Private, quiet, comfortable, adjacent to Chichen Itza itself, good food - all you could wish for as a place from which to explore Chichen Itza and/or 'chill out' for afew days. Accommodation is in private chalets set in a semi-jungle. 5 stars.

Good location for the Archeological site; lovely approach and gardens, so we had that good feeling you get when you know you're going to like a hotel. This lasted until we saw our room. On the plus side it was very clean, the bedlinen was fine, the beds were passable [they seemed rather short] and it was quiet. However the...

Beautiful hotel in a spectacular location. The rooms are quite basic with no amenities and we found the beds quite hard. For $165+tax a night a coffemaker would be nice. To buy coffee in the hotel was about £6 for 2 small cups. Too much money for so little.

After reading the other reviews we were quite looking forward to this stay but it failed at every opportunity. I don't know why people think staying in a room that is just whitewashed breeze blocks is charming? I thought it was more cell block H. Rooms are large but the bathroom walls do not go up to the ceiling so...

Nice hacienda with a big and nice garden. The room are nothing special. The best thing about the hacienda is that it's walking distance from Chichen Itza so that you can be there at the opening time to be the first one there before all the groups arrive. It's really worth making the effort to be the first there. We...

I first visited Hacienda Chichen in 2008--and have since returned several times, each time learning something new about this magical and special place. The elegant buildings and lush grounds are beautiful. You can walk around winding paths, surrounded by jungle plants, visit the hacienda church, art gallery, and the gardens that supply the restaurant, or you can take a dip...

If you want to see the Chichen Itza archealogical site before the crowds arrive from Playa Del Carmen and Cancun and the hawkers have set up their stalls this is the place to stay. You can walk in from this hotel in about fifteen minutes using a side entrance. So you can have a reasonable timed breakfast and still be...

My Husband and I decided to celebrate our 30th Anniversary in the Yucatan, exploring the area. First thing once we landed in Cancun airport was renting our auto and headed right the road, 180d toll road (excellent toll road worth the money!) Our first stop was Ek Balam (highly recommend it) and our second stop was The Hacienda Chichen Resort...

Everything about the hacienda is superb and to American standards. This also comes with an American price tag in case you are slow. Yes, there are bugs. The hacienda happens to be a green destination located in the middle of a jungle -- there is really no way around insects... [By the way, the kind of scorpions they have are...

First let me clarify some of the points that have been brought up in reviews - yes, there are bugs (it's the jungle, duh!) and yes, you can get a cheaper meal by driving to Piste and pulling up to the wonderful lady who grills chickens and sells them for 8 dollars the whole chicken. However, even with all that,...
