I recommend this hotel. It is very cozy from the entrance. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable and every day you get cleaned you change towels and put two bottles of water. There is an in-room coffee maker and a coffee bag.
Bathrooms stay clean all the time.
The buffet is very varied. For my taste Excellent!! Chilaquiles are offered to order among other Mexican dishes.
To make your walk pleasant and want to know culture and history ask about Romulus. He is a gentleman who offers his services as a professional guide. Very wise sir.

We stayed here for 5 nights, and thought it was a decent hotel for the price we paid.

The hotel is in a great, central location.

The staff were very friendly (and most spoke English) especially the porter Leo!

The room was okay, but on the small side for travellers with luggage.

Overall, we would stay again.

The staff was very friendly during the reception and stay. The reason for the stay was for a medical issue and the staff was very attentive in providing the necessary help, which is greatly appreciated. The room was very comfortable and quite quiet which allowed us to rest very well. Everything very clean. Perhaps the only point of improvement is to review the room facilities a little, since in the bathroom one of the buttons to eliminate waste got a little stuck; Yes it eliminated them but it got stuck.

The staff is extremely gentle, attentive and helpful. Especially Mr. Martin López, was always aware of our stay. In relation to the hotel, it is a strategic point, the facilities are welcoming. The restaurant with a variety of dishes and the buffet is a true option to taste everything delicious that they prepare with great dedication. The restaurant staff are very attentive to details, always seeking guest satisfaction. In short: a very well located, hygienic hotel, delicious food and above all A PHENOMENAL STAFF.

We had a pleasant experience. Good location, very rich food buffet and costs are not high.
The shampoo and conditioner are very rich, honey-like and it is nice to see how interested they are in the environment. Although we would have liked variety in the minibar. The room was very cozy and the detail of having some cushions on the window was nice because my baby enjoyed it a lot.

They deceive people with the rooms and prices even if the reservation has been made in advance. Very small rooms like pigeon coops. Make sure you get it in writing in the reservation letter that they comply with what you request from the hotel. As agreed included breakfast and the number of beds. They raise the price to change rooms

Had a wonderful experience staying at this hotel for five days in July 2022. I had planned a trip with my mother, but she was forced to cancel at the last minute due to an unexpected injury, so I went on the trip solo. It was my first time visiting Mexico City and I could not have imagined a better place to stay.

The staff was wonderful from the moment I arrived to the moment I left. They were friendly, helpful, and attentive. The housekeeping staff was especially accommodating, assisting me with an unusual request to swap my feather pillows for synthetic due to an allergy. The hotel provided a couple bottles of water for free daily upon request, but there are a number of corner stores nearby with reasonably priced water available.

I was lucky enough to be on a high floor, which meant I had a spectacular view. The room was quite nice and everything worked satisfactorily.

My favorite part about staying at Hotel Emporio, though, is the location! You are within walking distance of numerous landmarks, notably El Ángel and La Alameda Central, and it's a very walkable part of the city. If you would rather take public transportation, double-decker buses stop just one block away. Otherwise, Uber or DiDi is a cheap, safe, and easy solution. They will pick you up at the front door of the hotel.

Overall, I was very pleased with my stay at Hotel Emporio and I would be thrilled to stay again. They helped make my first visit to Mexico City quite memorable!

I stayed at the hotel for a week. It is a great location to n avenue Reforma close to Zócalo, malls and other Colonias. Some parts of hotel need to be updated but they have very close attention to keeping up with maintenance on a regular basis. I will say that the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The reservation manager Andrea was great at organizing the rooms that were needed. The bellman at the front desk were always willing to offer advice on where to go to and to help arrange taxis when needed. Especially Martin, Leo, Oscar and Yessenia. I was very glad that they had security to watch the doors and people coming in and out of the hotel. This was especially the case during the day of the dead parade with thousands of people walking by. The security at the front door was very strict as did they try to watch for people begging for money on the patio. I would recommend staying at this hotel for these reasons. They also will say they did a tremendous job in decorating for day of the dead and put up multiple shrines in the lobby to make it look very festive. I think just as nice or better than some of the larger hotel chains. It was good price for the location, and service. The beds were comfortable too, wifi newer tvs and some rooms had nice onyx lights. The only downside is with an old builder and some of the rooms did not have a view but if you are outright seeing this was not such as issue.

In the hotel selection stage, it had to meet a few requirements: on Paseo de la Reforma, with breakfast included and with soundproof rooms. We obtained, in addition to what was required: exceptional attention from each and every one of the hotel employees, very good food at all hours, a comfortable room and the desire to stay there again. It is without a doubt a hotel that, without being ostentatious, makes its guests feel special and loved.

Answer from Ali G

It is a 25 minute drive to the basilica so taking an uber or taxi would be best. Once you got there they dropped you off and you walk all around the plaza there with both of the the basilicas.

probably best to ask the hotel. Depends on how late your checkout is.
