The Courtyard Mazatlan Beach Resort is commended for its impeccable cleanliness and modern amenities, including a well-maintained pool and gym, coupled with beach access. Guests often laud the property's prime location near dining options and the beach, while feeling secure. Although the rooms boast cleanliness and modernity with stunning views, some visitors mention a lack of toiletries and safes.
While the hotel atmosphere is modern, a few guests miss local flair and find the beach music overpowering. Service is generally seen as friendly and efficient, despite occasional lapses.

We had a wonderful experience at Courtyard Mazatlan. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that everyone was eager to assist us. Our reception at the lobby was exceptional; the staff immediately acknowledged our Platinum Elite Marriott Bonvoy membership and made us feel truly valued for our loyalty to the Marriott brand.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always appearing happy to attend to any of our needs. As a new hotel, all the facilities and rooms were impeccably clean and well-maintained. The hotel boasts a modern style, featuring white and grey marble stone with wood accents. The main entrance offers a stunning view of the infinity pool, beach, and Deer Island, a view that is equally breathtaking from the restaurant and gym.
The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a wide variety of options to indulge in. On Sunday, there were additional seafood options, and a special soup that was out of this world. Special compliments to Head Chef Rodolfo Baldenebro and Manager Sergio, along with their staff, whose main goal was to make us feel welcome and ensure we enjoyed our vacation.
The infinity pool bartenders were fantastic. We enjoyed sitting on the in-water pool benches, sipping cocktails, and having fun. Jesus, in particular, is a master at crafting great drinks.
Our experience at the spa with Naomi was exceptional. She was very knowledgeable and provided us with heavenly massages and facials. The hotel also offers convenient direct access to the Zona Dorada beach, complete with their own benches and sun tables. We enjoyed the local cultural Banda Music from the beach and many water activities right in front of the hotel, very convenient.
The views from our upgraded room were amazing, overlooking Deer Island and offering some truly spectacular sunsets. Our stay was very enjoyable, and we can't wait to return next year.

We spent 5 days at the hotel, and it was great! The hotel is on the beach in the Gold Zone. All rooms face the Ocean so there are no bad views. The first 10 floors are the Marriott Courtyard Hotel, above the 10th floor are condos which have not opened yet but are completely sold out. The condos have their own entrance and are not associated with the hotel. The hotel rooms were clean and nicely appointed. Nice infinity adult pool with swim up bar and a separate children’s pool (no bar). There is an activity room for the kids, gym and SPA which is not scheduled to open until March 2023. Easy access to the beach via ramp or stairs. Our room had a small refrigerator.
The hotel is new, so they are still getting their sea legs. Some of the wait staff (all new hires) had difficulty with English but there was always someone available to help. We never had an issue. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. There is no concierge or tourist info at the hotel so planning before you arrive would be a good idea. We found bringing our own maps was helped. Plenty of places to eat and shop around the hotel. The hotel is a couple of blocks off the green bus line which runs to the center of old town for only 13 pesos (70 cents US). The bus was very easy to use and goes by the Basilica and Market. Ubering around town was easy and cheap but bus was cheaper. Prepaying for a taxi at the airport to the hotel on a credit card cost only $24 USD. You cannot use Uber from the airport and Uber only takes cash to the airport at a higher rate than the Uber app shows.
The one thing we did not like about the hotel was that they have smoke alarms in each room that have a very bright LED the blinks every 10-12 seconds. Not very noticeable during the day but at night it is like a bright strobe light. Nothing a small piece of electrical tape can’t fix. We told the staff about the issue and hopefully they will find a fix to this minor issue. This would not stop me from staying at the hotel again, but I would bring my own electrical tape just in case.

Nice hotel BUT farelly overpriced for the area based upon all the products and services offered.
I am sad to say that the hotel is very recent, and is already needing maintenance, thus decaying rapidly over time.
The rooms, which are recent, all of them have the strict minimum, in a suite you only have one and only one towel hook (for a room that is meant to be for a family), no bathrobes (even in suites) and you may forget the slippers as well.
In terms of service this is reflected, as many employees sadly do the strict minimum. This hotel has a strict inflexible policy of not admitting guests who do not wear a wristband, so no outside guests allowed.
So, if you want to be mistreated by security personnel or the reception employees (specially Mr hector m. Which appears in previous comments of trip advisor doing the same things), if you do not wear the band "for security reasons", if you want to overpay for food & drinks, or stay in a room which is clearly in need of some maintenance despite its "recent" opening and not have the correct recognition based uppon your level of the Marriott bonvoy programme: do stay here!
The view is nice though, such a shame for a Marriott...

