I fell upon this little gem while traveling solo in Mexico. Luxurious it is not. That said, it is quaint, clean and has the friendliest staff I've ever come across. I needed my filthy clothes laundered on a weekend and out of hours. They arranged a backpack load to be done in 3 hours for US$8! Safe and centrally located... More

We have stayed here many times. This time was supposed to be a trip for a friend to know a city we have come to love. It did not turn out that way! My partner arrived ill, continued to get worse, my friend came down with flu like symptoms....hotel found us a lovely Doctor who came to our room. They... More

We have been visiting Oaxaca yearly for the past 7 or more years. When we are in Oaxaca we always stay at Casa Vertiz. It has become our home away from home. All of the people who work there are attentive, kind and helpful. They are available to answer questions and make helpful suggestions regarding events and places of interest.... More

The premises were beautiful, with a lovely atrium to have breakfast or a beer. Our room was upstairs near the large patio overlooking the street and the mountains in the distance. We spent lots of time at the nearby open air markets, shops, coffee houses, mezcalerias. However touristy the area is, this is a beautiful place to stay.

Hotel is in a great location Oaxaca centro within walking distance of some great bars and restaurants. There was some confusion over the "included breakfast", I recommend not getting the included breakfast and just pay for meals as you go or charge them to your room. There was only one English speaking concierge who was very friendly and helpful. Although... More

This was our second Hotel in Oaxaca...The rooms are simple, but brand new and perfectly clean. It gets a little noisy, but I guess this happens in every hotel that is located right in the center of Oaxaca´s City. People is very friendly, but don´t expect a fast service anywhere in Oaxaca, people takes their time, and casa Vertiz is... More

Great food as well as the rest of Oaxaca. Beds are very firm, very clean rooms, staff very friendly, WiFi good. Stayed 4 nights first time, had bad septic smell in our bathroom and one day without hot water. Told them about it but when we left. Returned for one more night and asked for different room, had no problems... More

We arrived at 9am after the long overnight bus ride from San Cristobal. We were told our room 203 would not be ready until 2pm; fair enough. We returned from our day tour at 5pm to be told that room 203 was 'no longer available' and instead we would have room 104. Fair enough, until we took our cases to... More

I loved the restaurant area in the green central courtyard and the rooftop terrace is great for hanging out in the evenings...rooms are not huge, but decorated nicely and the staff is very friendly...extra plus is that its right next to La Olla restaurant!

I stayed here with my mom for 5 days, it's a really nice hotel, everything is really clean, everyone is very helpful, beds are so comfortable. The only thing i didn't like was that we were almost next to the kitchen so it was a little bit loud in the mornings and nights. I think the rooms on the second... More
