Our room had bugs crawling all over the furniture and the beds were rock hard. I was very scared to use the bathroom thinking there would be bugs to come out of the toilet. The shower was uncomfortable and small and I cant even believe I lasted 3 nights in this hotel. The water tasted so bad we had to... More

We booked an ocean view studio on expedia. When we arrived we were taken to a horrible room with a view of the alley and nothing even close to the photos we saw online. The front desk staff claimed that the mistake was expedia's and that the ocean rooms were booked all winter. We ended up leaving and when checking... More

The Hotel Marsol is conveniently located next to the Playa Los Muertos Pier and the Malecon in Olas Altos part of Puerto Vallarta (Romantic Zone). It is surrounded by numerous shops and cafes/restaurants and offers easy access to many things to see & do in Old Town. The hotel's staff are pleasant, and the inner courtyards with its pool +... So besides the hard as rock pillows, the rude counter staff, the Crack heads that hang out in the lobby all night, no lights in the hallway , you get to pay an additional 16% even though we paid in Pesos . They said the because the rate was so high the bank gave us more so we have to... More

Beyond the lingering crackheads in the lobby and the fact that they say internet and there is none, the lights all go out in the courtyard at 10pm and you have to try and find your room in pitch dark. (Huge safety issue, especially with the creepy fellows downstairs). The staff is rude and when you check out paying in... More

The lobby is dark and dingy. Furniture is stained and tattered. Questionable people hanging out in the lobby. Public restrooms are filthy. I wouldn't consider staying here. Sleeping on the pier would be cleaner. It appears to be a hangout for undesirables milling around in the lobby. Definitely not a family oriented place.

Stayed here many times in the past. Great location right next to the pier in Vallarta Viejo, especially in the beach front rooms on 3rd or 4th level. Has become very run down. If you are lucky the elevator works the day you arrive with your luggage and the day you leave. May or may not have have hot water... More

The Marsol is conveniently located in the very friendly and always laid back Romantic Zone in Puerto Vallarta. It sits overlooking the beach, right in front of the pier. If you're looking for a high-end resort-type vacation, this might not be for you. At the Marsol, you'll find genuine local flavor, from the lobby, to the restaurants, to your room.... More

I stayed at this hotel on a couple of occasions, but only because I had friends and family staying there. The hotel belongs to a fellow that had it passed down from his father and I truly don't think he has made any updates to the property or fixed anything properly since he got it. You regularily see appliances being... More
