Bela's B&B is simply a wonderful home for your trip in San Cristobal de las Casas. Here is why I say that: 1. Location. A very pleasant eight minute walk from the cathedral/ zocalo along a pedestrian friendly route. 2. Environment. Step inside the heavy wooden doors and you will find the rooms arranged around a delightful garden courtyard. There...

She describes herself on her business card as Hostess Extraordinaire. But Bela Wood is far too modest. She could have been a world class interior decorator or a peerless horticulturist or--considering the bottomless wellsprings of altruism and benevolence oozing from every square foot of the paradisiacal environment she has created for those lucky enough to be her guests--a renowned laureate...

I stayed with two friends at Bela's for four nights. The entire experience was very lovely: Bela was speedy to respond to emails when booking and helped us organise a transfer from the airport; the room was super clean and delightfully decorated; the garden was pretty and the breakfast room very cosy with lots of yummy food. Bela was also...

Bela's place is lovely! Our room was beautiful and filled with quirky furnishings, comfy beds and a nice clean bathroom. Bela was very friendly and helpful and provided great advice and tips about things to do and places to go to in San Christobal. Breakfast was yummy by the fire each morning, accompanied by some of Bela's very cute puppies...

This is our second stay at Bela's B&B. There is no other place we'd even consider. Bela's is ground zero in San Cristobal and immensely walkable to everything this town has to offer. I am a Curator of Art and I would consider Bela to be a curator too. Every detail of her place is carefully considered from the choice...

We really enjoyed your visit and if we could rate guests you two couples would definitely be a 10 (each). Your visit(s) was so enjoyable; everybody should be so lucky to host you. Thank you for your lovely comments and your great photos, laughter around the table, and your presence and consideration of us most of all. We felt lucky...

Despite the pictures I saw before arrival I was not prepared for how beautiful and charming Bela's B & B was and I truly was blown away by Bela's hospitality. At the beginning of the stay the nights were chilly....didn't bother me, I had a heated mattress pad on the bed. That won my heart instantly, and then I noticed the...

This was our second stay at Bela's and it felt like coming home. We love the garden with bougainvillea and hummingbirds, the views of the mountains from our upstairs suite, the spacious room and sunken bathtub, the thick towels, the comfortable bed and heated mattress cover (bought one for ourselves when we got home the first time) and the fresh,...
