Sotano is a beautiful, very well maintained old hotel, centered around a peaceful plaza. Convenient to good restaurants, zocalo, etc., as long as you don't mind walking a few blocks. Comfortable beds and everything (showers, etc.) works fine. Friendly and helpful staff.

This is the sweetest little hotel in Oaxaca. Very clean. Nicely laid out. Beautiful spaces around the hotel - breakfast outside, deck overlooking the city, nice bar, lots of spaces to sit, great food in bar. Very nice staff. Great location. Excellent price.

Very nice hotel. The rooms and decor remind me of a lot of Mexican homes I have visited. Staff are friendly - they have Netflix hooked up to the tv - very nice touch. The only downside in no air conditioning - there is a fan and the heat is not overwhelming but for a Canadian in Mexico air conditioning...

We arrived to the hotel very late at night, but they made sure someone would be there to check us in. We enjoyed our stay in Oaxaca and the location of the hotel was amazing - close to the center of everything. Our room was charming and had everything we needed. We enjoyed that we could order breakfast at the...

This is charming hotel with a central courtyard and friendly staff. It is so fitting for he town and it makes one feel included.and no coffe in the room. The only drawbacks were small bathroom. Other than that, one can tell by the repeat clientele, that this truly is a great destination. Finally there is a small bar, the one...

This hotel is a 15 minute walk to the center of Oaxaca. It sits on a quiet street a bit away from the hustle of Oaxaca. The courtyard is very nice and the quality of the rooms is excellent. My only issue was that the TV did not work with the cable box. No problem as I brought a Roku...

I arrived at Hotel Casa del Sotano about 9:30 PM with only American money. I had to pay in pesos and there was no place to change money that late. The manager told me to go ahead and stay the night and I can bring him the money the next day. I couldn't believe this man trusted me having never...

Hotel Casa del Sotano is an intimate hotel with a most charming garden interior. Close to the "action", it is easily accessible to Churches, restaurants and places of interest. The staff is so friendly and the young man, Eric, who operates the evening "snack" bar is most accommodating. He really goes out of his way to make patrons feel welcome...

I really liked this hotel it was small and cozy the rooms were acceptable and the location was great for me although I wouldn't take my mother to this hotel due to the location. it is in a pretty central area walkable to most everything but there is an incline to return to the hotel which might be a bit...

Walking distance to everything you'll want to see and do in Oaxaca. Amazing 360 degree view from the upper terrace. Clean, comfortable, secure room. Safes available in the reception area - we felt no need to lock anything in the safe. The staff was attentive, helpful and kind. Be sure to sample the mezcal truffles and home baked goodies in...
