I Stayed in Room 2221 From May 9, 2020 to May 17, 2020. I was very grateful to the helpful staff to stay there. The staff were wonderful. Special appreciation for Gabriel the Bar tender, Gabriel , Diego, in the Restaurant,The Maid who serviced my room Sandra - She made many animals out of towels - each day it was a pleasant surprise. Eduardo Garcia was very helpful in helping me with my reservation details. The whole staff was really friendly and very helpful. Thank all of you for making my stay more enjoyable.

First and foremost, my girlfriend and I booked through travelcomm. As im sure most of you know from other posts stay as far away from them as possible! Any how we were lucky enough to stay at the holiday inn cancun arenas. Now there is still some contruction going on and we were informed that the hotel will not be completely finished until march, yet the 2nd of 3 to be restaraunts was in shambles when we arrived and we ate there on our last day for breakfast! They have crews working exceptionally fast. There was some early noise of construction at about 8am which wasnt that bad as we woke up, got breakfast at the restaraunt and either layed out and went shopping.

The hotel staff is first class all the way! Nothing but a smile from everybody. They will open doors for you, they pulled out our chairs for us at every meal and placed napkins in our laps. The Dilleto Italian restaraunt was the main place to eat for our stay they served a limited breakfast menu but now you get your breakfast at the new Buffet arenas restaraunt which just opened and had an excellent selection of fresh fruits pastries eggs to order, pancakes, toast, yogurt, cereal, and mexican specialties! All were very good. Even though it was a buffet staff would offer to bring you your food after you ordered it from the cook and would refill your beverages for you! You can get lunch at the snack bar by the pool bar which had XX's on tap and pretty much every liquor for cocktails. The menu contained the basics, quesadillas, great pizzas, an average burger, but great burritos. You can also eat lunch in the dilleto but now i think they will be serving a buffet in the new arenas restaraunt. The lunch in the dilleto was good we only ate there once, but were satisfied we ate at the snack bar pretty much everyday (short walk from the beach for cerveza refills..grab 2) Dinner at the dilleto was pretty good. Im not a very picky eater but never left unhappy. they offer two soups two salads, and about 5-7 main course options with more options on weekends. desserts are also available very good tiramisu!

The lobby bar was a great hang out for a low key night after a day at the beach or a day of shopping in town or in the hotel zone. Hugo the full-time PM bartender is awesome!

Our first day there we were put in a room with two double beds and were told immediately from the gentleman who brought our bags up to the room that there would be a king bed room available the next day, Next night, done no problem. The rooms are large very clean and have ice cold A/C. A majority of the rooms have ocean views. The hallways are very spacious and hollow which makes a lot of noise unfortunately. Each room had a safe and a large bathroom. You can tell that they are hurrying to finish the hotel as on a few spots on windows there are minimal paint or calk stains which im sure they will clean when all is said and done. My only dissapointment with the hotel is the sheets. they arent the sheets that should be on the beds of the caliber hotel the holiday inn is trying to be.

They have a great entertainment staff that were active everyday getting people involved in beach volleyball, pool volleyball, and water polo! We had some great matches, and a lot of fun! My hats off to Octavio, he did a great job! They also go out to a club every night of the week. GO TO THE COCO BONGO! enough said. They also show a movie pretty much everynight in the lobby bar, but i believe they said that they have a theatre that was almost complete for movie showings. I'm sure there is something that I am leaving out but all in all this is a great hotel at a great price, my advice to you would be to book it in march or april when it is completely done. I would definately go back to this hotel and reccomend it to friends and family, they have 24 security and I felt safe at all times! there are also bus stops directly in front of the hotel that will take you either in town or the main hotel zone! Good luck and enjoy!

