The best restaurant is Bogavante with great service from Capitan Darwin and servers Jaime and Angel for dinner and Anayela Richard and Archie for lunch. Breakfast at Cafe Solaris was awesome, Thank you Anayela and Richard. Room cleaning service was great, our room 2428 was cleaned daily and all requests were taken care of. Pool service by Omar, Nancy, and bar staff was quick and often. Thanks for a great vacation.
What a fun and relaxing week. The scenery was breathtaking and the daily entertainment was big fun for both kids and adults. Gio, and his team left a lasting impression. The fitness classes and daytime games were a great way to stay active and pass the time, crescendoing into the night shows for the perfect end to a day in paradise. Definitely will recommend it. My only complaint is the drinks are to watered down.
This resort is terrible! The only good thing is the staff are very nice. The problems: The layout is frighteningly bad. You have to go up, down, and around in circles to get anywhere. The only option for breakfast is a buffet (well two). There are never choices for meat and if you want bacon you have to ask! There is never an option for fresh fruit juice. Lunch again is either a buffet or small shacks next to the pool. What they call sushi has no fish and almost every option includes cream cheese - this is not sushi! There is no way to properly book a restaurant for dinner. You have to screen shot a QR code to launch a web page every time. Today even though we had a reservation and our concierge could validate it, we were told that we weren't on the list at the restaurant. The reservations we did book had identical menus for the Mexican restaurants and Italian resaurants. What is the point having 2 restaurants that serve exactly the same food? The beach is small and the area available for swimming is even smaller (50 feet maybe). The pools are colder than the ocean and the hot tubs can at best be called "lukewarm tubs". The watersport area is across a 4 lane road, and if you've ever been to Mexico you know crossing a 4 lane road is a form of Russian roulette. The individuals who book excursions are "confused" when you request a specific excursion that isn't directly related to the resort and will book you into something that they insist is "the same", but is woefully lacking at the same price. We paid for a room upgrade to have an ocean view, while we did have the oceanview, our friends who did not had a larger room with a balcony! To add insult to injury there are always people trying to sell you a membership. Why would anyone want to be locked into the worst possible vacation option in Cancun?!…
Linda from The Spa at GR Caribe and Royal Solaris was incredible. She did my daughter and nieces nails and did an amazing manicure for both of them; they came out beautifully! She also did braids and beads for my 6 year old niece, 3 year old niece, as well as Dutch braids for my daughter. She was so kind, gentle, patient, pleasant and professional to work with. Highly recommended. Linda took her time with each girl and made them feel so special! My husband and I also met with Leo and Miriam at the spa for deep tissue massages and they were great! Professional and very knowledgeable spa attendants. Great experience all together.
Prior to arrival my Husband had made pick up reservation with G.R. Caribe Upon arrival we got off the plane and made our way to the pick-up location. No one showed up. My husband called the number for reservations, and they replied give them 10 minutes. Finally, they arrived. Our hotel Check in was made easy by our RCI Concierge Gilberto. He explained how important it was to make dinner reservations for the premium restaurants before 10:00 am every day and we had to use a scan code we could download. He made our first night's reservation for us. Our room was beautiful, big and extremely comfortable full of useful accommodations. We had lovely views from our room window facing the ocean and our door facing the canal. We had all inclusive, NOW let me share our experience with you. Drinks are a hit and miss, depending on the bar. Beers are good, cocktails again hit and miss. Main bar downstairs in the GR Caribe are awesome! Pool side are descent for beers. You are allowed to use your own cups, bring an insulated one! We did not know this prior. (They reuse the plastic 10oz cups, some of the plastic rims were broken and sharp on lips.) Not a wine drinker, I know it was available so will not comment on this. FOOD.... Buffet in Solaris was great for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Servers are a hit and miss, Javier is amazing, and everyone should be like him!!! Cafe in Caribe is buffet style for breakfast also good. Dinner is descent. Pool side buffet had good nachos, wings, onion wings salad, etc. Hamburgers and hot dogs are very different texture than USA ground meat. Premium Restaurants, Marco Polo is great, the other two go from okay to no way! Some of the meals were inedible. Pizza by the pool was great! Sushi by the pool made my husband sick for a few days! Room Service is a joke! Do not depend on food arriving in under an 90 mins. Hopefully when it does it is edible! We did not gain any weight when on vacation! Definitely do some tours! Isla of Mujeres was awesome. We used the Adventurous Crew, and they made our adventure spectacular! Chitzan Itzu and swimming in the Cenotes was awesome! We booked our trips through SOL HA. in the Solaris. My highlights, HOUSE KEEPING, our lady was WONDERFUL! She serviced our room every day, topped off our refrigerator and all our bathroom essentials! Most of the hotel staff are friendly and hospitable. Will come back to Cancun not sure about All-inclusive due to my experience.…
The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The hotel and our room were spotless, always. The meals were very good, but a little more variety would have been great; definitely more authentic Mexican food because the items that were available were delicious! Everything was spotless, including the beach. I definitely recommend this resort for families or couples looking for a quieter stay somewhere. The pool area had a lounge feeling, very relaxed with great music, drinks, and food, but the (other) attached hotel is definitely a bonus if you want more action during the day (swim-up bar, games, music, etc.)
A great resort for what you pay for. My boyfriend and I came here and thoroughly enjoyed it. The hotel is clearly dated and could use some renovations but we had no issues with our technology, wifi, room, or anything else. The staff are exceptional and really go out of their way to help you with whatever you need. Some of our favorites were Limberth and Paul, but everyone was very kind. The food is good, not exceptional with the buffets but the specialty restaurants are quite nice. The staff could be more accommodating and understanding with food allergies as my boyfriend was given coconut when he was allergic, luckily some quick Benadryl did the trick. Overall we would really recommend this resort and the amenities provided. A very relaxing and enjoyable vacation!
This was our 5th time here. Love coming back to this resort as the food is amazing and staff are very friendly. Darwin and his staff at Bogavante are great and you cannot beat the view for lunch and dinner at this restaurant. Also have to give a shout out to our beach service gal Saira. She was terrific. Always a smile and making us laugh. Last but not least our maid Deysi always getting our room cleaned in a timely manner and loved all her creativity with towels and bedding. Great trip! We will be back.
Beautiful rooms, beach is amazing, food and atmosphere wonderful...shout out to Darwin and Alberto at the best on the water restaurant in the area Bogavante for always making it a delicious and memorable meal and also the very efficient housekeeper Socotro for working around our crazy beach schedule and the fastest compliment giver and drink deliverer Saira. The staff tries to make you feel right at home.
Me and my family had dinner one night at the restaurant Bogavante. It is one of the restaurants at the resort where you have to make a reservation. Our server, Niko, was amazing, attentive, and very helpful. He helped provide us information related to the menu and how to navigate different things around the resort.
