I've probably stayed here more than a dozen times, so I don't know why I haven't previously reviewed it. Today is my last day in the hotel this trip, and I continue to think it's an excellent choice for just about anyone who prefers to stay in one of the city's nicest residential neighborhoods from which you have good access...

A friend recommended this hotel because it was cheap. There were some pluses: the room was big, the tv worked fine, the bathroom a good size and the location is good. However, the bad stuff made it unbearable. The room was dirty. The carpet was full of make-up and when I went looking for a plug for my laptop, I...

We were supposed to stay 5 days in that hotel but after the second, we moved somewhere else. Not worth it, even for the low price. Didn't let me park my car in the garage because I didn't check In with it, I brought it later. They made me go downstairs to get a towel they forgot to put in...

We stayed here for nearly a week and were most impressed. It was a great location being very close to the Insurgentes Metro. It doesn't matter that it is not in the central district because this Metro is very frequent and fast, and in any case, attractions are not just in the Centre. We found the rooms to be of...

Simply the best option, cheap well located. Know it since a long time. You get almost the same for the over priced Hotels in Alvaro Obregon Street in La Roma. The interior design is cheap and not good taste but it doesn't matter, the place accomplish its objective, good located nice price and big rooms.

We really enjoyed the location of this hotel - lots of restaurants we had wanted to try out in the area, and easy access to transit. The advertised free wi-fi was very challenging to access however, and the rooms gave us a bit of a challenge - we had asked for (and reserved) rooms adjacent to each other, but this...

I learned about the Hotel Embassy from a tip on the Lonely Planet Thorntree. We hardly expected such a good deal for the Mexican peso equivalent of $28 USD a night. But there it is. The rooms are ample, and we have always had a king sized bed in the rooms in which we've stayed (I think about 5 or...

After a one night stand in a terrible and expensive hostel, we discovered that in mexico city it worths more to stay in a motel then in an hotel. For me, Hotel Embassy looks like a motel, with a lot of mirrors all over the room. Besides this kitsch and old fashioned decoration, it is a really excelent hotel. And...

Our first night was on the 5th floor and there was a machinery hum cycling 5 min. on and 10 min. off.It was quite annoying. The next morning we checked out the other floors and found no sound on the 3rd floor. We changed rooms to the 3rd and had 3 more days there and it was good. The rooms are really comfy...

This hotel is quite nicely located in Roma district. It has all of the things that are necessary - a good bed and a hot shower. The wifi is only available in the lobby area and is free, but is quite annoying that you have to go all the way down to the lobby to access it. However, it is...

Staying in Roma

Neighbourhood Profile
Known for its constant cultural and gastronomic developments, Roma, is a beautiful neighborhood that was once the place for poets such as Kerouac and Ginsberg to call home. Galleries, museums and even private residences are on beautiful display when walking through Colima street to do some necessary shopping or when going to the classic Cine Tonalá to enjoy a delicious dinner and a great film. Top notch cafés, gourmet restaurants and food markets all around will surely catch your senses by surprise.

“The jacuzzi suite, while inexpensive, is not worthwhile. The skylight over the jacuzzi admits light, and the usual well planned bathroom has been sacrificed. The closet is actually in the bathroom entrance. Get a regular room. The excellent Café Toscano is a great place for coffee and light food, just around the block to the south, on Calle Orizaba.”
