Located in a very safe, quiet, and central Colonia Americana, this museum-like house is close to lots of small, quaint, independently owned restaurants and bars. It is a short walk from the trendy Calle Chapultepec area too, if that is your thing. Once you enter the door to the house, though, you realize you are in a very special place.... More

I have stayed at Casa Esperanza a number of times when visiting Guadalajara. Esperanza is an extraordinary host, multi-lingual, knowledgeable, incredibly generous and wonderful fun to be with. Her house is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and extremely well-kept. Each room has its own unique cultural character reflecting the richness of Mexico's regions. It is both a pleasure and privilege to... More

My partner and I decided to stay at this huge and beautiful house. We stayed in the Huichol room. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The decoration in the room is fantastic. This place is the most relaxing place I've stayed at and Esperanza is the nicest person I've met. She was always there for us. We'll... More

My partner and I stayed at the Huichol Room. It was absolutely stunning!! Beautifully decorated, it made us feel in touch with a part of the Mexican culture. The room and bathroom were spotless. Esperanza is just about the nicest person ever! She took us shopping to a traditional Mexican market and made us feel right at home! All in... More

you will not be disappointed by staying here. A beautifully decorated house run by an amazing woman. The best Mexico has to offer. An easy 20 minute walk to downtown. Watch for the broken sidewalks. Our hostess, Esperanza, was very helpful arranging our further travels. Awesome.

I traveled to Guadalajara with my family during the Thanksgiving break. Casa Esperanza is nestled in the heart of the city, just steps away from the University of Guadalajara and the fabulous Expiatorio cathedral. We were greeted by Esperanza herself when we arrived, as she showed us our rooms in a breathtaking house exquisitely decorated with Mexican artesanias and lovely... More

My husband and I stayed in this beautiful Bed and Breakfast in Guadalajara Mexico for the Thanksgiving Holiday, November 2014 (4 days). We stayed in the "Huitchol" room. We reside in the United States. Pros: 1. This is no ordinary "house" or "bed and breakfast"! This is a very well -preserved and recently restored/renovated, 100 -year- old house (and used... More

Casa Esperanza an ABSOLUTE GEM & a FANTASTIC VALUE! An experience that embraces Heart, Body, Mind & Soul. With anthropology backgrounds, the hosts Esperanza & Gerardo, offer an architectural treasure tour of sorts, with each room reflective of a different indigenous culture. Their artistry is awesome - in restoring the building, they kept the soaring 18' ceilings, inner courtyard with... More

I just got back from a 4 day stay at Casa Esperanza, and couldn't be happier about my experience. Esperanza's colonial-style house is absolutely immaculate! Usually photos on Airbnb make a place look nicer than it is, but in this case, the actual house is BETTER than the cute photos on the site. Esperanza has spent years renovating the house... More
