I had high expectations about this hotel, because of the price and because I had been here years ago, before it was remodeled, but unfortunately, I was a little disappointed. The best thing about this hotel is the location. It is right on the malecon, across the street from the La Parroquia Cafe. We made reservations on booking, and at check in we were offered to upgrade the room for $500 more per room. We accepted, and got two adjacent rooms on a very nice floor with a fabulous view, as the receptionist told us. Our rooms had in fact a great view, but, our windows were so dirty, we couldn’t appreciate the views. Also, the wrap around balcony had dirty floors and the outside walls of the hotel were filthy. Our mirror in the bathroom wasn’t clean either. I feel like they just cleaned the glass with a damp cloth, instead of using a cleaning product like windex. Also, on the outside walls, they could just pressure wash them, to make them clean. Our beds, while they had clean sheets, were not very comfortable, pillows were too flat. They have live music at the lobby on Saturday nights, and they also have happy hour then. It's a cool thing to do...…
This hotel is a total shambles. No organisation at all We arrived back at the hotel at 10:30pm after 10hrs at work. To find the room not made up it was totally stinking from the wet towels left all day in the heat. Horrible. When called to reception they put us on hold for 23 mins. A total disgrace to a such nice hotel
When I arrived to check-in I was greeted by Ivan and Ariel, they were very courteous, polite and friendly. Then the bellboy, Omar, very polite and informative. He told us where to go, what do in Veracruz. Bed and pillows comfortable. Great location, by the Malecón. You will not be disappointed.
The receptionist Ivan made our check in very smooth and was very friendly and helpful whenever we had questions and needed assistance with anything. A true ambassador for the hotel. We had som issues with the air conditioning in the room, but maintenance personnel took care of that right away. The gym was good and kept a relatively high standard. The room service was taking a bit to long time and it became many orders that did not arrive as ordered. Some room service personnel was actively asking for tip, which I find very rude. The overall condition is not in 5-star standard. I would not recommend this hotel for none-Spanish speaking guests. It was only a few of the people working there that spoke English.
You can feel the bad maintenance of the rooms, not even talking about the balcony. The staff is kind but not resolutive in front of any inconvenience. The breakfast is really good and has many different dishes.
