of the five a la carte restaurant and each meal was delicious. I can't say which was our favourite because we liked them all. To be noted, the Kasbah restaurant (Moroccan food) is delicious but the tables are at knee height which I found very quaint but which may not appeal to everyone. The buffet was varied and there was always seafood and fish for my husband and spicy tacos for me. I liked that they had at least two white wines (chardonnay and sauvignon blanc) and two rosés; I did not try the red but it was very popular. The coffee was strong and the morning pastries and omelets were delicious. There are a few vendors on the beach but not too many. All were very pleasant and not pushy. We took a taxi to La Crucecita (80 pesos there and 60 pesos return) to do a wee bit of shopping and to have a beer. It is not touristy. Buy a kilo of coffee to take home if you are a coffee drinker like me! The downside of the resort might be the hills. The rooms are very far away and up steep hills from the beaches. We climbed a million stairs on this holiday. My husband and I liked the exercise and only took the golf cart transport when we had our luggage to carry but most guests whizzed around on these carts quickly and easily around the resort. Our room was large and comfortable. The beds and pillows and AC were great. Our mini bar fridge worked some days but we didn't really use it. Four small bottles of water are provided daily in the room and these bottles are available at every bar and restaurant. Yes, we will return.

Back to Brisas 14 years later. We came to this resort in 2010 and we were curious how it changed compared to back then. We have been to secrets, barcello and dreams since then.
We love the huatulco area so here's what we thought.
Pros.
-25 min from airport.
-Rooms were partually updated, bathrooms still need some work. We stayed in their basic room in Nubes section 3223, it was clean, a comfy king bed, ocean view with a large window, mini fridge with beers, pop & water restocked daily. AC worked fine ( a little loud but you get used to it), ceiling fan, walk in shower.

-Service was excellent everywhere, from the cleaning staff, waiters, bar tenders, sports beach workers everyone was excellent.

-Drinks were mostly consistent and very good, my favorite was the mango margarita. And if you want a espresso/ cappuccino just ask at any food area.
-Food at buffet was good, nice variety and always tasty.
Snack bar is great for basic natchos, tortillas, burgers etc.
A la cartes were very good, we tried 3 Mediterranean, Seafood and Solarium.

-We didn't use pool.(we are ocean people) but we did put our toes in and it was very warm and seemed like a lot of activities happening

-The 3 beaches were amazing (best in all the hotel zone), snorkel beach was full of beautiful fish, a turtle, a sting ray...again amazing.
Family beach was shallow and perfect for children and more nervous ocean people.
Sports beach was our main choice, great swimming area plus all the toys such as paddle boards, kayaks, Hobbie cats.
There were plenty loungers and never had a problem finding a chair. There is also drink servers always asking if we would like anything.

Entertainment was great, there was a live band or dj every night to dance to.. Shows were quite good as well.

Cons
- too many people smoking all over the resort, usually in a family resort smoking is quite restricted.
-If you aren't very mobile you will struggle to get around this resort. There is a tonne of walking, there are trams constantly driving around always ready yo bring you to your room and back, but it would still be a challenge for many., But we were totally fine and welcomed the exercise.
-If you want a balcony you will have to upgrade $$$. Otherwise just a window.

In conclusion would I return??
Yes I absolutely would, but at the right price point, until some updating and renovation on rooms and facilities it should be kept at a reasonable price.

