This hotel is truly amazing - don't be fooled by the outside when you pull up. It is stuffed to the gunnels with amazing antiques and art. Beautifully laid out with lots of open spaces to lounge around in or soak up the views. This...More
The restaurant at Hacienda San Angel is a bit of beautiful heaven tucked away in the hills of Puerto Vallarta. You ring the bell to enter, and then walk through the carved wood door into an interior courtyard of Angel stone and wood statues, flowing...More
Great restaurant with unbelievable views of the city. Hard to find but worth the effort. High end Mexican food at a very reasonable price. Service was responsive to all our needs. When in town this restaurant is a must go to.
We had dinner at the roof top restaurant. Very romantic and beautiful setting. Unfortunately the view of the ocean has been destroyed by a building going up in front. You still get a city view. Never fear. The mariachi band more than makes up for...More
Lovely rooftop restaurant at this upscale hotel in downtown Puerto Vallarta. Excellent food and service, views of town and ocean. The atmosphere is more "continental" with linen table cloths and a very nice wine list. They did have mariachis that were top notch - a...More

Yes, brunch is seasonal. But, normally they will accommodate those staying at the hotel by serving meals where they want them. So, I would request, say breakfast, to be served there instead of your room. Of course, you will be lacking the aviance of the setting for the brunch, or the champagne you are sipping as the violinist enchants you, but the view is enough. Same, if you want lunch outside or in one of the dining areas off the courtyard. One of the most magical things about Hacienda is how much the staff cares about their visitors and do so much to please them.

Depending on how many days you are staying at San Angel, I would just rent the car for your trip north to Sayulita. You are in the center of town. If your are just exploring, hire a driver and a van. Everything is negotiable. For 30+ years we use a cab. In our youth we wold rent a car, then it was VW Things.
