This hotel is located a 15 minute walk from town. It has the largest pool on the island. The staff is the real gem here as they are warm and friendly and beyond helpful. the grounds are nice and the rooms are clean. They even do Covid testing on the property. I don't use Dive Paradise that is across the street near their beach club as they make everything harder than it should be.
The hotel was very nice and the food was great! The staff were wonderful and we didn't have one bad experience the whole trip. Martin, Rellez Mario,Gustavo, Erwin, Addy, and Archuro were amazing and truly made the trip more enjoyable. The hotel rooms were nice and they had a great view. At night there were great souvenir, jewelry and art stands. I recommend going to these stands, Riccardo at the art stand very talented and customized painting for me. Angel and his colleagues had a jewelry stand and the jewelry they made was very high quality and inexpensive. The souvenir stand was great too and we got a lot of cool tops that she brought from playa del carmen. Breakfast was served by the beach and it was lovely. Next time we go to Cozumel we will stay here.
Very often, CHANGE is considered negatively. However, this year, upon returning for the twentieth year to this all-inclusive resort, we were pleasantly surprised with the improvements which have been made since being taken over by WNDHAM. We took comfort, however, knowing that most staff members are still working at the resort. From my first call to the sales manager, JANETH JIMENEZ, until the time we arrived at the resort, our reservation process was positive and seamless – thanks to JANETH. The first and most dramatic change was the new paint job! No longer bright yellow and orange, the resort is crisp and bright, having been re-painted white. . Subtle touches of grey marble provide a restful setting. When we arrived, we were greeted like old friends by RUSSELL, the bellman we have come to know over the years and we were, once more, called by name! Pretty impressive since we were unable to travel there last year. Check-in was simple, with RAUL, the front desk manager, welcoming us back and processing out check-in very efficiently. Throughout our stay, Raul was one of the "go-to" staff members, who was eager and willing to help solve any issues or to answer most any question. Our poolside room was on the middle level, providing a wonderful view of the "largest swimming pool on the island"! Morning is breakfast time and we were pleased to head to the oceanfront dining room - Girasoles, where we were again greeted like old friends by the ever-jolly CORNELIO, who showed us to our table. Not to be outdone was BERTA - the best preparer of fried eggs and omelets! She is so good that the hotel has provided here with her own private station, at which there is almost always a line of devotees. She has a wonderful smile (although difficult to see behind her mandated mask) but there is always a twinkle in her eyes! Throughout our three weeks, we enjoyed a higher quality of food, particularly in the evenings, when there were special ITALIAN or MEXICAN night dining, outside, under the stars! The best meal during our visit was the OCEANSIDE CARIBBEAN BUFFET - especially arranged at the beach, where we were also entertained by three performers of fire-dancing. That, along with the incredible sunset, made everyone's evening most enjoyable. In the late afternoon, following a rousing game of pool volley ball, we repaired to the bar, where again, we were greeted as old friends by DANIEL - one of the best bar-tenders, who knows how to prepare a great Manhattan, and who does so with a most positive attitude. More than twenty years ago, on our first visit, we were so impressed with a young man, who was a bell boy - RUDY. He is probably the longest - serving staff member and is now the night manager of the resort...well done! Also the always pleasant LIVIA - one of the front desk staff members. Other staff members who made our stay more pleasant include ALBERTO, GUSTAVO, RELLEZ, MARIO and the entertainment staff - ALONZO, CRISTINA and ARTURO. A special SHOUT-OUT goes to a new member of the staff - from the first day we arrived and throughout our stay, we observed one young man, who was ever-present and ever-attentive to the needs of those he served. His name is MARTIN, and he is one of the best additions to the wait staff in the dining room. On our second morning at breakfast, MARTIN greeted us by name, escorted us to our table and recalled what we both wanted in the way of beverages and food. Sometimes, members of a hotel staff stand out and MARTIN is unquestionably the very best! We had the opportunity to get to know him, to learn that although he is only about 38 years of age, he suffered the loss of his wife this past January, and he is raising his daughter, who just turned thirteen. MARTIN seems tireless and was always quick to inquire how he could better serve us. This young man should be elevated to a position of management, without question! Had everything changed? Not at all. However, we are confident that under the leadership of ANGEL PASILLAS VALDIVIA, the proposed upgrades and improvements will only add to a wonderful experience. He is ever-attentive and responsive to suggestions. One day, I happened to notice that the American Flag outside at the entrance looked a bit ragged and torn. I mentioned it to Angel, and within a few minutes, the flag was replaced with a new one! Thank you, ANGEL, for respecting your guests and their countries. We look forward to seeing the improvements promised for next year.…
