My wife and I like to celebrate the winter solstice to look forward to the brighter days to come. La Perla was the perfect choice. They have upgraded the premise and carefully followed all Covid-19 measures to ensure guest safety. Most amazing of all, is that although they are a B&B, during this pandemic, they are allowing only one room to be occupied at a time, so we were the only guests. We had no exposure to unknown risk from other guests, perfect way to social distance. Lorenzo, Memo and Antonio always go out of their way with little surprises that make you feel like pampered celebrities. We asked if they would arrange a small supper for us, but, they went over the top with a an elegant private dinner with gorgeous china and crystal place settings on their rooftop terrace complete with flowers. We use the term 'memorable' as a compliment reserved only for certain places where we experience something special and worth writing about. In Spanish, 'inolvidable,' La Perla is a very cozy, elegant gem in the big city of Guadalajara. "A diamond in the rough... ; -)"

Thank you for choosing to enjoy the Winter Solstice with us. Limiting occupancy to only one reservation at a time is for our safety and our guests’ safety. It allows us to do the special things like the dinner on the rooftop terrace with the two of you. It was a magical evening. During Covid-19 restrictions, we are not able to do breakfast buffet in the dining room and instead, guests enjoy breakfast with open air on the rooftop terrace. Guests are also invited for the free cocktail hour on the rooftop terrace. A great time for a glass of wine, conversation along with the view of the historical building around us. During the months we were closed, we took time to paint and upgrade everything at La Perla. We are now ready for guests with a fresh new look and extra safety procedures.

I really enjoyed my stay. Lars and Guillermo were very nice and helpful. The apartment had fast and stable wifi and everything else I need. It was clean and I felt safe there, and the location is very nice if you are on vacation.

Anders, Thank you for choosing to stay in the Loft APARTMENT at La Perla with its own private entrance. Being at the side of LA PERLA Hotel Boutique B&B, we are always available right next door. SAFTEY and comfort is our top priority with our extra sanitation cleaning procedures and two days between guests. We are fortunate that masks have been mandated since March and Covid-19 cases are still low here compared to many other places. With perfect year-round temperature, everyone really enjoys the open air sidewalk cafes all around us. Business guests really appreciate the dedicated fiber optic Wi-Fi. On your next stay, remember to contact us directly to receive additional saving. We look forward to your return now as a friend and to enjoy another glass of wine together.

This is my third stay with La Perla, and the first since the COVID pandemic. One of the most reassuring things about La Perla (as I have said in previous reviews) is their attention to detail. The detail of most importance in this day and age is cleanliness. The room was not only spotless - as usual - but obviously thoroughly sanitized. They had masks, face shields and sanitizer available in volume. If you are not familiar with GDL or the Colonia Americana area, the advantages of the locale are numerous, particularly during the pandemic. Unlike many places in El Centro, there are numerous restaurants with outdoor dining within walking distance. And you can easily walk to El Centro or the entertainment hot spots of La Zona Rosa and Chapultepec.Beyond that, Lars and Memo are the consummate hosts. If English is an advantage for your stay, you will be in good hands.

Thank you for returning and enjoying a couple nights in our Loft Apartment at La Perla before the hotel re-opens soon. I might mention that like most people visiting Guadalajara right now, you were already in Mexico. Like us, all of our friends, and almost everyone in Guadalajara, you also followed every possible safety measure. The evening with a glass of wine on our rooftop terrace was a great way to spend some time together outside, especially since we are not using the small intimate bar inside La Perla right now. Chilaquiles for breakfast at an outside neighbourhood restaurant with you was also delightful, replacing breakfast in our dining room. Adjusting to what is needed today for our returning guests is working well. The hotel will have a new, fresh look and with maximum safety procedures for our guests and for us. We will start with hosting only one room at a time, unless guests are traveling together, and 24 hours between guests for their safety and ours. Thank you again for returning to La Perla.

This was my second stay at La Perla, and the first time to stay in the loft apartment. I returned to Guadalajara to continue to explore the city as a potential relocation spot and to have dental work. From my first stay in September 2019, I remembered the hospitality of everyone at La Perla and the convenient location. Upon arrival in July 2020 (during the Covid19 pandemic), everyone at La Perla was following government mandated safety precautions. The loft apartment has a separate entrance so my contact with the others could be minimized. The apartment was thoroughly cleaned and sanitized in advance. Remember, this is an apartment and not just a hotel room, so this was extensive and thorough work that the hosts performed. Due to the heightened health restrictions, the hosts and I agreed that weekly housekeeping wouldn't be needed other than fresh sheets and towels to minimize contact. The apartment contained everything I needed for my stay: dishes, glasses, mugs, coffee maker, flatware, plastic containers, microwave, stove and oven. drinking water, two TVs and more than adequate internet. I rely on internet for work so it's crucial to me that I can connect anytime day or night. La Perla met and exceeded my expectations with connectivity. During my stay, I realized that Colonia Americana - where La Perla is located - is where I will settle down. It's very walkable with restaurants and stores close by. I felt safe the entire time. As a repeat guest and perhaps because I was also staying for a month during the pandemic, the hosts also offered me a very fair discount. I look forward to the end of the world health crisis so that I can return to La Perla and give my hosts and new friends at La Perla a long overdue hug once my relocation is permanent.

You were our first guest since the pandemic started. Thank you for returning to La Perla. We are lucky that Guadalajara closed everything very early, months ago. We will soon be opening the hotel, but the Loft Apartment at La Perla, has easily provided all the safety needed. Whether using its kitchen and utensils which are all sanitised, or sidewalk restaurants and cafés with outside seating, we are glad you found it exactly what was needed. The virus case numbers are low in Guadalajara because of closing early. Businesses, including hotels were able to gradually begin reopening in July. With so many unknowns and required safety measures initially changing daily, we decided not to rush reopening the hotel. Instead, to use the time to repaint and freshen the interior of the hotel, and to make cleaning and disinfecting everything easier, and as safe as possible for all of us. We will start with hosting only one room at a time, unless guests are traveling together, and 24 hours between guests for their safety and ours. We will be ready with a new, fresh airy look soon. For now, we will keep social distances with guests while enjoying conversation and a glass of wine, but we also look forward to the return of that time together with a welcoming hug.
