With the exception of the staff, we were very disappointed in our stay this time. Villa was dirty, had to buy a new coffee maker since theirs was rusted and lid broken. Nobody comes to clean bathrooms and no cleaning supplies available. No hot water twice, pool was not operational, no breakfast available and every morning at 8:00 a.m. they were banging and drilling on the roof so there was no chance of sleeping in at all. We were there in June 2021 and they were renovating. This time in October they are still renovating. While The Villa met our needs, we would not book again. The staff was great but the hotel is definitely not worth the cost and aggregation. Very disappointed.
It is a shame that the TripAdvisor counter do not go back further. I was in town and I did not have accomodations I went to the Flamingo Hotel and the friendly bartender told me that I could have a room in their hotel. Fortunately they received my card. So I could expend one night there. Beautiful hotel very nice rooms. I truly enjoy your shower. Little problems with the hot water but I just laughed off.
Our room was not as advertised, to the point that it was a nearly a scam. There was no minibar, no tv, no telephone, no bathrobe, no mosquito net, no hairdryer, no alarm clock. There was no drinking water provided in our room, not even one of those tiny plastic 12 oz. bottles. There were no hangers in the closets. The was not single picture on the walls. There was a safe, but it was locked. After it being opened by the staff, the bolts to secure it to the shelf or wall were discovered inside. There was no towel rack in the bathroom, which looked like it wasn't quite finished. There were still spacers in the stonework, some alarmingly sharp. There was an exposed electrical junction box over the sink. The shower curtain was a 99 cent model from the discount store, hung from a cheap expandable rod. The bathroom windowsill was filthy with debris. What we did have is dust. The ceiling fan needed a good cleaning, as did the closet doors. The room had clearly been cleaned, but neither deep nor often enough. There were pipes sticking out of the walls to the right of the bed, and a cloth plugged into a hole. The bar had its share of dust on the chairs, the lamps, and the bartop. There were exposed wires hanging down from the ceiling where recessed lighting should go. The rooftop deck looked nothing at all like the picture. Railings to keep guests from plummeting to their deaths would be a nice addition, but there were also no railings in the stairwells, which were dirty, with broken marble risers and lots of sharp, jagged edges. The king bed was great, there were good sheets, and the staff was nice. The hotel is in a great location. The WiFi existed, though it wasn't particulary strong in our room and went out often. There are dozens and dozens of other hotels to choose from in Cozumel, and I reccomend trying any of them other than the Flamingo. Whoever is in charge here should be deeply ashamed.…
this place is right in the middle of town and the rooms that face into the central Courtyard are pretty quiet at night. The beds are good, the front desk service is very willing and very knowledgeable. I've had breakfast there daily during picture of my stays and found it to be well made and very tasty. I've been here more than once and I would recommend it. the nightly price is very fair considering what you get for it. I will return on my next oppportunity.
My husband and I stay here every year, sometimes twice a year! The staff is great. The hotel bar and restaurant are quant, personable and accommodating. Breakfast is so delicious and made fresh every morning to order - so nice! The rooms are clean and well appointed. The refrigerator is stocked with beer, water and refreshments and not overly priced. For a fee, you can have your laundry done. The hotel is just a couple blocks from the square, so relatively quiet and super location in terms of delicious restaurants within walking distance (one almost next door and a taco stand across the street - both yummy). Just a block up from the water (you can see the Caribbean from the roof top sitting area). Negatives: I really can't think of any unless you want a swimming pool - there is not one of those. Try it, and you'll return!…
This was my second stay at this hotel. It is clean, comfortable and located near the plaza and the shoreline. I was here to dive, so I needed to take a taxi to the dive boat, but it is a minor inconvenience and worth it to be walking distance from restaurants and shops. The staff is very friendly and helpful, nice breakfast available for $5.00. I will stay here again.
I stayed here for 6 nights and could not have asked for a better experience. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. There is a gentleman named Ivan that really adds to the charm. He has a great deal of knowledge of the surrounding area and makes the late-night bar experience a pleasure. The hotel is in a great location that is easy access to everything.
I visit Cozumel 4-5 times a year and look forward to being at the Flamingo, my go-to place. I can afford to stay anywhere on the island. But I choose to stay at the Flamingo. Why? 1. Because it's a great place; cute, clean and comfortable (especially the beds)! 2. It has a great staff, with Adrian the manager. Oscar the asst mgr. Ivan working the evenings at the bar and checking-in late arriving guests. Carolina runs the kitchen and makes excellent breakfasts. Elizabeth does the rooms and she is great. 3. It's located in an authentic neighborhood a few blocks north of the town center. 4. It's one block from the water and active during the day but nice and quiet in the evening. 5. It is within two blocks of five very good restaurants and all five of them will deliver to the hotel. What more can one ask for? It's a great value and I highly recommend staying there.…
We rented one room with two large beds in it for a fantastic (low-season) price in the 2nd week of June. The hotel seemed to have few other guests around, but the ones that were there were friendly. We also rented a car and were able to park within a 2 block radius every day but I can imagine how busy this place must be in high season. I really feel like we had a much different experience of the city because we were just above the main tourist zone and would go even farther out into the more local areas of town for good tacos and dinner on the nights we didn't eat within walking distance. Fantastic Uruguayan restaurant next door as well as an amazing bakery, perfect for snagging a $1-2 pastry before morning dives. Because we were diving we didn't drink much but Ivan's margaritas are legendary -- multiple people bragged about them when we said we were staying there. I also found the 24/7 reception to be helpful and we were able to leave our keys downstairs so that neither of us were ever locked out of the room, given that we were on different dive schedules. If you stay here and have a car, do take some time to drive south of the island past Punto Sur and explore the windward side. I spent a bunch of time down there because it was near my dive center, but my buddy whose dive boat was at the marina only got to see El Mirador on the last day when I brought him there. Personally, I'm more about the island's natural beauty and being just a block from the ocean was a huge plus. The laundry was down while we were there so maybe don't count on that specific perk, but I would 100% stay here again.…
The bed was comfortable and it was right in the center, 5 minutes waking distance from the ferry. Reception/Bellboy was quite friendly and gave me recommendations about the island. · Lobby and bar very very old and dirty and broken. The room looked nice on first sight. No plugs except one next to the TV. The bathroom was disgusting!!! Rotten, super dirty, mold, blond hair (I am brunette). Super loud in the morning, 7:30am people were talking super loud in the courtyard, where all rooms have the view to. AC was only working on full speed, the AUTO Mode was not working, way too cold for the night, and switched off too hot. I had some tiny tiny weird insects looked like a kind of ant in my bed... I have no idea why this hotel has such good reviews. Especially for the price of 75$, i don’t expect luxury but I expect cleanliness!!! I’m a frequent traveler all over the world. I stay in medium budget to high budget hotels, but never experienced something like this. My hotel in tulum for 24$ was amazing compared to the this. For me never again.…
