My recent stay at the JW Marriott in Polanco, Mexico City left an indelible mark on me. From the moment I stepped through the elegant doors, I knew this experience would be unlike any other. Allow me to share the highlights of my remarkable stay.

Personalized Service: Andrea Espinoza’s Thoughtful Gesture
Before our arrival, Andrea Espinoza extended a warm welcome via email. Her proactive approach ensured that our needs were met even before we set foot in the hotel. Her attention to detail set the tone for an exceptional stay.

Celebrating Special Occasions: An Unforgettable Anniversary and Birthday
Traveling with my wife and our one-year-old, we had two significant reasons to celebrate: our anniversary and our child’s birthday. Andrea had thoughtfully prepared our room with a crib, making our stay comfortable and convenient.

Champagne and Strawberries: A Sweet Surprise
On the night of our anniversary (which coincided with our child’s birthday), we returned to our room to find a delightful surprise: a bottle of complimentary champagne and a platter of fresh strawberries. The gesture made our celebration even more memorable.

A Teddy Bear for Our Little One
Our child received an adorable teddy bear as a birthday gift. It was a heartwarming touch that made us feel like valued guests.

Seventh Heaven: Consistently Outstanding Experiences
This marked my seventh stay at the JW Marriott in 2023, and each visit surpasses the last. The recent completion of construction adds to the hotel’s allure.

Prime Location: Ideal for Couples and Families
Situated in Polanco, the hotel boasts a prime location. Whether you’re a couple seeking a romantic getaway or a family in search of entertainment, there’s something for everyone nearby.

First-Class Staff: Always Ready to Assist
The JW Marriott’s staff exemplifies excellence. Their attentiveness and willingness to assist elevate the overall experience.

A Promise to Return
As I plan my next trip to Mexico City, one thing remains certain: I will continue to choose the JW Marriott in Polanco. It has become my home away from home.

This was my first stay at the JW Marriott in Polanco & from check in to check out my stay was excellent. Check in was quick and my room was on a high floor with a great view of Mexico City. The room was well appointed and bed was comfortable. The hotel itself is very elegant and the lobby atrium was filled with natural light.

Wendy, Wendy, Wendy. Our stay was awesome simply because of her attention to detail for our group. Thank you for making our trip great! Kids enjoyed the pool, fitness center staff was cool, housekeeping did an AMAZING job everyday. The hotel has a central location to all the activities we wanted and walking was definitely the best way to get around.

We had a wonderful experience at the JW Marriott in Polanco. The location is prime for luxury shopping and dining. Chapultepec Park is just across from the hotel and has so much to offer.

We had chosen the club level and really enjoyed the amenities it offered. The fitness room is great and the breakfast was wonderful. Would definitely stay here again on a visit to Mexico City.

We stayed at the Hyatt because of the wonderful reviews on Trip Advisor and couldn't have been happier. Gracias por todo Miriam!! The hotel is lovely, great fitness facilities, and the friendliest staff in town. Having lived in Mexico City for many years in the past, I was very pleased to see how this hotel has spared no expense for their customers' every request. Great concierge service, and safe, comfortable taxis and drivers waiting at the curb - worth the extra cost for security. The drivers have a list of their charges to every major spot set, so you can ask the price up front. The executive package provides a great breakfast and light dinner served on the 19th floor by wonderful staff - English spoken. Do wander in Polanco, as it is very well guarded and Masaryk street is now the city's Rodeo Drive. The Zona Polanco market area has lots of great restaurants and shops, and is only 3 blocks away - concierge will get you everywhere in English. Easy walk to the Museum of Anthropology and Chapultec Castle - both first class. Avoid the Zona Rosa (pink zone) at all costs. The few hotels left are now in the middle of a totally decayed area. It was a vibrant place in the '70's & 80's, but now most stores are for sale or for rent. Definitely not a safe place to wander any longer.
If you are in the city on Wednesday or Sunday DO NOT MISS going to the beautiful Bellas Artes to see the Mexican Ballet Folklorico - Wednesday and Sunday evenings and Sunday morning at 9:30. This is not ballet as we know it, but over a dozen traditional costumed dances from the many eras and regions of the country - truly first class!! No problem getting tickets at the door and do dress casually for the downtown area for security - we felt very safe with the good police presence. Good to go in the morning in the day light, then cross over to the beautiful Sanborn's House of Tiles store (english magazines/books) and restaurant - in an old 16th Century home - for a yummy breakfast (great huevos revueltos a la Mexicana, or chiliquiles), then walk down to the zocalo to see the Cathedral, the Templo Major, and the wonderful Diego Rivera murals at the Presidential Palace. Best part of this day was the enormous Sunday market all around the church. Great prices for artisanias, as we travelled extensively for 3 weeks and couldn't beat their prices in any other city market. Sunday is the very best day to see the zocalo area, as the traffic in the downtown is minimal compared to Monday to Saturday. Don't be afraid to see all the wonderful sights in the city, as it is no more dangerous than the downtowns of many US cities - just use your big city street smarts and you'll have a great time.
Starting our day out having a leisurely breakfast at the Hyatt and ending with a light dinner, (remember lunch time in Mexico is the big meal of the day) really made our time so much more enjoyable.
Thanks to all of the terrific staff!!!

Came to stay at the JW Marriott on business for a few weeks and found it very nice, except for the fact that the hotel staff stole a gift that was delivered by my business associates. Imagine how unmannerly they thought I was for never thanking them for the gift they thought would be waiting in my room upon my arrival. It wasn't until 2 weeks into my stay that someone asked if I didn't like the gift. When I told them I never received one my business associates called to inquire and the hotel told them that I was not a registered guest so therefore they could not be held accountable for any deliveries. Not sure how I was unregistered after having reservations for a month prior and staying there for 3 weeks. It is a decent hotel, but don't leave anything valuable in the rooms or have anything delivered there. They will steal it and not apologize for it. Stay somewhere else.