Third time to Huatulco, first time at this resort. We are a couple in our seventies. First impression at check-in…. Mayhem! People and golf carts everywhere! Booked the upgrade to a Brisas Club room, we thought it was worth it as it gives you seven alacart dinners, a small club room for a more private breakfast and happy hour, partial sea view and a larger unit with a balcony. Room was in the Sea Block. This is a huge resort, need golf carts to get around. We did a lot of walking and only called for a cart a few times. If you have any mobility issues, stay away, heard several people very anxious about transport. Having said that they were very prompt when called. From our room we could walk to the Ventura Beach, one of four beaches, sadly you had to have your towel on a beach chair before 6:30 am! Stupidity! The beach chairs are very old and very worn, need replacing. Birds are a nuisance, especially if all you can find is a back row chair under a tree for shade! We moved to the adult pool after a few days and found that more comfortable and less busy but not as shaded. Food was mediocre. Breakfast was good, omelette station, fruit, lots of choice. Only ate at the dinner buffet once and once was enough, don’t care cafeteria style eating. Mediterranean restaurant was the best food we had. Met many Canadians who have been coming here for years. Personally we found it too large, too busy - many families, mainly Mexican and too loud - many weddings. Huatulco is very hot, 34 degrees most days, lots of mosquitoes too, so be prepared. This resort enjoys a beautiful location, has the whole bay, was formerly a Club Med, and it is close to the airport - 20 mins. So has lots to offer but it just wasn’t our thing.

We stayed atLas Brisas April 14-21 on Air Canada Vacations. Everything at the front desk went smoothly and checking was a breeze, warm welcoming staff! After checking in, went to the concierge desk to book some a la carte dinners, also a breeze and were met again by receptive, friendly staff!
Our room was in the mountain section and had wonderful views. The room itself was very clean and spacious. King bed was very comfortable. Air conditioning worked well, which was needed because it was extremely hot throughout the week. Shower had great water pressure and ample hot water morning or evening. Fridge was stocked daily with a couple beer, cans of pop and bottled water. There is a coffee maker with coffee pods restocked daily. Room service is also available for a charge.
There were many beaches to choose from and we never had an issue with getting chairs. In fact we had a palapa every beach day arriving around 11am. Swimming conditions were good at most of the beaches. There is one beach near the Mexican restaurant where there is a little reef not too far out that one can snorkel. Bar service on the beach was amazing and staff were extremely attentive!
Food in the a la cartes were good, lots of great choices and prepared nicely. Service was 5 star! The Buffet at Las Brisas is perhaps one of the best buffets I have been to - great selection of Mexican and International fare.
One night we arranged ($) for a private dinner on the secret beach with lobster, Wow, so worth every penny - would highly recommend especially if you are celebrating something special!
Entertainment in the bar was quite good, one evening there was a woman singing what I would say were Mexican classics - she was by far one of the best singers I have heard at a resort - truly amazing!
Sometimes there would be a line at the main bar but it did move quickly and if you had a seat at a table there were bar stewards to take your order and they rounded frequently.
What I loved most about this resort was it had such amazing Mexican charm, it reminded me of past stays in Mexico from the 1990s. While the resort is decorated in older traditional Mexican decor, everything is extremely well cared for and unbelievably clean. This is one of the cleanest, if not THE cleanest resorts I have seen, from public bathrooms, to bar areas, to pool area, to walkways, to stairs, to restaurants - other resorts could follow the Las Brisas standard!
The only thing to consider with Las Brisas is it is built on a hill so there are multiple stairs, they do have golf carts to take you around if you have mobility issues, however if you are like me, the stairs are a good way to work off the margaritas, dos equis on tap, copious amounts of Oaxaca cheese, alambres, Tlayludas and mole!
Thank you to the Las Brisas staff and management for such a great stay - we will be back!

