polite and helpful front desk staff. Pleasant maid service. Helpful staff in restaurant. Wonderful room with windows that actually opened. Beautiful staircase. Lovely old hotel geared to the tourist who wants to explore city. Quiet old world charm.

The Maria Cristina's a comfortable, well-maintained hotel within walking distance of Reforma Ave., restaurants, museums and the Zocalo. The Spanish-colonial hotel offers a good restaurant and outdoor patio in addition to AC, wi-fi, a mini-refrigerator, in-room safe, and cable TV.

We've stayed at the Maria Cristina many times, but this time I'll review & share the secret. The hotel is in an old colonial house with modern extensions that keep with the character. There is a lovely garden area where you can sit, and a lovely Mexican style bar. The two grey cats that lounge in the garden are well...

Spacious and very clean rooms, room service if you like, very accomodating personel. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel which offers meals from breakfast to dinner, and across the garden a smaller bar, where you can have your Margaritas. We wrre also impressed with their protective attitude when it came to taking a taxi. Most hotels, restaurants and...

I stayed here for 10 nights as part of an art workshop. It was quiet, comfortable and a good location just off Reforma. Had many fun evenings at the bar, which is nicely situated in the garden. The internet is a bit of a pain in that you get a code every 24 hours and it's only good for one...

I was very please with this hotel. Pros: the rate per night is very reasonable, compared to other hotels in the same area. It has a great location, just a block away from Reforma and the Angel de la Independencia. We took a turibus from the mall Reforma 222 which is a few blocks away from the hotel. Con: Wifi...

The hotel is nice, old-fashioned and quiet, located close to Zona Rosa and to a bunch of good places to have dinner and a drink at night. The only down side is the internet. The hotel only allows you to connect ONE device per room, and their internet code is changing everyday. You do have the option to pay for...

The Maria Christina - quite my kind of place: affordable antidote to the big chain hotels. Centrally located, grand lobby, gardens, modest sized room, large bathroom, well maintained by a super friendly staff. Coffee shop/restaurant off lobby. Annoying detail: Management requires that you get a new code every 24 hours to use their low signal internet modem and the code...

It is a lovely old hotel. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. They also speak English, which is very helpful. However, there were three big problems and one lesser. First, the internet sucks. I made a point of saying I wanted a room with good internet. It was off and on and very slow when it was on....

This hotel is not truly upscale and modern as many other hotels in the area. Some of the suites could use some renovation and there is no fine dining at the hotel's expensive restaurant... but... set all that aside and you will find many other positive reasons to stay at this hotel. First reason is price. You can go spend...