We were surprised at how unfriendly the front desk service was when we checked in since most people working in hospitality in Mazatlan are so warm and helpful. However, when we checked out early, the front desk person and the manager we spoke with were very kind.
The bar service in the lobby and the pool bars were very slow and a bit chaotic. There was no white wine at the lobby bar but it was on the menu. The bartender served one of our drinks and completely forgot to ask for my partner’s order. Drink prices seemed very expensive at $15 US per cocktail.
The only pool is tiny with minimal lounge chairs so don’t expect to lounge around and have pool-side service.
Our room was modern and clean, but we were freaked out to find a used syringe on the floor in the master bedroom. We avoided it and requested someone to remove it properly not knowing what it was used for. The remote in our room did not work but was fixed once new batteries were provided. The view was beautiful at south the end of the building.
We were super frustrated trying to find ice when the operator/front desk told us the wrong floors that had ice machines and finally had to go to the lobby to request ice at the bar.

This is a new hotel with some issues. I think Marriott needs to get on the ground quickly to ensure brand integrity is not compromised. Breakfast is not worth 350 pesos. Very little choice on the menu for breakfast. I get that different cultures eat different foods but there was eggs but no bacon, ham or sausage. The orange juice and the yogurt was awesome.
The hotel allows a local tour company to bring in people from cruise ships. The pool will become instantly crowded with no chairs due to the invasion of non-guests.
The pool was nice and the view amazing.
One of the group was charged 230 dollars on his credit card despite the fact the rooms were pre paid as Bonvoy Platinum member.
Staff are friendly.
Would like to see this hotel succeed but for only being open for a year some fairly sign can’t maintenance issues already at play.
Bottom line is would I stay here again….likely but don’t expect a Marriot experience.

Aside from the pool, the view and the lovely staff (which were fantastic!) everything else is just average! They don't provide slippers or even proper toiletries, the rooms don't have a safe, there's only one hanger in the shower, they have paper cups instead of paper cups, and not even a toothbrush holder in the washroom. The breakfast is average, aside from the omelette prepared at the omelette station, I couldn't eat anything else cause they all tasted bad. The service is meh, we had to ask for a Do not disturb sign because there were none in our room! Overall, not coming back here. It looks like 5 star hotel but the service is not.

Definitely NOT a 5-star hotel. And for a property that hasn’t even been open a year, it needs some love. Checked in only to discover the sliding door handle to the outside balcony was broken along with the security bar on the room entrance door. Then there was a rather large space that had been cut out of the bathroom ceiling that had never been repaired correctly. The furniture and walls were marred with no attempt to repair. At the outside bar one entire piece of granite was missing from the side of the bar. Housekeeping was hit or miss on the number of items you could expect Including towels, coffee cups etc etc. While we never had a problem we watched security follow people around like they were just waiting for them to do something wrong. Food and service was good except at the outside bar. The bartender acted like I didn’t exist until my husband came out of the pool. Then they make the drinks around at the pool bar and you can’t see what they’re doing. 99% no alcohol in my drink. Not the best experience from a Marriott.

Incredibly noisy. The entrance door does not seal well and the noise from the bar next door was incredibly loud until after 2 am. Very difficult to sleep. All suite entrance doors are on the street side of the building so there is no escape from the noise. The shower was laminate tile flooring and very slippery. The hotel does not see that as a problem so would not provide non-slip shower mat. We bought one from Walmart for $6 and left it there. There are no safety handles in the shower. Not good. There is only one hook for towels in the bathroom so no choice to avoid clean towels every day. No towel bars. Not very eco-friendly. There is a single cup coffee maker which worked ok. The door to the balcony does not seal well so the noise from the beach bands was incredibly loud during the day. Not peacefull at all. On the plus side, there are a lot of good restaurants very near by. Overall, we will not be back.

Wonderful experience at the Marriott in Mazatlan. Modern, clean, comfortable, beautiful views, tasty food, great location. Upon arrival, Lidia at the front desk was very accommodating and allowed us go poolside for an early check-in and worked to get us the first available room much earlier than the standard time. The staff here are friendly, personable and professional. Book your stay here when in Mazatlan, especially if you love beautiful sunsets and happy vibes!
