This hotel is a gem! I've been here for 10 days and love it. Why? The location by the river is peaceful and calm. I wake up and sit on my private balcony drinking my morning coffee (provided in the lobby for free) overlooking gigantic Bougainvillea with the trees and river beyond it. The bed is comfortable, the rooms are pristine clean, and the rooftop terrace is an incredible spot to see the sunset. It's a great hotel for families, couples, and solo travelers. The staff goes out of their way to make your stay memorable and all the recommendations I've received from them have made my stay. When you know where to go to get the best shrimp ceviche and where to buy anything you need it makes it easy and joyful to be here. And the location is superb! You're a 5 minute walk from all the bars, restaurants, and Los Muertos Beach so you have it all at your fingertips. It's very romantic to walk across the pedestrian only bridge over the river contemplating where you'll eat and what yummy food you'll find next. Just ask the staff they will recommend authentic Mexican food and beaches to explore. If you like you can take the bus or taxi (Uber) to Mismaloya Beach and the Botanical Garden and anywhere else you would like to discover. If you're reading this review now, you've found your place just book it. Maybe I'll still be here!…
The hotel is in the southern end of El Centro, convenient to the Malecon and the restaurants and stores of the Zona Romantica. We did a lot of walking around and people watching. Very good location for getting a good feel for true Mexican culture (rather than tourist culture). It's also very reasonably priced, as are the restaurants close by. We stayed a total of 12 nights. We checked out 2 days early due to panic about Covid-19 and getting home, only to find out we couldn't get a flight then. We checked back in to the same room with no penalty for having checked out, which I found impressively courteous. The maid had thoroughly cleaned the room while we were at the airport, and the room was almost ready when we got back. The service people were kind and helpful and very courteous. The hotel courtyard was being renovated (in the center of the hotel), but the workers stayed out of the way as they could. It was interesting to watch them work on the various things. Room 209 overlooks busy I. L. Vallarta street, which can be incredibly noisy traffic-wise at night, only quieting down between 3 and 6 a.m. I learned to keep the air conditioner fan on all night and wear earplugs in order to sleep. Our friends checked in for the last two nights into room 225, which overlooks the Rio Cuale and some riverside trees with tropical birds and an iguana. We thought their room would be quieter than room 209, but on the second night someone's car alarm went off for about ten seconds almost every hour all day and night long and this disturbed their sleep a little. I also found the mattress in room 209 was very hard. There appear to be no box springs under it and if you like firm mattresses, this one might please you. I don't think the hotel had laundry service, but there are full-service laundries almost every block in the Zona Romantica. Prices for laundry there are 13 - 20 pesos per kilogram, which is really cheap compared to typical hotel laundry charges.…
Thé Encino is centrally located, with easy access to many bars and restaurants. The rooms are big, and filtered water is offered in the corridor the addition of small fridges in each room would make this an ideal spot to stay!
This was a budget hotel. It had very basic amenities. Make sure to bring your own toiletries, as there was only bar soap, shampoo and lotion in the bathroom. Also, just two bath towels. No hand towels. Loved the luggage storage option and the rooftop. Location was excellent. ***Very important*** If you book a double room and you’re a couple, make sure to call the front desk before you arrive to confirm that you will have one bed. My partner and I were shown to our room and realized that we had two small, twin-sized beds. Obviously we wanted to sleep in one bed, so we tried the first night, but it was uncomfortable. I mentioned this to the front desk receptionist and he said we should try the next day. The next day I asked again if we could be moved to a room with one bed and he said there weren’t any available. I was pretty frustrated because if I had known I would’ve called ahead to make sure. We ended up sleeping in separate beds the second night so that we could sleep comfortably. This hotel was good for two night, but I wouldn’t want to stay any longer.…
they put us in a room with no windows , our friends we traveled with were sent to a differ property . they were able to let us move to the other hotel for 3 times the price. when at other property Encino tried to charge me for the remaining time of my stay.