OK, so much pro and con has been written about this hotel, I will try to cut through the other 95+ reviews and tell you how it is. I am an airline pilot. I stay in hotels for a living, anywhere from Best Western, to Westin and Omni, etc. There is nothing wrong with this hotel. What is wrong is some people's expectations. I will explain. The hotel was perfectly clean; lobby, rooms and grounds. We had 2 rooms for the family, and neither had any sign of mildew or ants. The staff was very friendly and courteous, and most spoke English fairly well. The restaurant food was excellent, both in quality, and also in presentation in the 2 fancier restaurants. Contrary to other reviews, I didn't see one single hotdog the entire stay. The air conditioning in the rooms was cold, and had digital thermostats that worked very well. I don't see how other reviewers could complain about the A/C; turn it up or off if you are too cold. My wife and daughter had some spa treatments; my other daughter and I rented a wave runner. All went off without a hitch or complaint. As I said before, there is nothing wrong with this hotel. Now, for expectations. If you are not a frequent traveler, if you want to be around other vacationers like yourself, and meet people, or if you're looking to party, this is probably not the hotel for you. We only ran into 2 other couples from the USA during out stay. The guests seem to be predominantly from Mexico, Central America, and Europe. Very little English was spoken as a first language. As I said, the restaurant food was excellent; it is not, however, anything you would expect on a buffet in the USA. Primarily it was Mexican foods, and I mean authentic, not Taco Bell or Taco Bueno. In fact, there were no tacos, burritos, enchiladas, or tamales at all. So if you are not familiar with true Mexican foods, and are not very adventurous, the food would not make you happy. By the way, the water and ice are safe to drink here. The choices of liqour for the basic all-inclusive was excellent. Many premium brands, without paying for the premium brand option. If you are looking for activities and shopping, you might consider staying somewhere else. This hotel is great if you want to sit by the water with a book, but not much else. It is definitely not a swimming beach, but they do an excellent job of picking up the seaweed more than once a day. There were many families with small children, but again, not predominately English speakers. I had the only teenagers I saw. Bottom line, most USA people will probably be happier at other resorts, unless you are comfortable with the Spanish language, foods from Mexico and Europe, and are looking for a quiet place to simply relax. If you are, then you will have no problems at this hotel, and I have nothing but good to say about it. Also, we used Cancun Express for the airport transfers, and it was excellent. On time both ways, friendly English-speaking drivers, and I booked it on the internet with zero hassle. Better price than most.

I am writing to tell you of my huge disappointment with this hotel. This hotel is marketed as a 3.5 star all-inclusive hotel, however, my stay from the dates of 25/6/2020 - 28/6 was horrific and unbelievable.

First, the way you describe the hotel and the pictures you show does not match the current condition of the hotel. In addition, you describe amenities that do not exist. First, the wifi service in the rooms is very limited. Next, no water aerobics classes were offered, and there were no activities on the beach. There were not enough beach chairs to accommodate the guests. My room being over the pool had no sound insulation so I heard the activity at the pool all day and night long.

The food quality was sub-par and they often ran out of things before the meal time was over.

Finally, and more importantly, this hotel is not taking safety seriously during the COVID 19 pandemic. Before visiting this hotel, I stayed at another hotel in Cancun where my temperature was taken before every meal, silverware were delivered in sealed packages and each and every worker (bar tender, waiter, service person, cleaner, etc.) wore gloves and masks (worn correctly) at all times. In fact, guests were required also to wear masks when moving about and when ordering drinks or going to the tables in the restaurants. Here, there were multiple people not wearing masks ever. For example, most of the bartenders had masks around their chins, not covering their mouths or noses. Many servers in the restaurants, the hostess by which everyone passes, and even the towel keeper were not wearing masks at all or were not wearing masks correctly. There is only one server who consistently wore his mask correctly and often gloves, named Diego. I am not sure if this is acceptable by the mostly national guests, however, for this American, this is not acceptable. Even the hourly cleaning chart in the public restroom by the pool had no marks on it in days. This hotel clearly does not care about the safety of its guests.

I sent an email with my concerns to the hotel management and the travel agent (which also forwarded it to the hotel management), and I received absolutely no reply.

Do not risk your health with deals at this hotel. Do not go.

I’m writing this to give you a heads up about this place.
First of all I was very disappointed I stayed there for 7 days. The Ocean View Arena in NOT a Holiday inn.The room was ok sheets were clean beds are acceptable the WiFi was not working or was really slow that you couldn’t used it. Some stuff was friendly but some of them were not especially in the bar inside the building and at the snack bar. We Had all inclusive but the food was not good it didn’t had any flavor they served rice, veggies every day for dinner and they have some options for protein. The pool was soo crowded that we couldn’t even get in we were too afraid because of the COVID 90% of the guest were not wearing masks in the hotel and it was too risky to get in the elevator because it was so small and they were getting in with no mask even though I had a mask we were shoulder to shoulder, I don’t think the elevator gets clean I was there seven days and I didn’t see anybody cleaning it not even the ones during the day. Guests were walking into the lobby with clothing soaking wet that the floor was so wet that I almost fell a couple times and no one care about mopping the floor. There is no beach room the water in the ocean those not look blue or green it’s duty do to all the boats around the area. I can write a lot more about my experience but my advice is just DO NOT STAY In this place for you on safety.

Immediate disappointment. Dirty, outdated, check in process was crazy. No microwave, no fridge, no room service, phone in the room didn’t even work to get front desk assistance. Barely warm shower, I do mean barely, very slippery shower, only 2 towels, and no wash cloths. Food was basically the same daily, not appealing or appetizing, so we chose delivery options. After you stood in line for at least a good 15 mins or so you were able to get 2 watered down drinks pp that we’re gone in 3 gulps, and they close at 10pm, not worth it! The beach, well don’t plan on getting in here. It’s covered in seaweed, sandbags, and it smells. The ONLY good thing was the fresh French fries you could get at the snack bar. Will not recommend this resort to anyone.

