My friends and I stayed at the Bel Mar for 3 nights while waiting for our opening at the Pueblo Bonito. My friend wanted to stay there because of the old world charm she heard about. It was so gross. The shower was full of dirt and scum. The pool was also full of scum. Had I been brave enough...

Best deal in town- I've traveled to mazatlan 4 times in the past 2-3 years. I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. Rates are around 30.00 nite, ocean view from private balcony, you can here the waves crashing at nite. My gosh, it's great. Now if you want all the extras like a frige, hair dryer, phones, in room bottled...

For $30.00 a night - what do you expect. Hot water in the mornig and soft beds and the surf crashing in at night - why pay in the 100.00's when you dont have to.

We stayed at the Bel Mar in January 2002. It was my 12th visit to this famous old hotel. It has changed little in the last 15 years. The ocean view rooms were about 22$ American. The hotel is quirky with the elevators working one day and not the next. Everything is marble, tile and dark mahogony. It is very Mexican...

I have made four trips to Mazatlan over the last four years. Three of the four times I stayed at the Hotel Hacienda. The staff there are EXCELLENT! The rooms are very clean and comfortable not to mention reasonably priced. This hotel caters to more Mexican tourists than anything else, so it is a great place to feel and see...

I first read about the Hotel Belmar in "Let's Go: Mexico" about ten years ago. After the favorable review, I decided that I wanted to give it a try. Upon my arrival at the Mazatlan bus station, I hailed a cab for the Belmar. The driver obviously was working on some kind of commission to take tourists to the Golden...

“For 200 pesos a night, they are all good!”

“the ocean view is fantastic (on the 5th floor) but it is noisy”
of 5 bubbles brinlois, 23 Apr 2015 | Read review
“Ground floor; around pool, saloon, and lobby; can be high-traffic and noisy, but is within easy staggering distance of the bar if that's your thing. Wireless Internet has been installed at the Belmar, but curiously isn't advertised, or even admitted to if you ask, but coverage is spotty. Ocean-front rooms don't have it, interior rooms may, but a good connection seems to be available in the seating area in front of the elevators on every floor.”

“When you reserve, ask for patio rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors.”

“Patio rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors are the best. The ocean rooms with balconies are older and can be noisy but some people really like them.”
