We have stayed at this hotel every time we visit Isla and we would stay again as the location can’t be beat and most of the staff was lovely. It’s a shame to see so many staff just standing around on their phones while others are running. This place has a lot of jobs that could be getting done if the staff applied themselves. There is an onsite restaurant that’s not bad and the live music is definitely a bonus. The pool is lovely though it is in need of a good grout cleaning and paint job around the deck. It would be really nice if they cleaned the deck chairs picked up garbage and wiped down all the tables around the pool before everyone started claiming their spots in the morning. The landscaping also needs work. Romi’s bar is definitely a highlight as people from other hotels and locations come to enjoy his drinks and visits at the bar. Our room was very clean, the bedding comfortable, air conditioning worked well and the water was hot. We were on the ground floor of building 4. The curtains in the room were disgustingly dirty, but we heard they were making changes so we hope that’s one of them. You can tell they are doing their best to make updates to this older hotel and it wouldn’t take much to turn this into a 4 or 5 star review. If you’re not a fancy pants and are more concerned about enjoying Mexico than staying in your room this hotel is a good choice.

We stayed in bldg 3 on the 3rd floor. The room is clean and had a good air conditioner. The beds are very firm and the mini fridge keeps your drinks ice cold. There was always hot water for a nice long shower if you desire. There was not a coffee maker in our room ( we didn’t get a suite) but we went to Chedraui and bought a coffee maker for $28 CND, plus coffee mate and sugar. The housekeeping staff is was good. They cleaned daily but sometimes not until later afternoons. The room smells clean and disinfected when they are done. The food in the restaurant is pretty good. The drinks in the bar are a little light on the alcohol. There are water coolers on the main floor so you can have a cold glass or fill your water bottle before heading out for the day. The pool is not heated but can be very refreshing on a hot day. The toilet seat was broken in our room and we called the front desk and they had a maintenance guy up to our room in about 10 minutes to replace it. Bldg 3 has 110 volt 3 prong plugs. Pretty good Wi-Fi in most parts of the hotel. You can sometimes pick up the Wi-Fi across the street at the beach. There wasn’t a hair dryer in the room. The overall hotel grounds could be better. As far as picking up garbage, skimming the pool more often and just general cleaning and maintenance would be nice. Overall, the grounds are well treed with lots of plants and flowers. If you stay here, you’re staying for the location. Playa Centro is just across the street. The hotel gives you a discount coupon for chair and umbrella rental and offers food and drink delivery. Playa Norte is a couple blocks walk. Hidalgo Ave is a block away which has endless options for food. The bus stops is in front and across the street from the hotel. Have we stayed at nicer hotels? Yes, but we have stayed at worse.

Very disappointed in this property. We stayed here for two nights and our room looked like a prison cell. Some of our friends stayed as well and there rooms were better however, we did not receive maid service at all. The pool was decent and location was okay being across from the ocean. Do not recommend!

This place is dirty. No hair dryer, wash clothes, hot water, front door entrance, ice or closet. Very run down. We were charged extra for additional person when our original reservation was for 3 because we had a bad experience with an airbnb and had to which our stay at the last minute. See the attached picture.

Rooms are not as pictured. Bathrooms are horrible. Beds are uncomfortable. No ice, no elevator. The only good thing I can say is that the AC works. No private beach as stated on booking.com this place is close to restaurants

Service is horrible. As the title states, given a bucket & plunger to fix our own broken toilet. No room service for 4 days!! Booked 3 rooms 2 for 8 nights and 1 for 4 nights. Harassed non stop from restaurant staff to not drink our own beer at the pool because they have "day pass guests" who may ask questions. I have been going here for 8 years, never was this an issue until this stay. The hotel manager even came pool side to give us a talking to, it's not written anywhere on their site, so we refused to abide by this ridiculous demand. I paid $150.00 per room per night, and this is considered my residence, I will enjoy a beer pool side. At the small bar there, one of our group members was actually threatened with violence by a staff member. It was getting beyond crazy. Another guest (not with us) had his personal belongings riffled through when they were in the pool, the restaurant manager was looking for beer! This created quite the scene as no one appreciates their personal items inspected without their consent, while they were in the pool. cockroaches on the stairs, that remained there for DAYS!! the cleaning staff have to go that direction multiple times a day, no care or concern at all. This place has turned into a run down dump & I will NEVER return

The hotel is not well represented on the website. It’s in desperate need of a renovation, housekeeping is abysmal, pool is ancient. One thing it has going for it is location. There are four of us in a room for ten nights. After 7 nights I had to make a request that housekeeping change our sheets which hadn’t been done. Plus they were swapping pillows around all week. They never once cleaned the bathroom. And everyday I had to request towels. Most of the staff is friendly but one male staff member was quite disagreeable. He refused to give us a lounge voucher for the other two people in our room. The voucher is provided by the hotel to get 50% off lounge chairs at the beach, since lounge service is run by the hotel. Honestly, they should be giving vouchers for free lounge chairs. If you are totally on a budget, I suppose this hotel fits the bill. But I have not experienced such a poor quality hotel since I was slumming it in college.

Loved the location right across from Playa Centro. I stayed in a mini suite on 2nd floor, which is in the newest part of the hotel and loved it. I had a beautiful view from my balcony! The pool was clean and refreshing with Romy's Bar providing excellent service. Also a restaurant on site for snacks/meals/drinks. Very affordable, great location, clean, comfortable and safe!

The pictures are NOT what they show on their website!!! When I booked our room I had requested a room with a pool view and our room had a view of construction!!! I was told when we checked in that all the rooms were full for the week and there were no rooms available in building 2 or 3, our room was in building 1 and it is the worst!!!! I then heard a couple the next day check in and they got a room in building 3!!!! The shower sprays all over the bathroom floor, no hairdryer, cracks all over the inside, no fridge (I was told all rooms have a fridge) and it was dirty!!! Do not get a room in building 1 you will regret it!!! The management doesn't seem to care about the customers at all as long as they have your money!!!! The good was the beach was across the street, the pool was good and the restaurant was also pretty good. If you stay request a room in building 2 or 3!!!!!

Local people across the street at the beach bringing their blue tooth speakers playing loud music. Goes on all night. Screaming, yelling, laughter: generally drunk behavior. Rooms face this noise and behaviors and sleep is next to impossible. A bar called Stingray has extremely loud music and blows you out of your bed. This is a bar located on Hidalgo with very large speakers, blaring out music from their second story bar area until 3am. After 3am the beach music starts after bars close and goes on until partygoers pass out. Hotel says they cannot remedy the situation since it is occurring off property. If this is tolerated by hotel business will decline. Stayed here numerous times but probably never again. Disappointed with hotel and responses.
