This resort has everything you need. The ocean is calm and safe to swim and snorkle in. The resort has a lot of stairs. It is built into the side of a hill. There are shuttles but the road is narrow and windy and it is scary for your knees and feet dangling beside the rock walls.

Resort was decent...weather was fabulous....rooms were basic but clean. Lots of walking so have a good pair of walking shoes. Didn't use the pools ... was there for the beaches which there were three to choose from. Seems to be a resort that lots of Mexicans vacation at. Food

The resort was a beautiful location. Your own snorkel bay is a plus. Lots of room to roam around the extensive grounds. We did all the hills and stairs, but shuttles available constantly. Staff was excellent.

The property is a bit dated, but, is very well maintained. The property covers a large area and is spread out but this is not a problem as the transportation is always readily available. Food is very good resort style fare and the service exceptional. A big thanks to Juan and

We have a party of seven , how do the al la carts work? How many cups does the coffee maker hold? If we bring our own coffee do we need filters
coffee makers in the rooms are tasimo's single cup. ala carts you can book all of them at one time depending how long you are staying. All the restaurants can seat 7 no problem.

We definitely want a balcony. Do we need to book a junior suite
Junior Suites have balconies, as do all the rooms in the Mar section (known as Beach Club suites). There are scattered balconies available in some of the other categories, but not reliably so. If a balcony is a must have, then book a category where that is included. I like the Beach Club rooms (which are about a $500 USD upgrade per week over regular category), as it includes the balcony, is a larger room (huge actually), includes unlimited ala cartes (all other categories are limited in reservations), and access to a club room for a continental breakfast and appetizers/drinks in the afternoon. I thought the upgrade was "worth it" but everyone draws that value proposition differently. HTH

We are arriving dec 30 and would like to know what is available for New Year’s Eve meals and parties. Do we need to book in advance. We are beach club guests? I tried emailing but got no response?
Zika + pregnancy I have a tripped planned here in Jan but found out I'm pregnant. Have you had any reported cases of ta here?
After the height of the outbreak in 2015-17, where Oaxaca registered 514 cases, there have been only 3 cases in 2018. That's for the entire state. Unsure about the area of Huatulco. The World Health Organization now says that Zika is "no longer a global health emergency". Hope that helps!