I stayed at this resort as part of a group for a birthday celebration and had the best time! Had the superior deluxe room #2103 and was pleasantly surprised to get an ocean view. The room was kept very clean with lots of towels and wash cloths. The mini bridge had a few light beers, pop, water, juice, and potato chips. The bathroom had lots of counter space and a wand in the shower that was great for rinsing sand off, etc. Our room was down a set of twenty steps with only one room across from us so it was very quiet and private. Only downsides were that the bathroom lighting was rather dim and the thermostat was not adjustable-I would have liked it a bit cooler at night. There was a ceiling fan that we kept on all the time.
The grounds at this resort are stunning but as most reviews say, there’s a lot of hills/stairs to climb. Shuttles were plentiful though. The beaches are lovely-no need leave the resort to visit any other beaches. Some of our group snorkelled in the ocean and we also brought floaties to bob around in the water. I did not use the main pool but the adult’s only was very quiet and a nice temperature.
We found the food at the al la cartes to be hit or miss with some of our group liking different meals wherever we went. The main buffet was great with lots of options and we also enjoyed breakfast at the Mexican restaurant which was nearest to our room which was located in the Estrelles section.
One of the best things about Las Brisas is the staff! Other than a rather unfriendly waiter at the Solarium restaurant they were all so friendly and helpful!! Beach server Xochi was amazing as well as Andy (Adele?) from the activities team. The people doing the painting/pottery were also great.
Unless you’re mobility challenged I’d

I share with you my honest experience as always, upon arriving they told me that my room would take a while because they were cleaning it. They delivered it to me at 3:10 pm and when I arrived the first thing I saw were strands of hair around the room and due to some situation I moved the chair and There were a lot of toilet papers, a few days later I was taking a bath and I felt something fall on me and when I looked back at the ceiling something super disgusting was dripping down.
Regarding the food, it is honestly not as it appears in its advertising, the truth is that I had to see closed islands and literally empty pots. Apart from that, it said that there was a buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner and for 2 days there was no buffet.
I tell you that I don't know why the soft drinks in the bars don't have real gas. I don't understand why, but in my meal, half of the food buffet is snacks. I don't know why if there is already a snack restaurant, maybe they do it to refill it, but yes. That meal is very bad. I asked the waitress to give me 1 canned coke as a favor, so I already told you what she told me, let me see if Pulcera saw it and she told me that the canned soft drinks were not included, to which I told him I have everything included and in my room if I have them, they can't give me one here to eat and "he told me that then I should go to my room to get my canned coke if I had them" then they explained to me that there is everything included basic, plus and I don't know what else but this is not mentioned, only the teeth rooms are not different, all inclusive.
In my case I take my mother who is a senior citizen and there is something called special transportation for which I want to congratulate José's attention and kindness in serving seniors and disabled people who are super flexible and tolerant.
Well, the best part of the breakfast buffet was the Bellavista restaurant, Erika's must-try quesadillas were super delicious and the girl always serves you well and with a smile.
At the manzanilla bar on the beach I recommend Lucina or Lucinda, I don't remember well, but she really gives you great attention in drinks and snacks on that beach.
Regarding the snack restaurant, well you have to go dry so that they let you pass even if there are tables outside 3so very bad because it's not that you leave the pool or sea for a long time, it's just for a snack anyway.
The best thing about the hotel is the beautiful beaches, the best I have ever seen.
How did I say the food is very bad?
If you ask me if I recommend it for people with disabilities or the elderly, taking advantage of the great attention of the special transportation, I would say no since everything is very far away, the bathrooms, etc., and well, the carts don't take you from the beach to the bathrooms or the bar. from one to the other they have to walk and everything is removed.
To go with friends or a partner or people with a particular physical condition, it could be if they are not very demanding with food or drinks.

The place has a lot of potential, the Brisas chain is very prestigious and the landscapes they have are incredible.
Suggestion to take care of the service, the people are very friendly and serve perfectly, but they are few for the number of people
For example, at the pool there was only one waiter.
Reservations in the restaurants are few and if you take the last shift, the waiters begin to clear up the service and even kindly ask you for transportation. They must think that meal time when you travel as a family are the moments of conversation and after-dinner meals.
The rooms are very dark I wish they could use lighter colors or white
The cleaning of the room I think they only made the beds and did not clean the floors
We asked for room service and they did not pick it up even when they were cleaning it (service was requested in the early morning and was picked up the same day at around 10:00 p.m.)
Suggestion in the kit area, they could place a mesh that mitigates the sun for the children, the pool gives them 100% sun
Also dynamic parents and children to provide coexistence in the end what you sell are experiences.
If it is a daycare center, comment on both options.

