Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.
The charming slightly Greek or Moorish whitewashed rooms spill down the narrow canyon. Small infinity pools follow downhill, offering splendid views. The rooms are spacious and charming with great AC and wifi. Grounds breathtaking with an enormous white cross on the hill. From the pics you may think you cannot access the water. One beach is a rocky crashing swirling beauty. The other beach is a one minute walk through a lovely forest. That beach is only hard to swim in at low and high tide. Medium tide is swimmable with pretty good snorkeling on the west side. If you have any ocean swimming experience you should be fine. Most often you are alone on either beach. The breakfasts are hearty and made from scratch. Order drinks poolside and schedule a fish dinner on site or catch a cheap cab to the town for dinner. Snooze in a hammock. Read a book in a lounge chair in the shallow pool. Staff is excellent. Solomon makes everything possible and can schedule snorkeling or fishing trips for you. The small personable atmosphere beats any large resort. This is a wonderful value.

We really loved our time at Fa Sol. Jordan, Amirani (and the whole team) made everything so easy. The laid back vibe let’s you feel safe and at home.
We stayed six nights and found it easy to be social or private on the property depending on our mood. The non-swimable beach was great to chill and just a short walk on a path to the left or right of the property were swimming beaches. We rented a scooter for a few days to be able to explore, but taxis are easy too.
The view from our room was fabulous (the wifi not so much) but was enough to get by. I needed to do some work and managed video calls just fine, using tucked away space in the common area.
My husband and I found it hard to leave and will return to this simple yet magical boutique Villas.
Thanks Fa Sol 🤍

We spent two weeks at Villa Fa Sol in the Pulpa Room, a jr. Suite. The views were incredible from our room (on the second floor, 48 steps) and everywhere in this truly beautiful hotel.
Our room was very comfortable as was our king sized bed.
The grounds were gorgeous. Lots of sitting areas with exquisite views.
The breakfasts (included,) were delicious. And we so enjoyed Julio and Jordon who served us. We also ate some lunches here.
We enjoyed the small pools, the beaches. One for sunning, the other for swimming.
Gerardo and his son, Jordon, the managers were great, always helpful and friendly. We love the staff here.
We particilarly enjoyed the boat tour of the bays that Jordon set up for us and the archeology museum. The hotel calls cabs which come in about 6 minutes.

We chose Fa-Sol somewhat at random and because they had available dates for the time of our trip. Amazingly good luck. The buildings and the site/view are gorgeous and very well maintained. We pretty much left only to get meals in Crucecita. Otherwise we stayed and enjoyed the setting. The plantings are beautiful as well. One rarely finds a place so well kept-up. The breakfast offerings were very tasty we looked forward to them. The rooms were comfortable and very quiet at night (except for the soothing surf sounds.) No bar, but a nice selection of small meals is served at reasonable cost until 5 PM. Hot water was +/- but that was OK as it was pretty warm out. We would go back here again in a minute. Quiet, no crowds, great staff, and did I mention "beautiful"?

Just stayed three days here and didn't want to leave. The hotel is small and exclusive with beautiful architecture, grounds and pools. The sea views are spectacular especially from the upper level rooms. Gerardo, Sandra and the whole staff treat you like family. Breakfasts served in the gardens are delicious with fresh fruit, good coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice and eggs, chilaquiles or quesadillas. Nearby access to two different beaches that are almost private. The sunsets are amazing! Cant wait to go back!

As you can see from the photos, this hotel has spectacular grounds and an ideal beachfront location. The building architecture is striking, with domes and skylights, and the landscaping is lush and meticulously kept. Pools are lovely, outdoor environment is cozy and relaxing. The food was wonderful--all cooked on the spot and served within moments of preparation. Breakfast on the terrace was a treat every day. The staff were also attentive and helpful. These aspects of the hotel are definitely five stars.
But...our room was basic at best, and lacked some common amenities. For instance, no clock anywhere, bare bulbs instead of lamp fixtures, and no phone to reach the staff (and given that our room was at the extremity of the property, that meant getting dressed and walking up to the main area anytime we wanted anything.) The shower had a big declivity in the middle that never drained, so that meant standing in a cold, inch-deep puddle, which accumulated beach sand rinsed off us over our stay. Not very pleasant to stand in. Hot water was barely hot, and a long wait to arrive (which ensured our shower puddle was plenty full and plenty cold every time.) The mattress, I'm pretty sure, was the same one I had at sleep-away camp in middle school. Not a mattress LIKE the one from camp, but the ACTUAL mattress from 1986. We didn't sleep well the whole time. Room was huge and had beautiful ceiling domes, but just one set of shelves to store everything. Really needed some more furniture for storage. Was great that it had a fridge, but could really use a microwave, especially for evening/night snacks since the hotel kitchen closes at 6 pm.
So overall I'd average the great exterior/grounds/food with a fairly uncomfortable room experience. If I could make a recommendation to the hotel, I'd say they should apply some of the meticulous attention that they give to the landscaping to improve the interior comforts of the rooms.

Before traveling to "Villas FA SOL," we did extensive research on the site-location, amenities, transportation, food, fishing, etc. Our purpose was to enjoy peace and comfort without being "morto." We found that all the positive reviews read were accurate and sincere. I would like to add that FA SOL, has its own "cruiser" for fishing and leisure expeditions, and they will cook your catch.
Try it! But, don't spoil it for other people. This place is strictly HIGH CLASS.

Guillermo and Rosanna are the perfect hosts and their guest villas are magical. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Tucked away on a lush crevice in a private bay, The villa Fa-Sol is a relaxing green haven away from the masses in Huatulco. They do have their own prviate beach, small, but there is a larger swimmable one that can be accessed from the short walk through the sea grapes over the hill. The view cannot be topped and drinks on the veranda as the sun went down was breathtakingly beautiful and peaceful after a day of surfing, snorkling or diving, (all of which can be happily arranged by Guillermo) Both our hosts were so incredibly sweet and generous and drove us around a few times to show us where the better places and restaurants were, a very helpful trip indeed. The rooms are fine and private and the security is very important to them which put us at ease. The breakfast is delicious and Sandra in the kitchen is very sweet. Her son Jordan was incredibly helpful too especially as our spanish was rusty to say the least! Jordan turned out to be our english speaking life-line to the kitchen and bar. We took 4 rooms here over christmas and they were all great. Most of the other guests were Mexican which says something, this is not a touristy place but a warm and welcoming inn for locals and visitors alike. Stay here! This place is great for all types of travelers. Great place for shelling on the beach too! And of course, perfect temp water with great snorkling right off the shore.

We had a wonderful time at Villas Fa Sol. The property is very well maintained and has a very relaxing and welcoming feeling. It's like a home away from home. Every morning a delicious fresh breakfast was waiting for us at our leisure, the staff was very friendly and showed a true spirit of hospitality seldom seen at a lot of popular tourist destinations. Ideal for a romantic getaway, a relaxing retreat or a lovely gathering with family and friends. For true Mexican hospitality and a beautiful surrounding, we highly recommend Villas Fa Sol. We look forward to returning there soon.
