Whilst I believe for a tourist that this is the best place to stay, I would not describe it as five star luxury. It is full of charm being a converted convent and we stayed here for the first time in 1998 choosing again to stay here in December 2016. Rooms are good as is hotel service. Breakfast was served...

The Quinta Real Oaxaca is one of the prettiest hotels I've ever stayed. The flowers are amazing; there's one courtyard with plantings and pots of bougainvillea that's just breathtaking. The restaurant has seating inside and in a courtyard and makes a beautiful setting for a nice meal. The hotel is in a former convent, and although I only saw a...

A wonderful hotel in a restored 1550 convent in the heart of the historic centre of Oaxaca. Magical hotel if you are a history or restoration buff. Really enjoyed the breakfast buffet with Mexican baked goods and omelette station. Also enjoyed exploring site's nooks and cranys, especially the wash station and some of the small chapels. Those nuns must have...

We really enjoyed staying in this hotel. Outside it did not look much but inside the hotel had beautiful ground and was architecturally wonderful with old time Mexican charm. It was also very near many fine restaurants and sights of the old town. Our second floor room facing the inside courtyard was lovely. They had a few places to eat....

Stood there for three nights and enjoyed every moment. The concierge (especially Carlos) was very helpful in organizing our tours (selected Franky for us and he really did a great job) and recommending places in town. The rooms are nice and spacious and the courts, including the one with the pool invite also to spend some time in the hotel...

We stayed at Quinta Real in October and loved it. Our room and bed were very comfortable and the staff so helpful! Our room was very quiet. They sent a driver to the airport for us. There was a welcoming drink for us when we arrived. This hotel pays close attention to detail.

This is a large hotel on two floors spread over a wide area, with several shady courtyards. It is very central and we walked everywhere, even back from the fabulous Guelaguetza show. We had a large room, though I think they all are, which was very comfortable. Breakfast was really excellent: gorgeous selection of fresh fruit including melon, watermelon, kiwi,...

Yes, this is a nice hotel. However someone in the Quinta real chain decided all rooms should be called suites. Great for getting the rooms sold. Not great for customers who are expecting a suite and are getting a room with a double bed. . It was explained to us that when you book a suite room with this chain...

Stayed at the Quinta Real Oaxaca for 6 nights. The building and grounds are spectacular-historic charm, beautifully maintained, charming and helpful staff and great breakfast buffet. Located in the heart of the historic center, just minutes away from restaurants, shopping and architecturally interesting sites.

Once you step into the thick walls of this former convent (pass the impressive array of suited men - doormen?, bellboys?, security? - and get the attention of one of the concierges (always on the phone) you find yourself in a wonder world of courtyards, arched walkways and surprising vistas on rooftops. Your room surely will get you into a...
