You will get a better exchange if you bring pesos, but the do accept US dollars. I wouldn't use ATM. Did that once on my first trip to Mexico and incurred high fees from my bank. Maybe you have a better bank though... More

Ferry is very close. Take a right out of the terminal...not far at all.
We had a pool view room. Could see a bit of ocean.
Not sure about Mosquitos.