The staff were very helpful and pleasant, this hotel needs some more renovations to call themselves a resort. It was all inclusive but there were vendors on the premises selling snacks/food items, we say a vendor selling souvenirs out of a kiosk stand and there was no direct access to the beach. The buffet was subpar and there was hardly anything to consume that did not have pork or for anyone vegan. I would not recommend this place to anyone, they should've left this as the Holliday Inn that it was prior.

We went to celebrate my friend's birthday and we ask for a waiter three times, no one came I was going to the pool bar for the drinks and I couldn't take more than two glasses with me. So if we were 5 how many rounds I we had to do from beach to bar??? It wasn't until I said we were celebrating birthday and we had a champagne and we nedded some glasses that they send us a waiter (2 and a half hours later of our arrival) So thanks to Luis Moreno and Manuel for taking care of us excellently.... So not the best experience, but better when they started to take care of us. .

First and most importantly this hotel is still in the start up stages and with only 40 rooms available I have to admit the sevice was very good, but on the other hand as an all-inclusive it still has a long way to go. Lets say primative.
The hotel is close to the City of Cancun so cab fair is usually 120-150 pesos each way to the larger and better known hotels and cost to the City of Cancun will run 60 pesos.(Better shopping)
This Holiday Inn was purchased some months ago and the changes made was adding another floor. Be prepared to walkup and down plenty of steps since, the elevators were not operational.
The rooms were clean and spacous and all had oceanviews since , bayside rooms were still being worked on The showers had leaks from floor above due to poor construction (stayed in room 1311)
The 4th floor had some rooms open but just a few.
Meals were served in two (2) areas. The main dinning room served breakfast and dinner only. And was a limited daily menu. Room service was availabe at no extra charge.
The pool area serves only lunch and also had a limited menu, but had full bar service. I must add that the food was well prepared and good.
The Hotel was construting a new outside dinning area and was told that the hotel would be finished sometime in late Feburary or March when a total of 215 rooms would be done as well as the dining areas.
This Hotel was never my choice but my wife and I had purchased a travel package through Travewlcomm over a year ago but ,because of Hurricane Wilma and other problems that Travelcomm presented us we had no choice but to take it.
Since they would not refund our money.
My advice never use Travelcomm and this hotel although did its best. Is not what I would highly recommend.

The people at the reception were friendly but the workers in the restaurant we really rude and only interested in getting as much tips as possible. First night we paid for a buffer dinner 23 USD for a mediocre pasta, lasagna and cold chicken and cheese pizza. I forgot about the salad, which consisted mainly of lettuce and more lettuce. Next morning we decided to take an a la carte breakfast. We ordered an American breakfast consisting of a juice, coffee, eggs and ham. The orange juice was more of like a fluorescent yellowish orange flavored (artificial flavor of course) water. The glass had lipstick stains on it and when I told the waiter about it he just nodded and smiled. He did not even offer to replace my glass! We got the bill and realized we were charged extra for the juice which was supposedly included in our meal. We left a little tip and that drove the waiter mad and he was rudely protesting about it to the receptionist (really? was I supposed to tip for having a dirty glass or for being charged extra for what was included in my meal). And did I mention I got sick after eating that breakfast? Now we went back to our room in order to pack and leave to the airport. The key of our room would not open (we had the same problem the day before). After going to the reception twice to reactivate the key we gave up and finally they sent a security guy to open our door. This whole commotion took about 45 minutes while we are stuck outside of our room and stressing out about packing and leaving for the airport. I had stayed in Few Holiday Inn hotels before and my experience ranged between good to very good. This one was a definite NEVER AGAIN. If you really want to enjoy Cancun and have a pleasant stay I strongly recommend to stay away of that place.
We finally came home and thought this ordeal was over. We checked our credit card statement only to realize that we double charged after our online reservation and later by the hotel upon our check-in. Now we are desperately try to reach out for a customer service representative to try to get our money back.

Depends on your expectations. This ain't a luxurious place. But our room was clean, the pool is good, the water...well, thats the only main issue for me...tiny beach, no waves, and the seaweed covering the bottom, but a lot of it is cleared each day, and if you wear old shoes or aquatic shoes, do go further out , where it gets deeper...the water is actually quite clean...the service was excellent (margarita was mostly good)...as for food, just take the bus or taxi and explore cancun...if you got the all inclusive, the food is OK , but nothing special...do go out...
