I was plenty comfortable at this hotel. I had the junior suite. I do think the hotel was expensive for what it offered. It is much simpler and rustic than the images indicate. Pros: Location is excellent. In the center of town, but on one of the quietest streets. Quiet (at least where I was, in the back of the...

The time we spend in this Hotel was very Good. The only recomendation I have is that in the showers the water has to have more pressure. They need to upgrade the Internet quality. In overall is a nice well located Hotel

The hotel itself is simple and should serve as a place to sleep. If you want a pool, room service etc, opt for another hotel. We stayed here for 4 days and as we were looking to taste all local flavors, we choose this hotel, even though there is no breakfast served. An excellent reason to explore and find good...

Quiet, comfortable, well located, and well priced (maybe a bit high relative to others in the same category, but the location is great). I stayed in three hotels in Oaxaca over two weeks. This is the one I would return to. Keep in mind that in Oaxaca, most hotels open to a courtyard, which means not much opportunity for ventilation....

My two friends and I agreed that we were perfectly happy at the Hotel Parador Monte Carmelo. The building is classic Mexican colonial, which helps you soak in the atmosphere and culture. The staff was friendly and helpful. (There was bar soap, shampoo, and kleenex.) Street sounds did not enter, although sounds within the building bounce and amplify as they...

I stayed here with friends at the end of December. We arrived in Oaxaca with a booking for another hotel (via Hotel club) however that hotel was full. They rung around and recommended the Hotel Monte Carmelo which had two rooms for the three nights we required. As per other reviews the front desk/hotel staff speak little to no english....

This hotel looks pleasant. The beds are like slabs of concrete. The pillows are like rocks. The towels are like sandpaper. The tub was situated in such a way that one needed to be an Olympic gymnast to get in the shower. The staff was pleasant and tried hard to please, but the room was too uncomfortable. We moved after...

The hotel is very quiet and clean, with comfortable beds and very hot water. The staff are very pleasant and helpful, but speak almost no English. They use a web-based translator that works fairly well for simple situations. As a photographer who needs to recharge things every day I was glad to find two convenient electrical sockets. I missed things...
