Went there for one night at the start of our vacation, enjoyed it so much went back the last night of the vacation. The staff was charming, it is apparent they like working there. The location in old town allows you to walk to so many interesting areas.

I came a few years back and loved this charming place. I am happy to say that on my second trip to Mazatlan I chose the same hotel. I LOVED it. It really is a great boutique property. Reminds me of stepping into a gorgeous home in Europe, does not feel like I'm in Mazatlan. If I continue to come...

Dearest Courtney L, Thank you for coming back to Casa Lucila for a second time. I want to thank you for making the comment about "stepping into a gorgeous home in Europe" as we strive to maintain the original facade and natural European flair as the original owners were German. Thank you again for the wonderful review, Sophia

Perched on the side of a hill overlooking Olas Altas Beach, in old Mazatlan, this hotel is a real gem. This section of Spanish colonial Mazatlan is full of pastel colored stately homes , and this hotel was one of them. It is completely renovated in a clean, modern, lovely style. The decor is beautiful. There are tranquil corners in...

Dearest carole c, Wow wow wow! I absolutely loved reading your review. Everything you mentioned is exactly how we hope all of our guests to experience the boutique hotel. From the description and appreciation of our interiors to the reference of the reading area, to the jalapeno margaritas shout out, we couldn't have asked for a better way of describing...

I was in the Lupita room. The room is next to the pool - where the whole hotel congregates. I have to deduct a point for the lack of privacy. The hotel is beautiful. Spotless. The rooms was large, with a beautiful shower and exceptionally large, if awkward bathroom layout. There was a bit of a kerfuffle when wait staff...

Dearest Marcolmeca, Thank you for the lovely review! I am sorry to hear that while you were at the hotel, everyone seemed to be congregating up by the pool area. While we tend to get many business visitors to the hotel, generally the pool area has fewer occupants than while you were on your trip. As for the kerfuffle, I...

"Love where you stay" is the motto of the Casa Lucilla. And we loved the place. A small, eight-room boutique that has been thoughtfully and lovingly restored to utter magnificence, Casa Lucilla will not disappoint. Ideally located for those who love the historic "El Centro" of Mazatlan, the Lucila is close to everything and well-served by Pulmonias - the local...

Dearest Charlie, Thank you for your lovely review for our boutique hotel. You write so eloquently I wished I came up with some of your phrasing especially your "lovingly restored to utter magnificence". Wow! Just great. We all appreciate your honesty and hope that we see you again in the near future. Many thanks again, Sophia

Finally! No more day trips into Old Mazatlan from the "golden zone" or Nuevo. This is what we have been looking for downtown. If you are looking for... 1. pool aerobics 2. pesky condo salespeople 3. activities director 4. waiting for hours for your room 5. buffet with sneeze guards ...don't come here, but if you want a quiet, romantic(or...

Dearest Mexvacagirl, Great review! We especially love the breakdown on what not to expect at our boutique property because, well, potential guests need to know what they won't get from staying with us. I especially love #5 buffet with sneeze guards. Nicely said! I'm thrilled you enjoyed your stay with us and I thank you for being a great advocate...

My husband and I own two time shares in Mazatlan and have been coming down here for over twenty years. We have always loved the Centro and Historical district, so this year we decided to extend our visit by staying at Casa Lucila for three days. We were fortunate to stay in the Conchita room. Large and spacious with a...

Dearest Kristi, First of all, thank YOU for teaching us to play the ukulele. Conchita especially enjoyed it as she is now adding "plays the ukulele" as a new skill set! Well, not really, but the experience alone was certainly incredible and unique. It's because of wonderful guests such as yourselves that make running the boutique hotel worth it. We...

I was extremely disappointed. We upgraded for 30 dollars more a nite for a ocean view room. We were put in a room whose air conditioning evaporator leaked.
