I can't say enough good things about our visit to Mayaland. All the personnel there were very friendly and helpful We stayed for 3 nights, and the wait staff would spend time talking to us about everything from local culture to family experience. Every detail of the hotel was beautifully done-- from the carved furniture in the rooms to the... More

I just was there for a two night stayed. I was travelling with my daughter and a 6 and 4 years old grandkids. We felt extremely safe and loved the setting. My grandkids loved to sleep under the mosquito tent. This hotel is ideally located since we could walk to the Maya ruins. I highly recommend it for any age.... More

Thank you so much for sharing your WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE while with us with the world's traveling community! That you felt safe with your family is our every day experience in Yucatan, where our family has lived for four centuries... yet it is not what the media would want you to believe, so we are all very grateful for your comment!... We stayed at the Mayaland for one night while visiting Chichen Itza. This is an old hotel but it has a very special flair. The grounds are wonderful, from the Lobby you can look at the Observatory of Chichen Itza. The room was big, the bathroom looked quite worn down. We had a really big balcony. Originally we have booked... More

We spent just one night in Mayaland. Came in in the afternoon, a bit later than we origonally planned for, and here the hotel's location saved us, it takes you maybe 5 minutes to walk from your room to the site - fantastic! And even more so important since the site is closed at 5 pm... Unfortunately the light and... More

Having visited Chichen Itza before, I was seeking a hotel close to the ruins to enable an early morning entry prior to the arrival of buses...the Mayaland was perfect for this. Finding the hotel requires vigilance, but once you arrive your jaw should drop at the sheer beauty of the grounds. The hotel was originally a Spanish hacienda, converted to... More

I was really hoping our stay to Mayaland would be wonderful. After all the fantastic reviews, the proximity to the ruins, and the excellent service I read about I knew this was the place I wanted to stay. We arrived at 8pm after a gruelling 16hr trip, and just wanted food, a shower and to go to bed. We were... More

We find it very diffucult to relate to your complaint. Our staff at the front desk, waiters, management, even some of our gardeners, can engage in a conversation in various languages, including your own. I fail to see how an "all you can eat buffet" that we sell to the public for less than twelve dollars and fifty cents can... More

We only stayed for 2 nights and really only picked this hotel because of its proximity to the ruins, but we had a very pleasant stay. The place is huge and I don't usually like such hotels but our room was very spacious and comfortable. It had a huge bathroom with one of the biggest baths I have ever seen,... More

We are very happy to learn we exided your expectations! Interesting, that you would have thought that we are a huge hotel. We only have 54 rooms, but THEY are very large, as you saw. Absolutely beautiful hotel and grounds. We(a couple with young adult daughter) had a view of both the gardens and the Chichen Itza observatory ruins from our room. Staff was attentive and pleasant during our two night stay. Food was excellent, both the buffet and from the menu. Our dinner the first night was served during a torrential downpoor in the... More

What a "Fantastic" review ! Muchas gracias. Delighted to learn of your experience while with us and your nice comments about Mayaland Tours/Gray Line. Back in 1921, the company founder and Mexico's tourism pioneer, Fernando Barbachano Peon, brought the first tourists to Chichen Itza from the port of Progreso. Since then, our family has followed on our grandfather's footsteps. You... More