There are several fine hotels that I have stayed at around the Zona Rosa and Polanco areas (Sheraton Maria Isabel and Nikko to name 2), but the JW Marriott tops them all by quietly and confidently excelling in ALL areas. Both business and nightlife makes trips to this area tiresome, but when you return to the JW at the end of the night, it is so quiet and relaxing that you are guaranteed a great night's sleep. The beds are the best around, and yes, there's a great chocolate waiting for you on the pillow. The dry cleaning is in your room before 5 pm the same day. The 7th floor workout facility includes high-grade treadmills and LifeSteppers, and an outdoor open-air patio with a swimming pool, hot tub, and lounge chairs/tables. The concierges are truly like your best friends from high school when it comes to making every last effort to help you anything you need. And, it has the most fantastic breakfast in the city without feeling like you are in a crowded train station -- very relaxing. Cooked-to-order items are fast and perfect, and Europeans, Mexicans, and Americans alike will find their home favorites here.Worried about english? They all speak it perfectly with a smile. Forget something? They have it in the lobby store (even more bizarre products such as styling gel, etc.)Recently there was a big 7.6 earthquake which shook the area (centered away from the city), but not one piece of anything fell off the tables in the room.I cannot imagine a better hotel, and always look forward to staying there when away from home.

I stayed at this hotel by accident as I had lost a flight and was grounded until the next day which was September 11th... which made me stay an even longer time. The hotel is in every sense aewsome, very clean and modern, rooms are very confortable, but the service there is by far the warmest ever. Their concierge desk is the most resourseful I have ever worked with, in light of the flight ban into the US they arranged a seat on a domestic airliner which flew me to Tijuana and I then crossed the international border by foot. I then rented a car and got home safely. It is not the kind of service you expect from a normal Marriott, but this one is special. I will always stay at this hotel in the future.

Just returned from a brief business trip to Mexico City where I attended a meeting at the Hotel Royal Pedregal (don't bother) and had a couple of days extra to treat myself. The JW Marriott is a treat, set just off the Reforma, across from the National Auditorium, and adjacent to the Polanco area. The hotel sits next to the new W Hotel and just down from the Intercontinental. The hotel building is a lovely pale pink, and the entry is just off a large, airy atrium that houses a nice restaurant (La Griglia) and a few other businesses. This is a very safe and elegant place. The entry to the hotel is almost boutique-like, nice and warm and friendly. The staff is exceptionally inviting. I had all day Saturday and Sunday morning for my "vacation" time. The Marriott offered a "Prehispanic package" that included early check-in/late check-out, $25 USD coupon for the La Griglia restaurant, 2 cocktails at the lobby bar, breakfast in the very nice Primavera restaurant, 30% off the minibar, and best of all, a tour to Teotihuacan for $219 (before taxes and fees). I thought this was very reasonable since the hotel was 4-5 star, and the room was lovely, with windows overlooking town, and a nice marble bathroom. The bed was heavily "linened" and very comfortable with lots of pillows and comforters. Nice turndown service, and the high floor (17) and heavy curtains kept out all noise. The hotel accomodated me with early check-in (about 9 am, but earlier would have been fine), and the breakfast buffet was sensational in a very bright and airy room. The Anthopology Museum (a must-see) is about a 15 minute walk down the Reforma, and the cow statues along the way are a hoot! I spent about 4 hours at the museum Saturday morning (just barely enough time) and got back to the hotel for my 2:00 tour. The bilingual tour guide (Al) was great, and the tour was really private with just 3 other participants. This is the low tourist season, so it would be much busier later in the year, peaking in June/July according to Al. The drive to Teotihuacan was a drag since it took about an hour or more to drive 30 miles because of the famous traffic, but we were in a nice, new air-conditioned van. Teotihuacan itself is one of the great archeological sites of the world. The tour also included a trip to the Shrine of Guadalupe. The tour lasted about 5 hours (would have been about $30 if separate) and we were back by 7:30 pm. I had time for a quick sauna and sit in the outdoor jacuzzi before dinner (the pool/gym/spa areas are superb and included in the cost). Dinner at La Griglia was fine, but I was too tired to really enjoy it. Very reasonable with the $25 USD coupon (about $50 USD with a bottle of wine, another glass of wine, and 3 courses; I took most of the bottle of wine and some resoto with me). Also the free margarita in the lobby bar was a nice touch. Walked all the way down Reforma to the Zocalo the next morning (took about 1.5 hours, but I like to walk). The walk was a very nice way to see the downtown and business area of Mexico City. A very nice and safe experience. The Zocalo is in the Centro Historico, and is an essential part of a visit. The Palace del Belle Artes is also a must for seeing the Diego Rivera murals. The Templo Major (Aztec ruin) is located near the Zocalo. Took a taxi back to the hotel, and had a little time for a swim in the heated pool, jacuzzi, and sauna. Light lunch (leftovers), and then off to the airport. The check-out at the hotel was a little troublesome because of all the perks that came with this package, so check the receipt carefully if there are a lot of add-ons. No problema, though, after I pointed out all the charges. One last free margarita in the bar, then a 30 min drive to the airport (this was Sunday afternoon, so traffic was not a problem; beware during the week and plan accordingly). Overall, a very pleasant hotel with total charges with tax fees, dinner at La Griglia and a couple of beers from the minibar coming to $319. A nice little splurge for me! Loved Mexico City! The W Hotel next door was a little too spartan-looking for me.
