My wife and I like to celebrate the winter solstice to look forward to the brighter days to come. La Perla was the perfect choice. They have upgraded the premise and carefully followed all Covid-19 measures to ensure guest safety. Most amazing of all, is that although they are a B&B, during this pandemic, they are allowing only one room to be occupied at a time, so we were the only guests. We had no exposure to unknown risk from other guests, perfect way to social distance. Lorenzo, Memo and Antonio always go out of their way with little surprises that make you feel like pampered celebrities. We asked if they would arrange a small supper for us, but, they went over the top with a an elegant private dinner with gorgeous china and crystal place settings on their rooftop terrace complete with flowers. We use the term 'memorable' as a compliment reserved only for certain places where we experience something special and worth writing about. In Spanish, 'inolvidable,' La Perla is a very cozy, elegant gem in the big city of Guadalajara. "A diamond in the rough... ; -)"…
I really enjoyed my stay. Lars and Guillermo were very nice and helpful. The apartment had fast and stable wifi and everything else I need. It was clean and I felt safe there, and the location is very nice if you are on vacation.
Clean and fresh. Everything works. Vottush at front desk is so much help. I booked a tour from hotel forTalaquepaqur for 5 hours only 500pesos. Sunday restaurant closed. 7/11 across street . I will come back for sure. On 6th fl. Wow .
This is my third stay with La Perla, and the first since the COVID pandemic. One of the most reassuring things about La Perla (as I have said in previous reviews) is their attention to detail. The detail of most importance in this day and age is cleanliness. The room was not only spotless - as usual - but obviously thoroughly sanitized. They had masks, face shields and sanitizer available in volume. If you are not familiar with GDL or the Colonia Americana area, the advantages of the locale are numerous, particularly during the pandemic. Unlike many places in El Centro, there are numerous restaurants with outdoor dining within walking distance. And you can easily walk to El Centro or the entertainment hot spots of La Zona Rosa and Chapultepec.Beyond that, Lars and Memo are the consummate hosts. If English is an advantage for your stay, you will be in good hands.…
This was my second stay at La Perla, and the first time to stay in the loft apartment. I returned to Guadalajara to continue to explore the city as a potential relocation spot and to have dental work. From my first stay in September 2019, I remembered the hospitality of everyone at La Perla and the convenient location. Upon arrival in July 2020 (during the Covid19 pandemic), everyone at La Perla was following government mandated safety precautions. The loft apartment has a separate entrance so my contact with the others could be minimized. The apartment was thoroughly cleaned and sanitized in advance. Remember, this is an apartment and not just a hotel room, so this was extensive and thorough work that the hosts performed. Due to the heightened health restrictions, the hosts and I agreed that weekly housekeeping wouldn't be needed other than fresh sheets and towels to minimize contact. The apartment contained everything I needed for my stay: dishes, glasses, mugs, coffee maker, flatware, plastic containers, microwave, stove and oven. drinking water, two TVs and more than adequate internet. I rely on internet for work so it's crucial to me that I can connect anytime day or night. La Perla met and exceeded my expectations with connectivity. During my stay, I realized that Colonia Americana - where La Perla is located - is where I will settle down. It's very walkable with restaurants and stores close by. I felt safe the entire time. As a repeat guest and perhaps because I was also staying for a month during the pandemic, the hosts also offered me a very fair discount. I look forward to the end of the world health crisis so that I can return to La Perla and give my hosts and new friends at La Perla a long overdue hug once my relocation is permanent.…