Multiple beaches and just enough room around the pools to not feel overcrowded (when we went). We were upgraded to a "honeymoon" suite which had a fantastic view and a spa tub on the balcony. The bed was king and very comfortable, A/C worked great and a huge shower. The trade off is that the room was the farthest you could get from EVERYTHING and required a trolley cart to drive you to all the food, pools, beaches, lobby.... this is kinda fun at first, but you really have to plan ahead to make sure you don't forget something in the room and have to make another round trip on a cart. The pool was a very comfortable temperature, but the depth was about 54 inches which is too deep for "vertically challenged" people who don't swim! The only refuge were the long steps at one end of the pool which is where all the parents/kids congregate. The specialty restaurants were only marginally better than the buffet - which is not saying a lot. My husband and I had to reject at least three items in different restaurants because they were inedible / could not cut meat with a steak knife/ broken dish served with desert.... Ended up going back to the buffet to fill our bellies a few times.
The property is huge (about 25 acres) and the picturesque location is wonderful. The staff were very friendly and service was good (free mini bar restocked daily), although our request for an extra balcony chair was never fulfilled. The Concierge was a life saver when I needed my phone charged up!

I only gave it a 3 because the Bell Boys did not put my luggage on the bus when we were leaving. I was travelling with 5 other women and all their luggage was loaded on the bus but mine was not. At the airport the representative from our bus phoned the resort for my bag and told me I would have to pay $45 U.S. for a taxi to bring my one bag to the airport. I told her the resort should pay but she insisted they wouldn't. The taxi arrived with my bag and wouldn't give it to me until I paid him. I said the resort would pay him but he wouldn't give me my bag until I paid him. Please make sure you put your bags on the bus yourself. I am returning for 2 weeks in January and will be putting mine on for sure. Other than that the resort is beautiful. I was in a Junior suite and it was very spacious with a nice view of the ocean. and a second door to the bedroom that automatically locks if you close it. So if you leave the bedroom to go to the sitting area be sure to leave the door open or leave a key in the sitting area so you can get back into the bedroom if the door is closed. I left a small tip on the bed and in the mini fridge and the room was very clean and the fridge stocked well. The AC worked well but is quite noisy. Some of my group were in the deluxe rooms and were disappointed they didn't have a balcony, not the resorts fault their travel agent should've advised them. Some of the staff speak English fairly well, others not so much. We were a group of 6 adults and had some dinner orders arrive incorrect, but we didn't stress about it, just ate what we got. The roast beef at the buffet is absolutely wonderful!!! So tender and tasty. The adult pool is a great place to relax, however there is not enough loungers so it's very hard to get a spot to sit there. The seating areas do not have any signs indicating "adults only" so their were often children sitting there when there were plenty of loungers at the general area pool. I'd like to see some signs go up to help the adults only have more access to available loungers. One day a couple went into the adults only with their baby in a diaper. The worker at the towel shack watched them go in but turned her back and didn't ask them to leave. Not a deal breaker for going back - just surprised she didn't ask them politely to leave. Again, "adults only" signs likely would've prevented this as there is only one and it's on the wall on the side of the pool. The beach here is beautiful, very swimmable and there is a small reef so the snorkeling is excellent. I saw so many different fish! The loungers at the beach fill up fast but there is a very nice grassy area just behind them that is nice to sit on and you can still see the ocean. We've been to Secrets Hualtuco and we prefer Las Brisas, it's not as fancy and not as pampered to but the staff and the other guests are so amazingly friendly that we prefer Las Brisas. I'm looking forward to returning to the Beach Club Suites area fir 2 weeks and really hoping that management will fill my request for 2 beds in the room.

Send an email and they are pretty good at answering questions. Even if you can't get at hotel the pharmacies in town (real close) you can buy it cheap. Trip Advisor won't let me enter email address but it is on their website.
