Good hotel, but I find the Internet maddening. You either can't connect or once you do it will kick you off for no apparent reason. The location is good, but don't walk very far down the street as it is not in a great area. Just make sure not to get lost and use your common sense. The service is...

This hotel's location is excellent, plus it's on a quiet street. Rooms are comfortable, shower soothing, breakfast buffet yummy and varied, and staff attentive. My burned out light bulb was immediately replaced. Closet huge and, though window opened, room had a tower fan as well.

Great location for exploring central Mexico City. All facilities were quite acceptable for the price. The hotel and rooms are clean and tidy. No tea/ coffee facilities in room, which was a shame. We didn't try the food but there is a handy 7/11 just along the road.

Great little hotel very close to the centre of town. Rooms are specious, clean and very comfortable with towels provided. Wifi is available in the rooms and a buffet breakfast is available. The location makes it very easy to get around on foot, by bus or by train. It's close to many cafes and plenty of corner stores and easy...

Once again, I stayed at the Hotel Metropol. The hotel is alright but found that they must have changed their cable package and now only gets CNN in English. I found this limiting. The food at the breakfast buffet the first morning was excellent but the second morning was just passable. If staying here and have an option, take the...

This hotel is well-situated, half a block from the Alameda and close to the Zocalo, Bellas Artes etc So would be good for tourists and it's also very convenient for Relaciones Exteriores. I didn't choose the hotel, my husband did and I was fairly ready to kill him for it, more so after a slow check-in with an extremely surly...

I was having a relatively decent stay until this morning when I went to get change for a 100 pesos bill (about 6 dollars). At both the hotel reception and at the restaurant cashier in order to be able to tip housekeeping. To me they are the hardest working of the hotel staff. Both places flatly refused to do it...

This s a pretty average, mid-range hotel in Mexico City. It's quite well situated for the price, with a 7/11store only a few metres away, and a short walk to many of the main tourist features. There was an Italian restaurant, Ginos, about 3 minutes walk away, and we ate there twice. This was mainly due to the location -...

Staying in Alameda

Neighbourhood Profile
Alameda
This beautiful park was once the playground for the wealthiest families in the colonial era, and is now the perfect place where locals and visitors can spend a sunny weekend afternoon to relax or shop for souvenirs at the market. Kids can run around or grab a bite of cotton candy while teens and adults wander around admiring the charming gardens and the sculptures that adorn it. Once the heat rises, it may be time to visit one of the many cozy restaurants or cafés with its characteristic art nouveau facades to cool down and call it a day.
