The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff are super helpful and always available to help. They have a large open yard in the back, that we used to socialize and have the odd campfire. Very family friendly and they offer different types of lodging, from camping to private rooms. Great place if you are on a budget and want...

Before going on I should mention that there is certain type of person who will stay here and like it. The long term traveller hippie types who seem to be living there - but for your average backpacker7holidaymaker this is not great. Location: As far away from the bus station as you can get within the centre. Easy to fond,...

I hate to break a streak of good reviews, but it's clear there have been some changes for the worse here recently. Staying at Casa caracol was less like being part of someone's family and more like showing up at a house party that's been raging for awhile: people are in various states of intoxication but happy to see you,...

when I came to Caracol they were so welcoming in a very nice family way! I came back twice and every time they know you and will always want your best! Both for trips or adventures or recommendations, or they just take care and make sure everyone is feeling good there. I can't say I'd rather go somewhere else, it...

I am unable to say enough positive things about La Casa Caracol. It is far more than just a hostel. It is an experiment in permaculture, a place of education, art, and culture. As a hostel I couldn't ask for more, very clean, well equipped communal kitchen (with free drinkable water), hot showers, good wifi, a detailed map of the...

Meant to make this review ages ago! I stayed at Casa Caraol for about 6 weeks in August/September 2013 when carrying out my dissertation research. Easily the best and most welcoming hostel I have ever stayed in. animals, murals, an open fire...what more could you want! Casa Caracol doesn't feel like a hostel at all, more like a home, exactly...
